Chapter 34 Jiang Jiaoming: "Don't lick it."...

Chapter 34 Jiang Jiaoming: "Don't lick it."...

Jiang Jiaoming dried himself off and stood at the foot of the bed, using the dim light from the bedside table to see Liang Kongxiang's sleeping face.

A layer of warm yellow light floated over her quiet and gentle features, as if using this thin light to remind Jiang Jiaoming of how thin a dream their past was.

Her sleeping posture was very proper, like a little old-fashioned person. She lay flat on her back, and most of the time she would clasp her hands together on her lower abdomen. Only when he mischievously wrapped his hands and feet around her would she turn her back to him and sleep on her side.

Some memories are so distant that they cannot be pondered too deeply; once you delve into them, it's like entering a bottomless pit, where you only hope to never escape.

Jiang Jiaoming couldn't help but think back to two months ago, when he took advantage of Liang Kongxiang's drunkenness to take her to the cabin in Songjin City that night.

He knew she had drunk a lot, but he was still furious at her words, "I don't regret it," which made his teeth chatter.

Before their reunion, Jiang Jiaoming had written countless versions of reconciliation letters for her. He thought that as long as Liang Kongxiang said she regretted it, he could generously forgive her for abandoning him, and even if Liang Kongxiang allowed him to get closer again, he could take the ninety-nine steps in the middle.

But she said coldly, "I don't regret it."

Watching her drink one glass after another, her eyes becoming unfocused and hazy by the end, Jiang Jiaoming originally thought she would enjoy herself immensely and casually quip, "This way of drowning her sorrows in alcohol, could it be that she can't forget her old flame?" But faster than his words, he stopped her from raising her glass.

Jiang Jiaoming grabbed her wrist, snatched the cup from her hand with his other hand, and asked coldly, "Want to drink more?"

Liang Kongxiang's gaze slowly moved from the half-empty wine glass, along the well-defined knuckles of the hand, and landed on Jiang Jiaoming's sharp and cold features, as if confirming something. Without struggling, she shook off Jiang Jiaoming's hand a few seconds later, lowered her eyes, and remained silent.

Because he had grabbed the cup too forcefully, a lot of wine spilled onto Jiang Jiaoming's hands. He clicked his tongue in annoyance, grabbed two tissues, and casually wiped the back of his hands. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Liang Kongxiang looking quiet and pitiful, so he wiped his hands even harder, making the back of his hands turn red. He then stood up and coldly said "Hey" to her.

Liang Kongxiang did not respond, but kept her head down, staring at the tableware.

Jiang Jiaoming tapped the table with his fingers, making two crisp "thump" sounds, and said, "Speak."

Liang Kongxiang seemed to frown, turning her head to look at him, "Why are you being so fierce?"

"...Who's being mean?" Jiang Jiaoming's expression softened considerably as he avoided her gaze. "I don't fall for that 'playing the victim' act."

Liang Kongxiang frowned slightly again, ignored him, and slowly exhaled while supporting her temples with her fingertips. She shook her head slightly, and used her hands to support herself on the table to get up. As soon as she stood up, she felt like the world was upside down. She took a step, but it felt like she was walking on cotton, and she always felt like she couldn't get a firm footing.

There was also a very noticeable figure standing nearby, watching her struggle intently without offering any help.

Liang Kongxiang's only remaining consciousness was "he is Jiang Jiaoming". It was as if her subconscious judged the current situation as a safe one. She was not so tense. Instead, because of her drunkenness, her mind was blank, and she was in a rare state of relaxation.

Ignoring Jiang Jiaoming's presence, she unlocked her phone to call the driver, but just as she dialed the number, a hand reached out, grabbed the phone with two fingers, and held it in front of her. After glancing at the number's contact name, the hand decisively hung up for her.

The two stood locked in a stalemate, staring at each other in the private room.

"I'll take you," Jiang Jiaoming suddenly said, but he didn't intend to return the phone to her. He asked knowingly, with a gloating air, "Are you sure you can stand still?"

Her lips were slightly pursed, as if she were struggling, but she honestly remained silent. Seeing her uncomfortable appearance, Jiang Jiaoming finally felt much better. He reached out, grasped her arm, gently pulled it in front of him, looked down at her, and asked softly, "I'll ask you one more time, can you stand steadily?"

Liang Kongxiang's face was slightly flushed, her eyes were unfocused, and her head was like a block of wood, staring straight ahead. If you stood ten meters away and looked at her from a distance, anyone would mistake her for a female soldier who had accidentally wandered into the entertainment industry.

Jiang Jiaoming chuckled, grabbed her wrist with his palm facing down, took off his suit jacket and covered her head, then led her towards the door.

He hadn't been drinking. After helping Liang Kongxiang into the passenger seat and fastening her seatbelt, he got into the driver's seat and turned to look at her profile with her eyes closed before stepping on the gas.

It's been so long since I've seen her like this.

The street scene outside the window is the familiar night view of Songjin City: every street, every camphor tree, every corner of the intersection, the graffiti in the alley, the glass windows of the coffee shops, the white lines on the sidewalk with peeling paint, and the flickering yellow lights.

This was not a memory. In this city steeped in old feelings, the tranquility of this moment was no longer a self-deceiving illusion created by Jiang Jiaoming.

As if by some strange twist of fate, he veered off course.

The car stopped at the foot of an old residential area surrounded by withered trees. He gripped the steering wheel absentmindedly, his thoughts already suspended in mid-air. Before he could even ponder his plans, he had already carried the half-asleep Liang Kongxiang out of the car.

She lay in Jiang Jiaoming's arms, her hands hanging limply at her sides, her breathing steady, and she even unconsciously rubbed against Jiang Jiaoming's firm chest.

Jiang Jiaoming paused in inserting the key with one hand, then looked down. Liang Kongxiang seemed annoyed by the loud, pounding sound she heard in her left ear and turned her head away.

The door opened, and Jiang Jiaoming stood in the entryway, holding her, stunned. He hadn't decided where to leave her yet. He looked around the room and was about to walk to the sofa when he met Liang Kongxiang's gaze.

She quietly looked up at Jiang Jiaoming.

In an instant, Jiang Jiaoming loosened his grip, almost causing Liang Kongxiang to fall. Fortunately, he reacted in time, curling his forearms upwards tightly. Liang Kongxiang's nose bumped into his chest, and she frowned, raising her hand to push his chin, causing Jiang Jiaoming's head to tilt back.

“…Behave yourself.” Jiang Jiaoming reluctantly poked Liang Kongxiang’s palm with his chin. “Don’t touch me.”

After she lay down on the sofa, Jiang Jiaoming squatted down at the end of the sofa, took off her shoes, grabbed a blanket from the side and covered her with it. Just as he was standing up with the shoes in hand, about to walk to the shoe cabinet, his other hand was suddenly gently hooked by a warm index finger.

He paused in his forward movement and lowered his head.

Liang Kongxiang lay on her side, her hand hanging limply by the sofa, her eyes looking at him.

Jiang Jiaoming sat down cross-legged in front of her, and Liang Kongxiang's gaze followed his movements from top to bottom, finally looking at him straight on.

"What do you want to do?" Jiang Jiaoming leaned closer, his voice very soft.

The soft light shone through the four corner windows, and Liang Kongxiang's dark pupils were like a bottomless lake, where a creature was breathing, its mouth slightly open, bubbling, rippling, and boiling.

She didn't speak. Suddenly, Jiang Jiaoming raised his hand. Liang Kongxiang's gaze fell on his half-raised hand. He slowly reached towards her face and stopped just before touching her rosy cheeks.

Just as I was about to put my hand down, it was suddenly cupped in my hands by a pair of hands that smelled of wine.

Jiang Jiaoming was stunned. He looked at the pair of slender hands folded over his own, stiffly half-raised. For the first time, his mind went blank as he stared straight at the two hands.

A slight force lifted his hand and pressed it forward, very slowly, very slowly.

Then a burning hot face pressed against his palm, breathing rapidly in his hand. The hot breath sprayed onto his palm, and the palm lines he had never paid attention to suddenly became jarring, like every intersecting line starting to knot.

Jiang Jiaoming's breathing became rapid. He stared blankly at Liang Kongxiang's head buried in his palm. After a few seconds, he slowly lowered his head, his forehead gently touching her head.

"Kong Xiang," he called out softly.

No one answered.

Before he could even get into his emotional act, his head was suddenly shoved hard. Caught off guard, he braced himself with his hand on the ground and looked up, stunned.

The legs, crossed, served as a dumping ground for someone, scooping up a bowl of wine.

He looked down; his trousers were soaking wet, especially the middle section.

Jiang Jiaoming: "...Are you kidding me?"

He leaned over expressionlessly to reach the phone and tissues on the table, wiped Liang Kongxiang's mouth first, clicked his tongue, and started calling the cleaning and dry cleaning services.

After vomiting, Liang Kongxiang lay exhausted on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling.

Jiang Jiaoming stood up, the liquid sliding down his thighs. He quickly rinsed himself off in the bathroom, changed into his pajamas, and came out just as the cleaning staff arrived.

He opened the door, had someone clean the living room, and then carried Liang Kongxiang from the sofa to the room.

She speaks very little when she's drunk, but when she observes others, her eyes are undisguised, revealing her thoughts without any attempt to hide them. Now, she lies quietly on the bed, her eyes fixed on Jiang Jiaoming.

"What are you looking at me for?" Jiang Jiaoming's thoughts were completely interrupted by Liang Kongxiang. Her tone was not good, and she sneered, "All these little tricks you've made tonight were just for this show, weren't they?"

Liang Kongxiang remained silent.

Jiang Jiaoming put one hand on his hip and pointed at her: "What other tricks do you have up your sleeve? Use them all at once."

Seeing her gaze fall down and linger on his waist, Jiang Jiaoming generously lifted his shirt, revealing his well-defined abdominal muscles. He took two steps forward and brought his mouth close to his lips, "What, want to bite it?"

Someone rang the bell; it was probably the dry cleaners.

Jiang Jiaoming put down the clothes, pondering how to get Liang Kongxiang's dirty clothes off...

The dry cleaner's employee was a young man. Jiang Jiaoming counted out ten bills and gave them to him: "Could you please buy me a set of pajamas? Any extras will be considered as a delivery fee."

The young man was naturally happy to hear this and immediately nodded in agreement. Just as he turned to go downstairs, he was suddenly stopped by someone.

"Hello."

The young man turned around, and the handsome rich second-generation guy was looking at him.

The two stared at each other, wide-eyed.

The young man smiled obsequiously, "Sir, is there anything else you require?"

Jiang Jiaoming coughed and demanded expressionlessly, "I want a suspender dress," then added, "lace."

He slammed the door shut and returned to the room. The person on the bed had her eyes closed. He slowly approached, looked at her for a while, and then went out to find the cleaning lady to give Liang Kongxiang a bath.

With the money in place, the matter was resolved smoothly.

He sat on the bed, the bathroom light was on, and the sound of water splashing on the floor made the thin stream of liquid from the showerhead feel like needles, pricking his entire body, almost to the point of being everywhere.

Fortunately, the doorbell rang again, and the young man from the dry cleaner returned with a pink short lace camisole nightgown, looking at Jiang Jiaoming with an expression that seemed to be asking for praise.

Jiang Jiaoming held the silk pajamas, twirling them between his fingertips, and handed him the dirty clothes, saying, "Thanks." He also slipped him some money to go downstairs and buy a jar of honey.

I want her to be clear-headed, but I also don't want her to be too clear-headed.

The bathroom door opened a crack, and the cleaning lady reached out to take a nightgown. Jiang Jiaoming handed it to her, but accidentally caught a glimpse of half of her naked body. He quickly looked away and sat at the foot of the bed.

A few seconds later, the bathroom door opened, and he slowly raised his eyes.

Liang Kongxiang seemed to have regained some consciousness. She was helped out by the cleaning staff and sat on the bed, but she couldn't stay still for more than two seconds before falling backward again.

The pajamas were too short; it was like I wasn't wearing anything at all, and everything that should have been covered was exposed.

Jiang Jiaoming tried to cover up his mistake by pulling his hand down, but it didn't help much.

Liang Kongxiang shook off his mischievous hand and rubbed her temples.

“So fierce,” Jiang Jiaoming nodded. “I understand.” He then lifted the skirt he had just torn off back up and looked at her. “Are you satisfied now?”

“Jiang Jiaoming.” Liang Kongxiang frowned.

"You still know I'm Jiang Jiaoming?" He stood up, leaned closer to her, knelt very close to her face, and lifted his shirt. "How about it? I'll give you a chance to vent your anger. Do you dare?"

Liang Kongxiang looked at his exposed lower abdomen and unconsciously leaned closer. Just as she opened her mouth, Jiang Jiaoming took a big step back and got out of bed.

She looked up in confusion, meeting Jiang Jiaoming's ambiguous smile.

He beckoned to her with his finger, his tone flippant: "Get out of bed and bite. I'm not interested in sleeping with you right now."

A thought compelled Liang Kongxiang to get up as Jiang Jiaoming had instructed. She sat on the bed, then suddenly grabbed Jiang Jiaoming's wrist and pulled him forward.

This surprised Jiang Jiaoming.

"You hate me that much?" He raised an eyebrow, letting Liang Kongxiang do whatever she wanted. He helped her lift up his shirt, deliberately leaned in, and patted her head like he was teasing a puppy: "Bite."

His intention was to provoke her, but he didn't expect her to actually bite him. And it wasn't the flirtatious kind; she bit down hard, as if she were trying to tear off a piece of flesh. Jiang Jiaoming hissed in pain and broke out in a cold sweat.

After she had bitten enough, Jiang Jiaoming looked down and saw bloodstains appearing.

He raised his hand and touched the teeth mark, then suddenly gently pinched Liang Kongxiang's cheeks, forcing her to open her mouth, and frowned: "Don't lick it, isn't blood dirty?"

Liang Kongxiang was very quiet. Jiang Jiaoming led her to the bathroom and helped her brush her teeth. Perhaps because she was drunk, she couldn't stand properly and kept sliding down. She could only stand up by leaning on him.

She didn't know if she had vented her anger, but she felt like she had accomplished something great, and she was very relaxed. She brushed her teeth, put her head on the pillow, and fell asleep without even having time to drink the honey water.

Seeing that she was asleep, Jiang Jiaoming originally wanted to lie down on the sofa, but seeing that Liang Kongxiang was very drunk, he felt that she really needed his help and care as a kind citizen. If he left at this time to keep a polite distance, there would be one more poor person in the world who would not receive help.

He mercifully pulled back the covers and hugged her from behind to prevent her from rolling onto the floor due to her drunkenness.

Several months had passed since that quiet moment when they fell asleep in each other's arms. He stood at the foot of the bed, gazing at that face that always said one thing but meant another, thinking that Liang Kongxiang deserved something that would bring her happiness and peace of mind amidst her exhausting filming schedule.

For example, Jiang Jiaoming's hug.

He stepped onto the bed, gently lifted the covers as usual, slipped under the covers, buried his head on her shoulder, and skillfully began to weave another dream for himself.

*

At dawn, the sky over the entire port of Sisa was still as black as ink. A slightly cool air filled the streets at four o'clock, and the cool breeze blowing from the sea made hundreds of people shiver.

A young girl from the lighting crew was munching on bread while setting up a diffuser. A high-powered spotlight was erected to the side, and some staff members on both sides were holding rain strip lights and small LED lights.

The photographer was setting up the car track, and his unshaven assistant was using both hands to put the rain cover on the camera. After that, he communicated with the lighting team through the equipment to adjust the lighting position.

The once quiet neighborhood instantly became lively, with people going about their work, occasionally exchanging words and cracking jokes.

Liang Kongxiang and Kong Jingying were rehearsing their scene. The two roughly went through the chase route, and the obstacles on the street were all set up in advance: a large trash can, a stack of seafood boxes as tall as a person, the top box full of shrimp and crabs, a stall set up outside a parts store, and several bicycles parked in front of a bakery.

“Take a look back at Jingying in a moment, and when she’s near the seafood boxes, kick those boxes down with your back foot,” Cao Lengyu demonstrated the leg-swinging motion to her, her right leg half-raised with great force. She then told Kong Jingying, “Once Kong Xiang runs around the corner, immediately chase after her on the other street in town. Be careful when you go through the narrow wall.” She pointed to the area between the two shops.

Liang Kongxiang and Kong Jingying both nodded.

The road surface was soaked and black, and the shops on both sides of the street were reflected under the headlights. Wet fishing nets hung from poles, their shadows shaking violently.

With everything ready, Cao Lengyu, sitting in front of the monitor, shouted "action!" The stagehand clapped the clapperboard, and Liang Kongxiang suddenly rushed into the frame.

She was instantly drenched, her hair hanging down her face like a wet mop. Rain streamed down her cheeks, and she could barely open her eyes. Panting, she wiped her face haphazardly and ran forward, glancing back every now and then at the gap between herself and the people behind her.

"Stop!" someone shouted from behind, but the voice sounded so small and weak in the huge rain. She grabbed the fishing gear next to her and threw it forward!

"I told you to stop!" she shouted again, her voice filled with despair and tears.

Bo Wenxiang ignored the cries of the person behind her. She was hit on the back by a hard wooden stick, let out a muffled groan, and wiped her eyes. Seeing something retaliating in front of her, she immediately turned around and looked at the person behind her. Without hesitation, she kicked a stack of boxes full of shrimp and crabs. The still-jumping shrimp and crabs instantly spilled all over the ground, leaping about in the wet rain.

The person behind him reacted quickly, dodging to the left, but still inevitably stepped on a live, transparent shrimp. He stumbled forward for a moment, barely managing to steady himself by grabbing the wall for support. He looked up and cried out in anguish, "Wenxiang!"

Bo Wenxiang paused, but didn't turn around. She then pulled down the stick that was supporting several fishing nets. In an instant, there was another chaotic crashing sound on the ground, splashing a puddle of dirty water along the way.

She was about to turn right onto the street when she suddenly slipped and fell heavily forward, landing on her knees. But she quickly got up and continued running, and the people behind her changed their strategy to chase her.

"Cut!" Cao Lengyu said into the microphone. On the monitor, Liang Kongxiang fell straight backward almost instantly. The people around her rushed forward and quickly surrounded her. All that could be seen was a crowd of people huddled together.

Suddenly, someone said in the earpiece, "Teacher Liang is injured." Cao Lengyu almost immediately stood up and asked into the walkie-talkie as she walked over, "Is it serious? Where is he injured?"

"Legs," someone said.

The staff had just finished reporting when Cao Lengyu ran up to Liang Kongxiang.

Sitting on the ground, Liang Kongxiang's mouth was white, and her face was covered in dirty rainwater. Gushing blood flowed down her knees to the back of her knees and then gushed down like a broken string, instantly covering the ground with blood. The smell of blood mixed with the smell of the ground and seafood.

She was in so much pain that she couldn't speak. When she saw Cao Lengyu coming over, she just swallowed and gently patted her half-wet calf, a gesture she often used to reassure people.

"Get the hemostatic stuff! What are you standing there for?!" Cao Lengyu snapped, seeing so many people gathered around just staring blankly!

Turning around, he bumped into Zhuang Yexue, who was wearing a mask, and the two of them were stunned.

Zhuang Yexue looked down and saw Liang Kongxiang still sitting on the ground, her face haggard and pale, so fragile that it seemed as if a gentle touch could shatter her into pieces.

The two stared at each other for a few seconds.

Cao Lengyu didn't have time to deal with this. Just as she was about to call the hospital, Zhuang Yexue suddenly said, "You continue filming. I'll take her to get her wound treated."

The crew couldn't stop filming just because one person was injured, but they weren't short enough to ask Zhuang Yexue for help either. Who knows if she was a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Cao Lengyu pretended to be in a difficult position, "She's unfamiliar with the area, it'll be too much trouble for her to make the trip... I'll have Xiao Chang take her."

"It's alright, Yexue can take me there." Liang Kongxiang reached out to Zhuang Yexue, who pulled her up. Liang Kongxiang wrapped her arms around Zhuang Yexue's neck, putting half of her weight on her.

She really is light as a feather. Zhuang Yexue thought to herself, and to help her maintain her balance, she put her right arm around Cao Lengyu's waist and said, "I'll send you the general situation later."

"Thank you for your trouble," Cao Lengyu said, then told Liang Kongxiang, "Call him if you need anything."

The three of them should all know who "he" refers to.

Liang Kongxiang nodded. Zhuang Yexue helped her out of the film set. When she got back into the car, her right side was mostly wet, and a sticky, fishy smell clung to her. She sat in the back seat and wiped herself with a tissue, which turned yellow.

"Thank you for your trouble," Liang Kongxiang said, raising her hand to smell herself, and subtly moving to the side.

Zhuang Yexue didn't say anything. After getting out of the car, she helped her into the hospital for a check-up. Liang Kongxiang didn't try to be brave and made her sit there and wait for her. When she was being helped by Zhuang Yexue for the check-up, she didn't try to change the subject to liven up the atmosphere.

But surprisingly, it wasn't awkward. She thought.

It was still dark, and she wondered all the way there why Zhuang Yexue was on the film set. Was it really just a coincidence that a piece of seaweed on the road tripped her, and Zhuang Yexue appeared just in time to take her to the hospital? But was Zhuang Yexue really that foolish to show up at this time?

“There’s a wheelchair here,” Zhuang Yexue suddenly said, pulling one over.

Liang Kongxiang snapped out of her daze and shuffled to sit down with difficulty, saying, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Zhuang Yexue pushed her into the elevator.

The ward wasn't large, but it was a small private room, bright and clean. There was a short white leather sofa under the window facing the door, and a black-framed television was hanging in front of the bed on the side of the door.

Liang Kongxiang sat down on the hospital bed, her knees wrapped in white gauze. She had little experience in interacting with friends, let alone dealing with people like Zhuang Yexue in private. At this moment, keeping quiet was perhaps the best course of action.

After thinking about it, I sent Jiang Jiaoming an address.

Zhuang Yexue turned on the TV and changed the channel, finally bringing some sound to the ward.

Liang Kongxiang said thank you again, "How much is the medical bill? I'll add you as a friend and transfer the money to you."

Switching to the news channel, Zhuang Yexue put down the remote. "No need for thanks, I didn't intend to help for nothing."

Her frankness made Liang Kongxiang smile. "Really? What do you want?"

"I have a question for you," Zhuang Yexue said, standing by the bed and looking at her. "Is Jiang Jiaoming planning to give you that movie directed by Bei?"

"You'll have to ask Mr. Jiang. My agent hasn't received any offers yet," Liang Kongxiang said honestly.

Zhuang Yexue looked at her suspiciously: "Didn't he mention this project to you?"

"What does Miss Zhuang want me to do?" Liang Kongxiang asked in return.

“You know Jiang Jiaoming’s style. He only cares about interests. If you give him enough benefits, he will choose you,” Liang Kongxiang said.

After a few seconds of silence, Zhuang Yexue scoffed, "You have a pretty nice way of talking. Although I'm not interested in being your flirting tool, to be honest, the reason he invested in this terrible movie is probably because of you."

Liang Kongxiang shook her head, her tone certain: "You're overthinking it. The film itself is good enough. You're welcome to come see it at the premiere."

Just as Zhuang Yexue was about to say something, Liang Kongxiang's phone rang. It was Jiang Jiaoming calling.

Both of them saw the number's note, but Zhuang Yexue remained silent.

Liang Kongxiang held the phone to her ear, and a voice immediately came from the other end, "How are you now? Are you still in pain? What did the doctor say? Is someone with you?"

"It's alright. It hurts a little. The doctor said it's not a big problem, no bones are broken, and surgery isn't needed," she replied to each person, glancing at Zhuang Yexue, "You have someone with you, so take it easy."

Jiang Jiaoming got into the car and wouldn't let Liang Kongxiang hang up the phone, speeding all the way over.

Zhuang Yexue originally wanted to say something sarcastic like "Your relationship is pretty good," but the words got stuck in her throat and wouldn't come up; instead, they lingered on her tongue and produced a slightly bitter taste. She went to get some water.

Liang Kongxiang paused for a moment, then muted the phone and continued talking to Zhuang Yexue: "I don't have an answer to your question. You can ask Jiang Jiaoming in person when he arrives."

Hearing this, Zhuang Yexue swallowed the last mouthful of water before scoffing, "You think I didn't see through his act? He's not sincere at all, and he rarely speaks the truth." She felt that since she met Jiang Jiaoming, she had never truly known him. He often erected a transparent barrier in front of her, visible but never truly approachable.

Even for just one second.

“Miss Zhuang isn’t sincere either, is she?” Liang Kongxiang said calmly, pointing out, “It’s you who’s having illusions about him.”

That's why the expectations were too high, to the point that people forgot his original personality and instead resented his ruthlessness.

Zhuang Yexue paused in her action of putting down the cup, and after a moment of silence, she said, "It's long gone." She glanced at Liang Kongxiang, "Didn't you two get back together?"

“I know what you’re thinking,” Zhuang Yexue said, “but you’re wrong.”

Liang Kongxiang frowned slightly as she looked at her.

Just as Zhuang Yexue was about to say something, the door was suddenly pushed open.

Jiang Jiaoming was breathing rapidly, as if he had run all the way here. His chest was heaving and his hair was disheveled. When he saw Liang Kongxiang sitting on the hospital bed, her knees, which were covered with white gauze, were swollen and her heart felt like it had been hit hard by two rectangular blocks of ice. He slowly walked over, looked down at her for a few seconds, and then squatted down.

He looked up at Liang Kongxiang, raised his hand to tidy her messy hair that was stuck to her face, rubbed away the dirt, touched her face which was always so calm, and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "How did you get hurt again?"

The ward had its windows open, but it seemed completely airtight, like plastic wrap covering Zhuang Yexue from head to toe.

A gentle breeze blew through the square window, making her hair flutter. She stood beside them, looking down at Jiang Jiaoming, the crucial information she was about to tell Liang Kongxiang stuck in her throat.

I felt that saying those words to Jiang Jiaoming might have a better effect.

Since she can't win in love, she might as well use this despicable act to secure her future.

It will also shine.

She thought.

And this brilliance belongs only to himself.

Author's Note: Hint: This chapter connects to Chapters 13 and 14, hehe.

After learning the truth, Liang Kongxiang breathed a sigh of relief: ...I knew all along that it couldn't have been me who bit her on my own initiative.

Jiang Jiaoming (arrogant face) (unyielding): Oh, so what?

Bad guys are up to no good.

Zhuang Yexue (turning around): Who?

Geng Jiali (turning around expressionlessly): Who?

Zhuo Qiyun, standing at the back (confused) (pointing to herself): Huh? Me?

Guess who it is, hehe.
