Chapter 153 Praying Like an Ascetic

Su Nian landed, holding the critically ill Qian Shudie in her arms.

When he saw Qian Shudie, her lips pale and her forehead covered in sweat, trembling as she uttered those words, he felt as if something deep within him had been deeply touched.

Valiant?

He gave a wry smile.

He held Qian Shudie's hand and landed on a barren piece of land.

"I've never been brave... Book Disc."

"I just... don't want to lose to fate like this..."

He held Qian Shudie's hand tightly.

Qian Shudie smiled at him, her voice barely audible as she spoke, “Hmm… I believe in you, you can definitely do it… After all, you yourself are a miracle.”

Su Nian felt her heart clench sharply, as if a string had been touched.

"The storyteller said...you are the reincarnation of the Immortal Emperor of Reincarnation...I think, since you are the Immortal Emperor in heaven, you must have your own mission in coming to the mortal world, right?" Qian Shudie choked on blood and gently stroked Su Nian's cheek with her pale hand, her fingertips leaving a trace of blood as they traced across her face.

"Saving all living beings...is that your mission? You are a hero to the world, and my hero too..." She forced a smile, tears welling in her eyes, and said, "Being able to have a wedding with a hero...is the happiest thing in my life..."

As he finished speaking, his hand gently fell to his sides.

Su Nian grabbed the hand that was about to fall and pressed it against her face.

“I am not a hero, much less a miracle…” he choked up, gently rubbing Qian Shudie’s face with his chin, “The me you see is not the same as I was from the beginning.”

No one responded...

In this desolate wilderness, the only life died in his arms.

Unbeknownst to them, they had already crossed fifty kilometers of sea and arrived on land at the foot of the Immortal Mountain.

He looked up at the towering mountain that connected heaven and earth, and picked up Qian Shudie in his arms.

He gently kissed the lifeless Qian Shudie on the forehead and said softly, "Shudie, we've arrived at Immortal Mountain. Wait for me, I'll find you the Immortal Mountain Spring right away."

After saying that, he began to walk alone in this vast wilderness, heading towards the direction of the Immortal Realm Mountain.

Here, one cannot fly or run; one can only rely on one's own two legs to leave one footprint after another until reaching the foot of the Immortal Mountain.

Yellow sand flew across the sky, brushing past the ascetics.

He carried Qian Shudie's body, walking step by step through this vast wilderness.

Su Nian didn't know how long she had been gone.

The sun and moon alternate, and the seasons change.

He carefully protected Qian Shudie's body with his spiritual energy to prevent her from decaying prematurely.

In the vast wilderness grow many red petals, their beauty beyond words, blooming and fading with the seasons.

When a strong wind blows, these petals will flutter and fly.

They flew past the ears of the devout, and flew to even more distant places.

The Immortal Realm Mountain is ethereal and indistinct, visible but unattainable.

Even though they had already set foot on this vast wilderness, and the Immortal Realm Mountain seemed within reach, after traveling tens of thousands of miles, it was still far away.

Su Nian continued to move forward, never stopping her steps.

As he walked, red petals blew by, as if carrying someone's whisper.

"Go back. This is not a place for mortals."

Su Nian ignored him and continued walking.

"There's no celestial spring here at all! The girl in your arms is long dead! Why are you still so persistent?"

Su Nian continued on her way.

"Look back at how far you've come! Although you seem to be moving forward, you're actually just standing still! Keep going like this! Even if it's a hundred years! A thousand years! Ten thousand years! You'll only ever stay here!"

Su Nian stopped in her tracks.

Just as the voice was about to mock her, Su Nian started walking again.

His pace quickened even more than before.

"It seems that if I don't teach you a lesson, you'll continue to disregard the majesty of the immortals."

The moment the words fell, it felt as if a thousand mountains were pressing down on Su Nian's shoulders, causing him to stumble.

He struggled to support his body, the immense pressure making it almost impossible for him to breathe. He gasped for air, his legs trembling uncontrollably.

"This is a warning! Take another step forward, and you'll die a horrible death!"

Su Nian stood up, trembling.

He carried the immense pressure and continued forward.

boom!

An even stronger pressure suddenly descended from the sky; this was the mighty power of a true immortal, almost crushing all the organs inside his body.

Su Nian coughed up a mouthful of black blood, staining the barren soil black.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and took his third step.

The subsequent fourth step, fifth step...

"Halt! This is a sacred ground for immortals! It is inviolable! How dare you mortals bring a dead body here and defile it?!"

Su Nian continued to move forward step by step, the sixth step, the seventh step...

"If you don't stop now, I'll make sure you all die a gruesome death!"

Su Nian continued to move forward, like a walking corpse.

"Aren't you going to stop?! You..."

Step 8, Step 9...

He arrived at the foot of the real fairy mountain.

Only then did the mountain god who guarded this realm notice Su Nian's face.

His pupils were unfocused and dilated; he had lost consciousness.

He held Qian Shudie's body tightly, muttering incessantly.

"Save her...go to the Immortal Mountain Spring...save her...go to the Immortal Mountain Spring..."
