Wen Sisi raised her arm to wipe away her tears and continued, "What happens to me in the future, what my future holds, has nothing to do with you. You're just my sister, not my dad or... my mom. Why do you care so much about me? I don't need your control! I'll make my own decisions about my life!"
Looking at her face, Wen Sisi continued, "I like him. If you dare to go to the school, I'll jump off the school building right in front of you!"
Wen Zhixia felt her head buzzing, as if the world was spinning. After a long while, she finally managed to utter, "You... threatened me?"
Wen Sisi's eyes were red, and she regretted saying it as soon as she spoke. Her tone softened: "Sister..."
Is this really her sister?
Wen Zhixia looked at Wen Sisi and felt that she was a complete stranger: "You threatened to jump off a building for a man, Wen Sisi, you really..."
She couldn't continue, her hands clenched into fists as she stood by her side: "You're right, I'm just your older sister, I shouldn't interfere with you."
Wen Sisi panicked for a moment: "Sister...no...that's not what I meant."
She took a step forward, but didn't dare to meet Wen Zhixia's eyes: "I... I just don't want to break up."
“You don’t need to tell me all this,” Wen Zhixia said. “I’ll give you that person’s WeChat later. If you need anything or want anything in the future, just contact him directly. I’m just your sister, I have no obligation to support you.”
After their mother passed away, the responsibility of raising Wen Sisi fell on Wen Zhixia's shoulders. She never told Wen Sisi how tired or bitter she was, and tried her best to satisfy her desires. She only thought that the two sisters should live a good life.
What did she get in return? She got a threat to jump off a building.
Wen Zhixia felt truly exhausted. She took a deep breath and said, "You can handle your own affairs."
Wen Sisi was truly panicked. She had never heard Wen Zhixia speak to her like that before. She didn't care about anything else and stepped forward to hug Wen Zhixia tightly: "Sister, I was wrong. I shouldn't have said that. I was really wrong. As long as we don't break up, I'll agree to anything you ask."
Wen Zhixia pushed her away: "But I only have one request, and that is to break up."
He was about to say something when Zhang Lei suddenly appeared.
He had been thinking it over and over, but still hadn't left. After hearing what happened, he was furious.
Zhang Lei strode up and grabbed Wen Sisi's wrist, pulling her back to him. He said coldly, "No need to trouble you, sister. I'll take care of my own woman."
Wen Zhixia's gaze fell on Zhang Lei, and then finally on Wen Sisi.
Wen Sisi just bit her lip and said nothing.
Zhang Lei held Wen Sisi's hand tightly and led her away quickly.
Wen Zhixia watched their departing figures and subconsciously followed, but then stopped abruptly.
She felt dizzy and short of breath, so she leaned against the wall and tried to take several deep breaths.
Wen Zhixia lowered her eyes, looking at her toes. Her mind was blank, and she couldn't think of anything.
Until she saw a pair of light-colored sneakers in front of her. Wen Zhixia stared at the sneakers for a few seconds, then slowly raised her head. The person standing in front of her was Yu Mingxue.
Yu Mingxue crossed her arms, looked at her, and asked suspiciously, "Are you acting like you're going to die for a man? Did he cheat on you? Or what?"
Wen Zhixia knew she had misunderstood, and slowly shook her head: "That's my sister and her boyfriend."
Yu Mingxue blinked: "Your sister? Doesn't look like her."
Wen Zhixia is quite good-looking, but her younger sister is very ordinary-looking. The two sisters don't look alike at all.
Wen Zhixia gave a soft "hmm," and now that she had calmed down a bit, she straightened up and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Yu Mingxue clicked her tongue lightly when she saw her like this: "You're allowed to be here, but I'm not?"
Wen Zhixia didn't say anything, but Yu Mingxue asked, "Can you still walk? Did your sister hit you?"
She saw Wen Zhixia leaning against the wall, standing motionless for a long time. But then she remembered Wen Zhixia's incredible strength and recalled what her younger sister Wen Zhixia looked like. Hmm... Wen Zhixia could probably handle her better.
"I'm all better," Wen Zhixia breathed a sigh of relief.
Yu Mingxue withdrew her gaze: "Follow me."
She started walking out, and Wen Zhixia's mind seemed to be fogged up, but she still obediently followed her.
Yu Mingxue led her into a dessert shop, quickly ordered two bowls of dessert, and then found a seat.
On a weekday, the shop wasn't crowded. Yu Mingxue stretched her neck and waited for their sweet soup to arrive before turning her gaze to Wen Zhixia in front of her: "Are you dazed? You look completely out of it."
Wen Zhixia snapped out of her daze and shook her head: "It's nothing."
She held the spoon and stirred the red bean paste in the bowl: "I'll transfer the money to you."
Yu Mingxue looked at her as she reached for her phone and said, "Tsk, it's only twenty-odd yuan. You have time to transfer it, but I don't even have time to collect it."
Upon hearing this, Wen Zhixia silently put down her phone and said, "Thank you."
She took a spoon, scooped up the soft, chewy taro balls from the bottom of the bowl, and slowly chewed them. Red bean taro balls were the specialty of this restaurant, but Wen Zhixia wasn't in the mood to enjoy them; her mind was still reeling from what had just happened.
Yu Mingxue took a couple of bites, but then lost interest. She said, "You look so numb. What did your sister do to make you so angry?"
Although she didn't have much contact with Wen Zhixia, Yu Mingxue always felt that she had a good temper and was quite warm-hearted.
