Chapter 163 Ghost Marriage (Part Two)

Same location, different time, same two people, completely different identities.

This scene inevitably evoked emotions in Qian Shudie.

She remembered that the last time she was putting on makeup in front of the mirror, Su Nian secretly slipped in through the window.

He was dressed in white at the time, not in a festive groom's outfit.

"Humans are humans, and demons are demons. We are born different species. I still have many unfinished missions on my shoulders. If I were to marry you today, it would disrupt many of my plans."

The voice of Su Nian from the past floated into Qian Shudie's mind, and she slowed down her pace of applying makeup.

Her eyebrows drooped slightly, and a hint of sorrow crept into her expression.

"I'm sorry... humans and demons are incompatible, I hope you can understand that."

She gently closed her eyes, as if to shut out the whole world.

A slight upturn at the corners of her lips formed a faint, helpless smile. The smile was so serene, yet tinged with endless sorrow. Her voice was so low it was almost inaudible, as if she were whispering to herself: "But... even though humans and demons are different, you still rashly chose me this time, didn't you? I'm sorry, Brother Su Nian, for causing you trouble..."

Qian Shudie's hands stopped, her actions of drawing her eyebrows abruptly halted. Her eyes became empty and lifeless, as if she had lost her soul. She sat there quietly, motionless, lost in thought.

Time ticked by, but Qian Shudie remained silent. She seemed lost in her own thoughts, unable to pull herself out. Everything around her blurred, but the deep guilt and helplessness in her heart grew ever clearer.

On the other side, Mo Rouyun sensed that Su Nian had arrived at the villa and hurriedly urged him on.

"Is it not finished yet? Book Disc, how about we use illusion magic to deal with it for now?"

Qian Shudie picked up the eyebrow pencil again and gently outlined the shape of her eyebrows.

Her movements were gentle and meticulous, as if she were depicting a precious work of art. With each stroke, she spoke with deep apology, smiling and saying, "Just the last stroke, almost done." Finally, after making the last stroke, Mo Rouyun slowly placed the red veil over Qian Shudie's head.

Outside the door, Su Nian, dressed in a vibrant red robe, illuminated the entire courtyard like a flame. He walked step by step to Qian Shudie's door and knocked on the gate. "Fourth Elder, I've come to fetch the bride." His voice was clear and resonant, with a strong penetrating power, reaching Mo Rouyun's ears clearly even from a great distance.

"Coming, coming!" Mo Rouyun quickly responded. She carefully helped Qian Shudie up, whispering in her ear repeatedly, "You absolutely must remember! During the wedding ceremony, you mustn't move around! Don't worry, with my disguise, he'll never realize you've come back to life! Got it?"

Qian Shudie nodded slightly, indicating that she understood. Her feelings were very complicated, a mixture of anticipation for the future and nervousness and unease.

She softly uttered a "hmm".

“‘Hmm,’ that won’t do! From now on, you need to relax your whole body and imagine yourself as a lifeless corpse!”

Qian Shudie grasped the key point, and her head seemed to suddenly lose its support, drooping forward violently.

"Yes, yes! That's how it is."

Seeing this, Mo Rouyun nodded in satisfaction, then straightened Qian Shudie's head, and used her powerful immortal energy to support the bones in her body. Then she pushed open the door and led her out of the courtyard.

The courtyard gate was wide open, and when Su Nian saw Qian Shudie, wearing a red veil and a headscarf, slowly walking towards her with Mo Rouyun's support, she couldn't help but feel a little dazed.

Su Nian only snapped out of his daze when Mo Rouyun helped Qian Shudie walk up to him.

"Stunned?" Mo Rouyun smiled slyly.

Su Nian smiled and nodded, then pointed to the bridal sedan chair and said, "It's almost time, shall we escort the bride to the sedan chair?"

Mo Rouyun nodded, then helped Qian Shudie into the bridal sedan chair.

Su Nian rode a white horse at the head of the procession, and with a shout of "Giddy up!", they headed towards the main courtyard of the Illusion Demon Clan.

As the sound of a suona horn rang out, they stopped in front of the main courtyard.

Here, countless guests were seated in all directions, and everyone heard the cheerful music mixed with the suona horns on their backs, all looking towards the direction of the courtyard gate.

The gate slowly opened, and three figures appeared from the other side of the gate.

Su Nian and Qian Shudie walked side by side. To Qian Shudie's right rear, Mo Rouyun supported her, as if controlling a puppet, and moved forward with her.

In Su Nian's and Qian Shudie's hands, each held a long red ribbon with a festive red flower in the center. Without any complicated customs, the two of them walked slowly towards the stage, step by step.

Many sighs and head-shaking could be heard from the VIP section.

"How absurd! A dead demon princess marrying a powerful human—a truly bizarre event!"

"Just a few days ago, the two realms were fighting fiercely, and today they held a world-shaking wedding. This Su Nian... is truly a strange person."

"If this marriage really goes through today, it will not only be a slap in the face for our demon race, but also a resounding slap in the face for the human race."

Su Nian has excellent hearing, but he ignored it and continued to walk slowly towards the stage with Qian Shudie.

At the human table, everyone fell silent.

Xu Xinrou stared blankly at Su Nian's resolute face. At this moment, she felt as if her heart had become empty.
