Secretary Chen sat on a bench in the hospital corridor.
Having brought Xu Zhengxi here, his work for the day should be considered finished.
But just before leaving, I suddenly remembered that I hadn't confirmed the change of tomorrow's itinerary with my supervisor.
So they went up to the hospital building and waited outside the ward.
He never expected to run into Si Kangzhu.
Secretary Chen opened the chat app on her phone and clicked on Si Kangzhu's dark profile picture.
Their conversation ended on the day Secretary Chen accompanied Xu Zhengxi to Beidu.
He asked him why he didn't go to Beidu together.
Si Kangzhu did not reply.
It was as if something had stopped on that day.
The break lasted for a whole month.
Secretary Chen felt a pang of sadness in her heart and suddenly longed to go home.
However, tomorrow's itinerary needs to be confirmed by the leader in advance.
He closed his eyes; he was so tired.
The phone was casually placed on the chair, and Secretary Chen bent over, burying his head in his knees.
He stayed in that position for a while, and didn't look up even when he heard someone pass by.
It wasn't until the ward door opened that he managed to get up, instantly regaining his professional demeanor and asking his supervisor for instructions.
"Schedule the activities for tomorrow morning."
Xu Zhengxi gave instructions to Secretary Chen.
Secretary Chen's forehead was sweating: Should we...remove it?
Does Xu XX not realize how packed his schedule is? How difficult it is to coordinate a forced, crammed arrangement?
Seeing his troubled expression, Xu Zhengxi explained:
"Xu Zhe will have surgery tomorrow morning, and his family must be present."
"Could you please help me make the arrangements?"
When Secretary Chen heard that his superior had specifically explained the reason, he quickly waved his hand:
"It's not hard work at all."
Xu Zhengxi nodded: "I won't eat the takeout, it'll get cold."
After saying that, he walked back to the ward.
Secretary Chen didn't understand: takeout?
Where can I order takeout?
Secretary Chen turned around to get her phone from her chair, but noticed a bowl of takeout pork wontons next to it.
this......?
Secretary Chen looked around to make sure the owner of the wontons was still nearby.
Sure enough, there was no one else in the corridor except him.
Secretary Chen stared at the wontons for two seconds, deep in thought.
These wonton wrappers are the easiest to get soggy; wasting them is truly shameful.
So he opened the box.
The aroma of the oil flowers wafted over him, dispelling his last bit of hesitation.
I've been busy with my boss all day and haven't even had time for dinner.
Secretary Chen had just swallowed a plump wonton when he seemed to come back to life.
Then, I comfortably opened my phone while eating.
The phone screen lit up, revealing the chat interface that hadn't been closed.
A new message is displayed at the bottom of the page:
Eat it while it's hot.
The steaming wonton soup blurred Secretary Chen's vision.
......
Before dawn, the nurses entered the ward and began preparing Xu Zhe for surgery.
Xu Zhe opened his eyes and turned his head to see Xu Zhengxi sleeping on the sofa.
When did he arrive?
Xu Zhe felt a little annoyed that she had slept so soundly. She had so many things she wanted to tell him.
Xu Zhengxi woke up when she heard the noise.
They came to Xu Zhe's side immediately.
"Does it hurt?" he asked her.
Xu Zhe nodded emphatically, but before he could utter a single word, tears streamed down his face like a broken string.
Xu Zhengxi took a breath and pulled the person directly into his arms.
Xu Zhe became coy, slightly pushing him away and glancing warily at the nurse preparing medicine in the outer room.
"Let Si Kangzhu handle Instructor Liu's matter."
"You'll have surgery this morning. I'll wait for you outside. The doctor is very professional, so don't be afraid."
"When you're all better, shall we go out and play?"
Xu Zhengxi spoke slowly and gently, offering a lot of comfort.
Xu Zhe wiped away his tears and nodded.
He shook his head after a moment.
Xu Zhengxi smiled, waiting for her to speak with a look of doting affection.
"I'm not going to Nanshan," she replied to Xu Zhengxi, adding that she would go out to play after she recovered.
Nanshan was truly an ominous place for her; she would never go there again!
"Okay." Xu Zhengxi ruffled her hair.
A short while later, the nurse came in and intubated the patient.
Xu Zhe obediently cooperated.
Outside the operating room
Si Kangzhu stood in front of Xu Zhengxi:
"Young Master, Xu Jinhan's case of gathering a crowd for sexual misconduct has been adjudicated, and she has been sentenced to two years in prison."
Si Kangzhu paused for a moment between the charges.
Xu Jinhan was the principal offender of a crime that even he, a grown man, found difficult to utter.
He was speechless.
Si Kangzhu felt that a two-year sentence was too lenient, and that she should spend more time in prison to cultivate her moral character.
Xu Zhengxi nodded slightly and asked:
"What changes have occurred in the Xu family's business?"
Scon bamboo:
"Xia City has recently increased its investment in R&D and firmware procurement for new energy vehicles. It seems that Xu Jinheng is afraid."
"The gray areas in other industries are also being laundered, and no new problems have been found so far."
Si Kangzhu told the truth.
During this period, he has been investigating and tracking the Xu family's problems.
The Xu family had been a dominant force in the business world for generations, and the complex web of shareholdings and hidden industries took him a great deal of effort to comprehend.
Hsu Cheng-hsi: "Keep an eye on it."
Si Kangzhu: "Yes."
After the two finished talking, Xu Zhengxi stared at the operating room door and the surgical lights on the wall.
Si Kangzhu glanced at the entrance to the waiting room and the end of the corridor.
It seems like they're looking for someone.
The closing ceremony for the new military training camp at Nancheng University has officially begun.
Su Nan and Bei Xiaoyu stood in the line, overjoyed at the impending end of their hard times.
Yang Huanhuan, as an outstanding student, stood in the first row of the class along with another boy who was also recognized as an outstanding student.
