Chapter 524 (End)

[Shen Jiazhou: Wen Manyi! You've finally met your match! Hahahahahahaha]

At home, Manman is practically a female demon, but today she was "dealt with" by her brother.

Shen Jiazhou wanted to go home and pat Cancan on the shoulder; all that pain hadn't been for nothing!

Wen Shuqiao clicked her tongue lightly, "Another one gone mad."

*

Days passed by in this ordinary way, and both siblings, Cancan and Manman, were slowly getting better.

In the blink of an eye, Can Can will be graduating from junior high school soon. His goal is A High School, the number one high school in A City, and he has been feeling a lot of pressure lately.

Shen Jiazhou brought him a glass of sweet water and placed it on the table, but he only glanced at it and said, "I don't want to drink it. You can give it to my little sister."

“Your sister has food, I didn’t skimp on her rations,” Shen Jiazhou said. “Your aunt asked me to bring this up for you as a midnight snack. What kind of test paper are you working on right now?”

Can Can shook her head: "I'm writing an essay, not a test paper."

Shen Jiazhou picked it up and glanced at it. The essay prompt read: "Write a letter?"

Can Can nodded and said, "Yes, I want to write a letter, but I don't know what to write."

Shen Jiazhou put down his composition book and said, "Write it to your future self. Write about what you want to be when you grow up. A scientist? An astronaut? A braised pork prince?"

Can Can: "...Uncle, I really don't know what to say, so you should go out first." Don't let him end up with a bag of jelly while you're talking.

Moreover, he doesn't know what he will be like in the future, or what he will do.

Shen Jiazhou coughed lightly and patted his shoulder: "Then I'll go help your aunt tidy up the kitchen."

Can Can nodded, and Shen Jia Zhou left his room.

Can Can thought about it for a while and finally figured out that the room was a bit stuffy and he needed to open the window to let in some fresh air.

It's already April, and the temperature is gradually rising, but it's still a bit chilly at night.

He let the breeze blow for a while, then closed the screen window again.

Just as he was about to sit down at his desk again, there was a knock on his bedroom door twice.

He said, "Come in."

Manman appeared at the door, smiling, and said, "Brother, let's go for a walk together!"

Can Can walked towards the desk: "No."

But Manman had already rushed in and grabbed his hand to walk out. She said, "No, I already promised Mom that we would go for a walk as a family. A family should be together all the time."

Upon hearing this, Can Can pondered for a moment, but ultimately followed Man Man downstairs.

The aunt and uncle had already changed their shoes and were standing at the door looking at the two siblings: "Come on, let's go for a walk together."

The two went downstairs, and Wen Shuqiao raised her hand to pat his head: "Relax a bit."

Can Can took a deep breath, nodded, and changed into comfortable shoes.

He had originally intended to bring Cake along, but Cake was already an old dog; it lay motionless in its bed and didn't want to leave at all.

So he gave up.

The weather isn't as cold as it is in February or March, and there are quite a few people out for a walk. Can Can and Man Man walked in front, while Wen Shu Qiao and Shen Jia Zhou walked behind, hand in hand.

The wind blew towards them, and Shen Jiazhou subconsciously looked at Wen Shuqiao, raised his hand to adjust her coat, and hugged her tighter.

Before they knew it, they were both almost in their thirties, and they were no longer as resilient as they were when they were young.

Wen Shuqiao patted his hand: "It's okay, I'm not cold."

She looked at the brother and sister walking ahead and sighed, "It feels like growing up happens in the blink of an eye."

“Yes,” Shen Jiazhou said with emotion, “They have grown up, and we are getting old.”

Wen Shuqiao smiled and tilted her head to look at him: "What? Do you want to stay in your twenties forever?"

"No." Shen Jiazhou pressed his face against Wen Shuqiao's: "I want to grow old with you."

He really enjoys this simple, peaceful life with both a son and a daughter.

Wen Shuqiao said, "I still remember that Cancan was very thin and small back then, but now she's taller than me."

When Can Can entered junior high school, she started to grow taller. Once, when Shen Jiazhou was away on a business trip, he saw Can Can and almost didn't recognize her.

This child is truly like a bamboo shoot; one day he's a tender bamboo shoot, and the next he's already a tall and straight bamboo.

“It’s good,” Shen Jiazhou said. “But you know what, when you’re young, you always think about how quickly your kids grow up, but once they’re grown up, you suddenly can’t bear to part with them.”

Wen Shuqiao nodded. She still felt like they were the same kids who used to cuddle on her shoulders, but in the blink of an eye, they were both grown up.

Can Can led her younger sister ahead to look at the trees along the roadside. They looked completely different from those in autumn and winter, with tender green leaves growing on the branches, creating a vibrant spring scene.

Manman walked over to a wall of flowers and said, "Brother, can you take a picture of me?"

Can Can nodded, took out his phone, and took two photos of Man Man in front of him.

He said, clearly dissatisfied, "You need to find the right angle, bro! Don't just stand there like a pillar!"

Can Can slowly found a few angles, then hopped and skipped around to look at them: "Brother, let me take some pictures of you!"

"No," Can Can refused without even thinking, "I don't like taking pictures."

Manman tilted her head and said, "Why? You used to love taking pictures. Mom showed me a lot of your old photos. You were so cute when you were little!"

"Wen Manyi." Can Can's eyelids twitched: "I've said it a million times, your brother is handsome."

Manman pouted and mimicked his words: "I've said it a million times—it's cute!"

Can Can felt an itch in her hands and wanted to teach someone a lesson.
