Chapter 441 Wen Zhixia x Shen Jiachen (Thirteen)

Wen Zhixia subconsciously lowered her eyes, held the tray with both hands, and gently pushed the coffee and cake towards Shen Jiachen.

Shen Jiachen snapped out of his daze, feeling a little embarrassed, and said, "Thank you."

Then I picked up the tray and went to the empty corner.

There's a potted asparagus fern in that spot, which conveniently blocks some of the view.

From Wen Zhixia's position, she could only see Shen Jiachen's figure, but not his handsome face that was somewhat intimidating.

She breathed a sigh of relief.

Perhaps because she had mistaken Shen Jiachen for Ning Zhen's younger brother before, Wen Zhixia had some indescribable feelings when she saw him these two times.

Fortunately, she soon got busy again.

What she didn't know was that the bamboo was blocking Shen Jiachen's view.

He watched Wen Zhixia wash cups and make coffee, smiling as she recommended it to customers.

Why didn't I smile and recommend it to him just now? He must have ordered too quickly.

Shen Jiachen thought that next time he would take his time and think more carefully when ordering.

Actually, he doesn't really like coffee; he prefers tea.

But ever since I found out that Wen Zhixia worked at Ningzhen Coffee Shop, I found myself unconsciously walking to the door every time.

But I only glanced at it from afar before leaving.

Shen Jiachen slowly withdrew his gaze, his slender fingers gripping the handle of the coffee cup. Only then did he notice that the latte art on the latte was shaped like a small sun.

He stared at the little sun, and as if possessed, picked up his phone and pointed the camera at it.

A silent click captured the little sun in the phone's photo album.

The coffee shop wasn't so busy after four o'clock. Wen Zhixia returned to the kitchen, stretched her slightly stiff shoulders and neck, raised one hand to pinch her neck, and used the other hand to look at the surveillance camera on her phone.

Surveillance footage showed that Wen Sisi ordered milk tea delivery ten minutes earlier.

Wen Zhixia took a deep breath; it seemed she had come to terms with it.

She felt a little relieved, put her phone back in her pocket, washed her water glass, and filled it with some warm water to drink.

After resting for a while, Wen Zhixia returned to the front desk.

The shop wasn't busy anymore, and Mengmeng glanced at the time: "Are you ordering takeout later today? Or are you going out to eat?"

Usually, Wen Zhixia would eat before handing over the work.

Wen Zhixia glanced at the time; it was still early. She thought for a moment and said, "I'll order takeout later."

She didn't actually feel very hungry; she had eaten quite a lot at lunch.

If you get hungry later, just order something. If that doesn't work, you can exchange your employee drink for a small cake at the store.

Ningzhen is very generous to her employees. She provides two free employee drinks each week, whether it's coffee, beverages, or desserts.

Mengmeng nodded: "Okay, there's no one here now, let's coordinate our work."

The docking process was quick, and it was done in less than ten minutes.

After finishing, Wen Zhixia left the front desk to clean the store. She subconsciously looked behind the asparagus fern bonsai.

Shen Jiachen is still here.

There was a laptop on the table in front of him, and he was looking at the contents of the laptop intently, as if he were studying.

There are actually many people who come to coffee shops to study quietly, but Shen Jiachen is just so... pleasing to the eye.

Wen Zhixia usually doesn't pay much attention to other people's appearances, but Shen Jiachen's face seemed to have been coated with something attractive.

Every time my gaze falls on him, it lingers for a moment.

Wen Zhixia quietly tidied up the table. Shen Jiachen had been sitting there all afternoon, and the shop's business had obviously improved a lot.

After tidying up, she thought she needed to change her mask, so she simply took it off and threw it away. Just as she was about to go in and change into a new mask, she heard Mengmeng say, "I see Mr. Chen has been sitting there for a long time. Why don't you ask him if he wants another coffee?"

Free coffee refills are available for dine-in customers, but few people choose to get a refill for the sake of sleeping.

Wen Zhixia nodded and turned to walk towards Shen Jiachen.

Shen Jiachen was actually in an online meeting when he noticed Wen Zhixia walking towards him out of the corner of his eye. He silently took off one of his earphones.

Wen Zhixia noticed his movement and said quickly and softly, "Would you like some more coffee?"

Shen Jiachen's coffee was almost empty, and he had only taken two bites of the tiramisu next to him, probably because it didn't suit his taste.

Shen Jiachen replied, "Could I have some warm water? And some coffee too? I can't sleep tonight."

Wen Zhixia smiled and said, "Of course."

Shen Jiachen was struck by her smile, and he felt his heart pounding wildly.

Fortunately, Wen Zhixia didn't notice his dazed expression. After speaking, she turned and left to pour warm water for Shen Jiachen.

Soon, she returned with a glass of warm water and thoughtfully placed it beside Shen Jiachen without disturbing him.

The whole thing only took two minutes, but it felt like an eternity to Shen Jiachen.

Shen Jiachen was actually very clear about his current state, and even found it a bit unbelievable, but he did indeed develop an interest in Wen Zhixia that he had never had before.

If I had to describe how I feel right now in one word, it would be... love at first sight.

But it seems that Wen Zhixia has no feelings for him at all, and only regards him as a customer in the store, or at most, a fellow alumnus from the same school.

The two of them were not familiar with each other at all.

Shen Jiachen sighed, picked up the glass of warm water, and took a small sip.

Mengmeng finished get off work at six o'clock, leaving Wen Zhixia alone in the coffee shop.

Wen Sisi sent her a message ten minutes ago; it was just a photo. She had reheated the leftovers from lunch.

Wen Zhixia knew that she wanted to make peace.

Actually, thinking about what Wen Sisi had said to her, Wen Zhixia still felt a little tired.

After my mother left, my father started a new family and completely ignored the two of them. He even had to be urged repeatedly before he would reluctantly send them 500 yuan for the agreed-upon living expenses.

What can you do with 500 yuan these days? 500 yuan is simply not enough for Wen Sisi's tuition and living expenses.

What's more, there are two mouths to feed.

If Wen Zhixia didn't take on a part-time job, both she and her sister would starve.

She always believed that the two sisters were of one mind. Although life was tough, she thought things would get better once they grew up. She did her best to make Wen Sisi's life better.

I just didn't expect this...

Wen Sisi didn't seem to think that way; she even seemed to blame herself.

Wen Zhixia knew very well that she had said these words in the heat of the moment, in the heat of the moment.

But if you don't think that way, you won't say those things in a moment of passion.

Wen Zhixia knew she shouldn't think of her sister like that, but she just couldn't help it.

She took a deep breath, took out her phone again, and sent Wen Sisi an "OK" emoji.

No matter what, Wen Sisi is still my sister, and sisters don't hold grudges overnight.
