Chapter 200 The Baby is Very Light

He didn't get home until twenty minutes later, and he rushed upstairs without even changing his shoes.

Wen Shuqiao's door was open. He walked over quickly and went in. He saw Can Can lying on top of Wen Shuqiao, hugging her tightly through the blanket.

I don't know how long I cried, there was no sound, and the tears were absorbed by the blanket as soon as they fell.

When Can Can saw Shen Jia Zhou appear, she straightened up, her lips pursed even more, and tears fell like pearls, but after landing on the quilt, they quickly turned into small water stains.

"Uncle..." Can Can was sobbing.

Shen Jiazhou walked to the bedside, frowned as he looked at Wen Shuqiao, who hadn't responded at all, and then reached out to touch her forehead. She had a high fever, even though she was perfectly normal before going to bed last night.

Shen Jiazhou didn't dare to delay: "Come down, let's take Auntie to the hospital."

Can Can nodded, and after being carried down by Shen Jia Zhou, she hurried downstairs to put on her shoes.

Shen Jiazhou turned around, intending to find a coat in her closet, but for some reason, he turned around again, quickly took off his own coat, lifted her blanket, wrapped her in the coat, and picked her up.

After coming downstairs, Can Can had already put on her shoes. Seeing her uncle carrying her aunt downstairs, she opened the door herself. Milk and cake were also circling in the entryway. Can Can raised her hand to wipe away her tears and said seriously, "You two have to take good care of the house!"

Then he left home with his uncle and aunt.

Fortunately, the surrounding facilities were complete, and the morning rush hour was over. Ten minutes later, Shen Jiazhou brought Cancan and Wen Shuqiao to the nearest private hospital.

After pushing the person into the emergency room, Shen Jiazhou finally came to his senses and realized that a child was still tugging at the hem of his clothes.

He sighed and sat down with Can Can on a bench where they were waiting.

Can Can had stopped crying, but now she couldn't hold it in anymore and nestled next to Shen Jiazhou, tears streaming down her face. Her eyes and nose were red, but she didn't make a sound.

Shen Jiazhou wiped away his tears with his fingertips: "Don't cry, your aunt is fine."

Can Can buried her face in his shoulder, her little shoulders trembling, it was clear she was really scared.

Shen Jiazhou patted his back gently and comforted him softly, "Alright, alright, I'll ask Uncle Xingyuan to take you out to play, okay? By the time you come back, Auntie will be better too."

"No," Can Can said in a muffled voice, "I want to wait for Auntie."

Shen Jiazhou didn't press him any further; in truth, he wasn't entirely sure himself.

Logically speaking, even if someone has a fever, they shouldn't have no reaction at all. While comforting Can Can, he took out his phone and called the hospital director.

After everything was done, Shen Jiazhou felt that Cancan, who had been crying, seemed to have calmed down a lot. He lowered his head slightly and rested his chin on Cancan's forehead: "Don't cry. A lot of doctors, aunties, and uncles will come to see Auntie later. Auntie is fine."

He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his tear-streaked face: "If you keep crying, your aunt will be sad when she wakes up and sees you."

Can Can nodded with her mouth tightly closed, but she looked very aggrieved. She had talked to her aunt when she had a cold last time, so why didn't her aunt talk to her when she had a cold?

Shen Jiazhou sighed, wiping away his tears while gently comforting him.

He looked at the lit light; in truth, his heart was now hanging in the air.

"Auntie...Auntie? Are you awake?"

Wen Shuqiao was in a daze when she felt warm water falling on her neck.

Is it raining? Did Can Can hold the umbrella properly?

She opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Can Can's face magnified many times over, her eyes filled with tears that were falling in a steady stream, some onto her neck and some onto her chin.

She instinctively raised her hand to hug the child, only to realize that her right hand was receiving an IV drip. She raised her left hand to hug him, her voice hoarse: "Baby?"

When Can Can heard Wen Shuqiao speak, she first pouted, then cried out loudly, "Auntie, Auntie, you're awake! Uncle! Uncle! Auntie's awake!"

Wen Shuqiao's thoughts gradually returned. She sat up while holding Cancan and realized that she was lying in a hospital bed.

Shen Jiazhou stood up from the sofa under the window, took a glass of warm water and came over: "Have some water."

Can Can sat in her lap, hugging her tightly, saying, "Auntie, Auntie, waaaah, Auntie."

Wen Shuqiao patted his head: "Don't cry, don't cry."

She took the cup from Shen Jiazhou and drank the warm water, after which she felt much better.

Shen Jiazhou took the cup from her hand, and Wen Shuqiao looked at him and asked, "How did I end up in the hospital?"

“Can Can found out you had a fever and couldn’t wake you up no matter what he did.” Shen Jia Zhou kept looking at her and only continued after making sure Wen Shu Qiao was alright: “He was terrified and wanted to hold you.”

Wen Shuqiao's face was pale, and she only frowned slightly when she heard Shen Jiazhou's words.

She had a fever? She only remembered having a dream, but what was in the dream?

Wen Shuqiao couldn't quite remember; she felt like she had forgotten something.

Can Can, nestled in her arms, raised her head and said with a wronged expression, "Auntie, please don't get sick, okay?"

"Okay," Wen Shuqiao said, "Take him away, don't let him get infected."

Shen Jiazhou sighed: "It's no use. If I take him away, he'll climb into your bed if I'm not careful."

Then I lay down next to her, crying and hugging her.
