Chapter 56 Beggar's Den

Xu Zhe finally trudged into the classroom.

As soon as he sat down, he slumped onto the desk, panting heavily.

Su Nan and Bei Xiaoyu were burying their heads under their desks, nibbling on a few pieces of bread to fill their stomachs.

Even though they were eating themselves, they didn't forget to throw a piece to Xu Zhe.

"Thank you~" Xu Zhe said weakly.

These two are said to be carefree, yet they are quite caring.

They say they're caring, but sometimes they're really heartless.

Bei Xiaoyu swallowed a bite of bread and asked Xu Zhe in a low voice:

"How much longer will you be using that car and wheelchair?"

Xu Zhe: "About two months."

Bei Xiaoyu continued, "It was bought, not rented, right?"

Upon hearing Xu Zhe's "hmm," Bei Xiaoyu's eyes lit up instantly:

"Can I leave it in my dorm room after it's not in use?"

Xu Zhe: "Huh?"

"This mode of transportation is so convenient! We now have a car even in this huge campus!"

Bei Xiaoyu looked hopeful, her eyes filled with dreams of a wonderful future of campus travel.

Sweat was still dripping from Xu Zhe's forehead, but he forced a smile onto his face.

But even without looking in the mirror, she knew her smile was somewhat bitter.

Class was about to start, and Xu Zhe sat up straight to prepare for her first in-person get out of class.

I looked up and saw Yang Huanhuan, who had entered the classroom almost right as the bell rang.

Beside her was a tall boy.

The two didn't shy away from each other in front of their teachers and classmates, holding hands and interlocking their fingers.

Xu Zhe guessed that the boy must be Jiang Hehe.

Although his skin was tanned, his handsome features were still visible, and his overall demeanor was far superior to that of Instructor Liu.

Although they had been in military training together for half a month, Xu Zhe didn't have much of an impression of the male classmates in his class.

Previously, she only saw Xu Zhengxi as a male and ignored everyone else.

Now, Xu Zhe optimistically thinks that he should be able to take a look around more.

This is probably what it means to lose one tree but gain the whole forest!

While thinking this, my hand unconsciously reached out to swipe on my phone screen.

No phone calls, no messages.

Xu Zhe's heart still ached; Xu Zhengxi truly didn't want her anymore.

Xu Zhe was drowsy after listening to the theory lecture all morning.

I used to attend classes in my hospital bed, and I could lie down when I got tired.

Now I can only support my head with my hands and force myself to stay awake.

She had never been interested in finance, and now that Xu Zhengxi had abandoned her, Xu Zhe wondered if she could also abandon finance.

During the break, she asked Su Nan and Bei Xiaoyu why they chose this major.

Su Nan shrugged: "My mom made me choose."

"What's wrong with your mother?" Xu Zhe asked.

Su Nan said casually, "My mom is the manager of an ordinary branch of a bank in the online shopping free shipping zone. She probably wants me to follow in her footsteps."

Xu Zhe was speechless. Did you really understand what "ordinary" meant?

She then asked Bei Xiaoyu, "And you?"

Bei Xiaoyu, biting her milk straw, said, "I got a high score, so I can apply to whichever major is popular and not waste my points."

Xu Zhe: "You're amazing..."

"And you?" Su Nan asked Xu Zhe.

"My family chose it without explaining why, and I don't like it either," Xu Zhe sighed silently.

She attended the classes for a month, but still didn't develop a liking for them.

I dislike it even less now!

“Then you can change your major,” Su Nan said.

"Huh?" Xu Zhe had never thought of this before. "You can change it after you enroll?"

Su Nan: "Sure, but you have to wait until you finish your first year of university. You can apply to the school."

"Okay!" Xu Zhe made up his mind.

"Moreover, changing majors doesn't necessarily mean changing dormitories; you don't have to move," Su Nan added.

"Then what are we waiting for!" Xu Zhe's eyes lit up. "I'm switching! I'm not studying finance anymore!"

After the morning classes ended, the three returned to their dormitory.

They packed their lunch and ate it back in their dorm.

Xu Zhe had been eating nutritional meals for too long, and finally got to enjoy some spicy hot pot while drinking a soft drink. Life couldn't be more pleasant!

Who still cares about Hsu Cheng-hsi!

Xu Zhe took a bite of the meatball, but didn't control his strength well, and the meat juice inside sprayed out, splashing all over him.

Just as she was about to grab a tissue to wipe it, she heard the dormitory door click shut.

The three of them looked in the direction of the sound and met Yang Huanhuan's disgusted face at the door.

Xu Zhe paused for a moment, then continued wiping his clothes with tissues.

Yang Huanhuan swung her arms wildly, making gestures in front of herself.

What do you guys eat in the dorm?!

She frowned and pinched her nose.

The way they looked made it seem like the three of them were eating shit.

Su Nan was quite open and generous:

"Have you tried mala tang (spicy hot pot)? Want some?"

Yang Huanhuan closed her eyes, turned her head to the corridor, took a deep breath, and then quickly walked in and opened the window.

It looks like they're actually eating shit.

That wasn't all. After opening the window and seeing the makeshift bed on the floor, Yang Huanhuan exclaimed, "Oh dear!"

"What is this?" Yang Huanhuan asked them, frowning.

Xu Zhe forced a smile: "I can't climb to the top bunk because of my leg injury, so I'll sleep on the floor for now."

"My God!" Yang Huanhuan's eyes were practically overflowing with disgust.

Xu Zhe: "......"

She noticed a significant change in Yang Huanhuan after a month in the hospital.

She's practically a different person from the girl who was new here and didn't express herself much.

Judging from her disgusted expression, it was as if Xu Zhe hadn't just slept on the floor, but had actually defecated there...

Xu Zhe wanted to explain that it would only be two months, and she would put away the floor mat once her leg injury had healed.

Before she could speak, Yang Huanhuan answered the phone.

Her phone wasn't a basic model, but it was still very loud.

The person on the other end of the phone called her, "Baby~"
