Chapter 438 Wen Zhixia x Shen Jiachen (Part 10)

Wen Zhixia brought an umbrella. She checks the weather forecast every day and saw that it was going to rain today, so she prepared it early. It's just a pity that she can't ride her bike home tonight.

She locked the coffee shop door, glanced at the time on her old watch, and decided to take a taxi instead of walking back.

It's expensive, but the rain is really heavy.

Wen Zhixia hailed a car at the entrance. As she got in, she glanced casually across the street and saw only a black SUV parked there. Without paying any attention, she closed her umbrella and got into the car.

The taxi headed towards University A.

When she returned to the dormitory, it was pitch black. She turned on the light, but Yu Mingxue was not there.

It was already 10:30 when Wen Zhixia came out of the shower. The dormitory downstairs was closed, but Yu Mingxue still hadn't returned.

After thinking it over, she finally found Yu Mingxue's WeChat and sent her a message asking: "[The dorm doors are about to close, are you back yet?]"

Yu Mingxue replied quickly: [No reply.]

Wen Zhixia gave an OK sign and closed the dormitory door.

It was rare for Wen Zhixia to have a dormitory room all to herself, so she simply didn't draw the curtains. She yawned, set her phone alarm, closed her eyes, and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Before she knew it, it was Saturday. Wen Zhixia went to her tutor's house early in the morning, taught all morning, and then rushed back to her rented apartment after buying groceries.

The location of the apartment is not bad; there is a subway station 300 meters away and a bus stop right outside. However, it is an old residential area with an average environment and no elevator, so I have to climb eight floors every time I go back.

Because she had to climb stairs, she managed to snag a bargain. In a location where a one-bedroom apartment could be rented for 3,000, she got it for 1,000.

Wen Zhixia rarely comes back, except for Saturday nights when she comes back to spend the night with Wen Sisi. She spends most of her time at school.

As soon as she got home, she started busying herself, preparing delicious food for Wen Sisi.

It is often said that children from poor families mature early, but in reality, Wen Zhixia and Wen Sisi had a very happy childhood.

Although the father figure was missing in the family, the mother was a very gentle and capable woman. She not only did a good job, but also managed the household very well. Wen Zhixia and Wen Sisi didn't need to do anything; they just needed to focus on their studies.

Wen Zhixia only became familiar with these things when her mother was ill.

She stared at the bubbling ribs in the pot for a while before snapping out of her daze, and then slowly went to marinate the fish.

But in her heart, she was thinking about how to talk to Wen Sisi later. This age is a sensitive time. Wen Zhixia sighed softly. Being a parent is really not easy.

Just as the ribs and fish were nearing the end, Wen Sisi returned.

As soon as she entered the door, she exclaimed happily, "Wow, it smells so good, sister!"

Wen Sisi quickly put down her schoolbag, ran into the kitchen, hugged Wen Zhixia, rubbed her face against her back several times, and then looked longingly at the potato ribs and braised fish in the pot.

These are her two favorite dishes! The potato soup coats the rice, and with the tender stewed ribs, Wen Sisi can eat two bowls of rice in one go!

There's also braised fish. The fried fish skin and tender fish meat are soaked in a savory and slightly spicy broth, and when you put it in your mouth, all you can feel is its deliciousness.

Wen Zhixia patted the hand on her waist and said without changing her expression, "Wash your hands and get your bowl to eat."

Wen Sisi sighed happily, washed her hands, took the bowls and chopsticks and went out, saying, "Sister, do you have a part-time job during the National Day holiday?"

Wen Zhixia said, "Yes, at the coffee shop."

The tutor wanted to go on a trip with her parents, and she originally wanted to look for a suitable tutor again, but when she thought about Wen Sisi, she was no longer in a hurry.

We can look for part-time work after we finish talking today.

The reputation of a prestigious school is very useful, and Wen Zhixia's grades have always been consistently in the top three, with scholarships every semester, making it easy for her to find tutoring jobs.

Wen Zhixia served braised fish and pork ribs with potatoes. Wen Sisi couldn't wait to pick up her chopsticks and eat a piece of pork rib. While chewing, she exclaimed, "This is what people should eat! It's so delicious!"

Wen Zhixia couldn't help but smile, her eyes crinkling at the comment: "Is it really that exaggerated?"

Even though I said that, I still put more fish on her plate.

Wen Sisi quickly replied, "Thank you, sis."

After saying that, the two sisters began to enjoy their lunch again, and ate for a while.

Wen Sisi glanced at Wen Zhixia furtively several times before asking, "Sis, are you going to work part-time at the coffee shop tonight?"

Wen Zhixia pretended not to notice that she was looking at her and replied, "No need, I'm resting today."

Wen Sisi poked at the rice in her bowl, lost in thought.

Wen Zhixia looked up at her: "What's wrong?"

Wen Sisi quickly replied, "It's nothing, I was just asking you."

She added some food for Wen Zhixia as well: "Sister, you should eat more too, I feel like you've lost weight."

Wen Zhixia inherited her mother's traits; even if she eats whatever she wants, she won't gain weight.

Wen Sisi was very envious. Even if she only ate a little bit, she would still gain weight. She complained many times that she didn't inherit her mother's physique of not gaining weight no matter how much she ate.

The two sisters had a very harmonious lunch. Wen Sisi was probably in a good mood today, and she even took the initiative to clear the table and wash the dishes. Normally, she would just lie on the double sofa.

Wen Sisi washed the dishes and put on her new watch. Although it wasn't the one she wanted, it was still pretty good.

Wen Zhixia sat on the sofa, looking down at her phone.

Wen Sisi walked to the wardrobe next to her and said, "Sis, I'm going to see a movie with my friends this afternoon, so I probably won't be back for dinner tonight. Don't wait for me. If I'm coming back, I'll send you a message in advance."

Wen Zhixia put down her phone, turned to look at Wen Sisi, and asked, "What time did you meet your friend?"

"The movie is at three o'clock." Wen Sisi had already found a floral dress that Wen Zhixia had bought for her. It was super pretty, and she had only worn it once. Today, she could finally wear it again.

Wen Zhixia looked at the dress and said, "It's only one o'clock, why are you going out so early?"

Wen Sisi exclaimed, having already prepared an excuse: "My friend and I are going to go shopping together, and then we'll go see a movie."

Wen Zhixia asked, "Sisi, is your friend a girl or a boy?"
