Wen Shuqiao brought the prepared dinner to the table, and the young male protagonist, sitting in his chair, couldn't help but swallow his saliva.
It smells so good! It's making his little head swoon!
Seeing his wide-eyed expression, Wen Shuqiao couldn't help but smile and put some ribs in his bowl: "Can Canbao eat ribs by himself?"
She stewed the ribs for a long time until they were so tender they fell off the bone, and even a child could chew them.
Can Can nodded vigorously: "Can Bao can do it!"
The young protagonist seemed much more relaxed, clumsily trying to poke the ribs with his chopsticks. He wasn't very good at using chopsticks; everyone in the orphanage had a spoon.
Wen Shuqiao went back to the kitchen and washed a spoon. She said, "Canbao, use the spoon. Auntie will buy you children's chopsticks tomorrow, okay?"
Can Can nodded. "Auntie, you're really good!"
I'll also buy him baby chopsticks! His mom bought them for him before!
However, he lost it not long after taking it to the orphanage, and he cried for a long time!
With a spoon in hand, Can Can ate much faster. A piece of pork rib pushed up his cheek, making him look like a child with a unique innocence.
I wonder if we can raise more meat before he gets taken back.
Wen Shuqiao put more shredded potatoes into his bowl: "Canbao can't just eat meat, he also needs to eat vegetables and rice together."
Can Can nodded in agreement, mumbling, "Delicious! Tasty!"
Wen Shuqiao thought to himself, "He knows quite a lot of vocabulary."
The little boy was easy to feed, and Wen Shuqiao didn't have to do much. After she cleared the table, she figured it was about time, so she took the little boy to take a bath.
The little boy is wearing his new panda pajamas, he's so cute!
However, when Wen Shuqiao came out after taking a shower, she didn't see him in the bedroom.
She walked towards the living room with a puzzled look in her eyes and immediately saw a small bump on the sofa. She went over and saw the little boy curled up, covered with a thin t-shirt, fast asleep.
Wen Shuqiao looked at him and sighed softly, then walked over and picked him up.
The young boy opened his eyes groggily, glanced at her, and asked indistinctly, "Auntie, are you sending me away?"
Wen Shuqiao said softly, "Auntie will take you back to your bedroom to sleep."
Can Can was warmly dressed and well-fed, and he was already feeling sleepy. After realizing that his aunt wasn't going to send him away, he fell into a deep sleep in her arms.
He hadn't had a warm night's sleep in a very long time, and maybe he was just too happy today; his head was spinning...
Wen Shuqiao originally wanted to lie in bed and absorb more information about this world, but she was extremely tired both mentally and physically today. After settling the young male lead in, she also drifted off to sleep.
*
Wen Shuqiao was woken up by the heat. She hadn't drawn all the curtains when she went to sleep. When she opened her eyes and looked around the room in the light from outside, she was a little confused before realizing where she was.
There was now a heat source beside her. The young male protagonist had been far away when he fell asleep, but he had rolled over to her side at some point. He was holding her collar tightly with one hand and her fingers tightly with the other, his breathing heavy and light.
He looked very insecure.
Wen Shuqiao carefully turned him over, placed his hands on his face, and made sure he was facing upwards to prevent him from having difficulty breathing.
After she finished, she breathed a sigh of relief and was about to continue her dream when she noticed something strange again as soon as she closed her eyes.
Turning to the side and turning on the light, Wen Shuqiao looked at the little male protagonist lying beside her. The little male protagonist's face was unnaturally flushed, and his little face was wrinkled, looking very uncomfortable.
She reached out and touched his forehead; it was burning hot!
She got out of bed, went to find a thermometer, and measured her temperature at 38.5 degrees Celsius.
The young male protagonist has a fever!
Wen Shuqiao hurriedly put on her clothes and then frantically dressed the young male lead. He must have been delirious with fever, as he did not wake up during this time.
It wasn't until Wen Shuqiao carried him out the door, his head nestled in the crook of her shoulder, that he managed to wake up, asking groggily, "Auntie, where are we going?"
Wen Shuqiao said, "Canbao has a fever. Auntie will take you to see a doctor."
Children's illnesses cannot be taken lightly; if not handled properly, they could leave lasting health problems. Wen Shuqiao left in a great hurry.
Can Can was obedient, her two little arms tightly wrapped around Wen Shu Qiao's neck to prevent herself from falling.
Fortunately, the place was close to the hospital, and it only took Wen Shuqiao twenty minutes to get there. After the emergency room examination, it turned out to be just a simple cold and fever. She just needed an IV drip and some medicine at home.
"The child is malnourished. As a parent, you can't just give him snacks. He needs to eat more meals and pay more attention to the weather. Children's physiques are not as good as ours as adults."
Wen Shuqiao carefully wrote it down, and the doctor then gave her a prescription to pay for the IV drip.
The weather in City A is very changeable. When Wen Shuqiao arrived at the infusion room with her child, there were quite a few people inside, but half of them were children.
Wen Shuqiao found a small corner. The young male protagonist had already woken up after all that commotion. Except when they had to separate during the examination, he clung tightly to Wen Shuqiao's arm, looking at his surroundings with timidity and fear.
"Canbao, the doctor is going to give you a shot. Can you sit still?" Wen Shuqiao gently patted his back.
Although reluctant, Can Can listened to Wen Shu Qiao and let go of his hands. Wen Shu Qiao adjusted his position, held him in her arms, pressed his hands down with one hand, and covered his eyes with the other: "It will be over soon, Can Bao, don't be afraid."
