World Three

World Three

How much harder is it to talk to a cousin you rarely see than to force a conversation with your ex who doesn't want to talk to you? Much harder.

Especially if you don't know the other person has changed their name.

"My name is Yu Sheng now," the female voice on the other end suddenly mentioned this when Yu Chengwei greeted her. "I don't use that name anymore."

Yu Chengxu paused for a moment before coming to his senses, his words of flattery successfully stuck in his throat.

He wiped his face, a little frustrated: "I'm sorry."

Yu Chengwei didn't intend to ask why the other party chose to change his name.

Because during the time when the other person was still at home and he and his parents would go over to chat about family matters, his uncle would often argue with the former Yu Niannan, not caring at all what the half-family and half-outsiders who were listening to it thought.

The quarrels were either because Yu Niannan did not do as he asked, or because Yu Niannan wanted to cut her hair short.

The most serious incident was when Yu Niannan discovered that he had been kicked out of the company's heir team by his biological father.

It was also at that time that Yu Chengxu first realized that the name "Nian Nan" did not mean that he liked nanmu trees, but meant that he wanted a boy.

"It doesn't matter. Besides, you're the first one in the Yu family to know about my name change." Yu Sheng didn't take the incident seriously. "Tell me, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Yu Chengwei knew that when asking for help, he couldn't hide it, so he said bluntly: "You posted a travel-related circle of friends today."

Yu Sheng on the other end of the phone said "hmm" softly. She was smart, so she didn't say anything like "That circle of friends post doesn't seem to be related to traveling" at this critical juncture.

"I want to know who he is..." Yu Chengwei swallowed. He had never asked anyone for help before, so he stuttered, as if he suddenly didn't know how to speak. "I want to know... do you know where his destination is?"

After these words were spoken, there was no sound from the other side for a long time.

At the age of seventeen, Yu Chengwei began taking over the family business while studying. Those so-called partners often used silence to play psychological warfare with him, but he had never found those psychological battles as difficult as they were now.

Finally, Yu Sheng spoke up: "Why, you fell in love with him at first sight, didn't you?"

Yu Chengwei knew very well that if Yu Sheng didn't know He Xing's destination, he would definitely not ask him like this.

Therefore, what he said now had to be direct enough and his attitude had to be frank enough, so that the other party would be willing to tell him where He Xing's destination was.

"I've been secretly dating him for a long time, and just a day ago, he broke up with me in a note," Yu Chengwei said succinctly. "My family started arranging blind dates for me a while ago, and he found out about it just a day ago."

"Isn't it as simple as you say?" Yu Sheng's teasing voice came from the other side. "... Let me think, are you trying to play both sides safe, planning to go on a blind date without telling the other party, but the other party found out?"

"It might be a little worse than you imagined," Yu Chengxu said, no longer feeling as awkward as he had been at the beginning, and no longer stuttering. "Because I lied to him and told him I had already rejected it."

"So..." Perhaps wanting to lighten the mood, Yu Sheng deliberately dragged out the tone of his words, "No wonder."

"But why should I help you?" After saying so much, Yu Sheng finally got to the point. "I don't know if the other person wants you to win him back, and I can't make a decision on his behalf."

"Just tell me his destination," Yu Chengwei said immediately, "...just give me a rough outline, and I'll find the rest myself."

...I really only know his destination, Yu Sheng thought.

But she didn't plan to tell him about this. She wanted to test Yu Chengwei's resolve and see if he had any other reasons to convince her: "This reason is far from enough."

"I remember my uncle once envied my parents. He said he envied them for having a son. Because it meant I could find a woman, and we would have the next generation... and our child would be the next heir to the company." Yu Chengwei slowed down his tone. "Are you really not angry at all about this?"

Yu Sheng didn't say anything.

Angry? Of course she was.

She clearly possessed excellent skills and abilities, and was recognized by the company's top management. However, one day, she was kicked out of the line of heirs by her father just because she could not choose her gender.

If she had not received the so-called education, if she had not tried to handle the company's affairs under their consent and arrangement, if she had not handled it so well later, then she would not have felt angry after losing everything.

What made her angry was the contempt of those closest to her - contempt for her abilities and skills as a woman.

What frustrates her is the envy of her closest relatives for having a son - envy that the other party has given birth to a boy.

What angered her most was her mother's tacit acceptance of the situation - she allowed it to happen and remained silent while it happened.

If it weren't for these bad things happening, she wouldn't have chosen to travel around instead of going home.

"...If he knew I was gay," Yu Chengwei whispered, "do you think he would change his attitude and want you to come back and inherit the company?"

They were both shrewd people who grew up with such an education. Although one could not control his temper and the other seemed too cynical, their essence was the same. So Yu Sheng immediately understood what Yu Chengxu meant by not saying it out loud.

Yu Chengwei was implying that he could be a bargaining chip, the one that would make her father change his mind.

Aren’t you envious of their family for having a son who will have his own heir in the future?

But what if he's actually gay?

What if he is a homosexual who can't have his own children? After all, things are different now. Surrogacy is a banned illegal act.

...In such a comparison, do you think your daughter seems pretty good?

Yu Sheng suddenly broke free from the fantasy in her mind. She took a deep breath, shook her head, and said, "No, this is not right."

"What's wrong?" Yu Chengwei was still a little unresponsive.

"I don't want him to think I'm better because of this." Yu Sheng replied softly, "What I want is for him to realize his own problems and choose to change on his own."

The gender is determined by the father, not her.

He could have pointed this out when he felt she wasn't capable enough and removed her from the heir pool, instead of forcibly disqualifying her simply because of her gender when her abilities far surpassed those of the others.

'I want him to realise his problem.'

Yu Chengwei was stunned. He felt as if he had grasped something at this moment - he seemed to realize the reason why He Xing ignored him.

For one thing, he deceived He Xing under the pretext of 'I'm doing this for your own good'.

The second reason is that after realizing that the matter might be exposed, he did not choose to explain in time, but instead asked the other party whether he had taken his mobile phone.

The third point is that after getting through to He Xing, he only said "he didn't go on the blind date" and did not seriously express his apology to the other party.

"I can tell you his destination. But you must also promise me... If the other party doesn't want to reconcile with you, you can't force him to accept it." Yu Sheng said.

"I can promise you." Yu Chengwei rarely used a serious tone.

"You still have to tell me what you plan to do." Yu Sheng continued, "Since you call me cousin, then I have to take on the responsibilities that belong to a cousin."

She didn't think that Yu Chengwei had obtained his family's permission before calling her. Yu Chengwei probably wanted to "act first and ask for permission later."

In this case, as an insider, she also needs to ensure Yu Chengxu's personal safety and prevent him from doing anything stupid.

And under the same roof, in the bedroom on the second floor.

Mr. and Mrs. Yu are not asleep yet, but are chatting.

But they were not talking about company matters now, but about Yu Chengwei who was obviously not in good condition today.

"I told you long ago, this matter needs to be handled step by step, slowly. You can't eat hot tofu in a hurry!" Yu's mother frowned, muttering while carefully applying a facial mask on her face. "That boy has already left here, and looking at your son's obviously distracted look today, you know they must have broken up!"

"He didn't even go back to his villa today. He went out for a walk and then slept here with us," she said. "Doesn't this prove something?"

"What are you worried about?"

"I'm not worried. I just feel a little panicked." Father Yu's expression had begun to show some resignation. "Besides, weren't you against it at the beginning? You said you'd die if your son turned out to be gay. Didn't you ask me to find a way to separate them?"

"Didn't I know back then that the boy was so handsome? And so capable, earning his own tuition." Yu's mother patted the mask off her face, her voice noticeably softer than before. "Oh, his sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, so handsome!"

Father Yu did not refute, because even the knowledgeable Father Yu had to admit that the boy was indeed very handsome.

So he just snorted in the end: "Anyway, they have broken up now. No matter how much you like that guy, you can't see him anymore."

"What a shame," Yu's mother sighed. "I thought my son would be brave enough to confess his love to his family. If that were the case, I wouldn't object."

She opposed it at first because she was not sure how far their relationship had progressed and what the other person's attitude was towards her son.

As for using blind dates to test the waters, it's because it works every time and has become a common tactic used by people like them.

"Don't feel bad about it," Yu's father said, feeling helpless at her alternating refusal and agreement. "Let the nanny make him some chicken soup for lunch tomorrow. It will be a comfort to him."

The chicken soup cooked by the nanny did not enter Yu Chengxu's stomach.

Yu's father and mother waited for their son until noon, and when they found that he still hadn't come out, they finally realized something.

Yu's mother pushed open the door, and sure enough, she saw an empty room.

There was a note on the table: "I'm sorry, Mom and Dad. I kept it a secret from you for so long, but I actually already have a lover. Now I have to work hard to win him back."

There is also a line of words written in the lower right corner: In a society ruled by law, don’t suspend my card!

"This kid," even though she was prepared for this, she couldn't help but chuckle and curse softly, "What an idiot!"

The last thing Yu's father saw was a piece of paper with a corner missing.

He looked at Yu's mother who was sitting on the chair opposite him with her hands behind her back, and inexplicably felt that she was doing something good without telling him.

"Was there something written on the lower right corner before?" he asked tentatively.

"What did you write? Nothing!" Yu's mother glared at him immediately. "What? Do you suspect I tore it up? Do you think I'm that kind of person?!"

I wasn't very skeptical just now, but now I can only say that I am extremely skeptical.

"I wouldn't dare," Yu's father said immediately. Thinking about what his son might write on the card based on his usual personality, he asked again, "Do you think I should just cancel his card?"

Yu's mother didn't say anything.

She simply pulled the plate with the sandwich in front of Yu's father towards herself, silently expressing her attitude.

"Don't stop, don't stop." Yu's father quickly tried to make amends, "Only judicial authorities have the right to freeze bank cards. I was just playing a joke on you."

"I know you're just trying to play a joke on me." Yu's mother was very annoyed. "So I just simply don't want you to eat breakfast."

"You're already a father, and your son is old enough to have a boyfriend!" She tried to hold back, but couldn't hold back the urge in her heart. "You always joke with me all day long. Tell me, are you childish or not?"

"Okay, I'm childish, the most childish of all." Father Yu looked at the two plates in front of Mother Yu, tilted his head, and asked, "By the way, why doesn't my sandwich seem to have onions in it today?"

"Of course, it's because we're out of it. I've already told them I'll buy some. Just asking, do I look like an onion to you?!"

"Okay." Father Yu decisively chose to surrender, "I won't say anything more."

"Remember to check your garage later," Yu's mother handed him the dinner plate in front of her, "to see if he drove away your car. There was no sound last night."

"It's definitely not a car. It's most likely a motorcycle that was pushed out." Yu's father said as he secretly picked up a corner of the sandwich bread with his fork. He saw the purple and white circle and immediately put the fork down. "After we finish eating, we can go check the surveillance and see how your son could commit such a burglary in his own home."

He just said that there must be onions in his sandwich.
