Chapter 31 Tender Feelings

Su Nian lay flat on a soft patch of grass, a refreshing breeze brushing against his face, and warm sunlight filtering through the trees, casting dappled patterns on his body.

He slowly opened his eyes, sat up, stretched, and felt refreshed.

"Oh, the Emperor has woken up?"

A teasing laugh reached my ears.

Without turning around, Su Nian knew who was behind her.

He also knew exactly where he was.

"How is Ye Hua?"

He stood up as he asked.

They were under a giant tree in the middle of the vast grassland. As far as he could see, a woman in a black gauze dress sat on a swing, sitting leisurely with her legs crossed, swinging slowly.

She sat very steadily, remaining motionless no matter how the swing swayed. Her long black hair fell naturally down her back. She had a princess cut hairstyle, a red bracelet on the back of her fair hand, and a pair of red high heels on her feet.

In response to Ye Hua's question, Qian Weiwei simply chuckled and replied, "I'm just seriously injured. You can't possibly kill me, can you?"

"Really? I knew it..." Su Nian was somewhat disappointed.

However, this was within his expectations.

He looked around and asked, "You modified the little world inside my body?"

"Yes, it's too quiet here. I don't like living here. If you change it to this style, it will be more comfortable to live here."

"Whatever, I can't control you anyway. You're all alone here, so do whatever you want," Su Nian said indifferently.

Qian Weiwei smiled and said, "This battle has attracted divine punishment, but you have forcefully repelled it. I'm afraid that from now on you will be targeted by the Heavenly Dao, and the path to immortality will only become more difficult."

Su Nian smiled indifferently, "It doesn't matter, come on then! So what if I don't become an immortal? If I were obsessed with becoming an immortal, I would have ascended long ago. Why would I bother reincarnating in the mortal world?"

“That’s true…” Qian Weiwei chuckled softly. “Speaking of which, we do have some similarities. If I wanted to become an immortal, I could have ascended long ago. It’s just a pity that I also have a great grudge to avenge.”

"Is the person who harmed you a thousand years ago still alive?"

"I don't know either, but if you give me a chance, I'll find him eventually," Qian Weiwei said, and the swing stopped.

She stepped onto the grass, came to Su Nian's side, and placed her hand on his chest.

"Alright, enough of this small talk, it's time for you to wake up."

With that, she gave a gentle push, and Su Nian's body began to float backward smoothly like a balloon, soaring into the sky.

As Su Nian receded into the distance, Qian Weiwei finally asked, "Speaking of which, how many more tricks are you hiding?"

Su Nian did not answer the question.

These methods were actually the earliest preparations I made for the future.

He recalled how he used to desperately prepare backup plans, and couldn't help but feel a pang of emotion.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the moment he would open them again.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw an unfamiliar ceiling.

He lay on a soft, large bed, a fragrant aroma filling his nostrils. He tried to get up to check his surroundings, but found himself experiencing excruciating pain.

He gave a wry smile, sighing inwardly that he still couldn't overdraw his reincarnation power, and lay down again.

"Junior Brother Su, don't move around if you're injured. Just lie down and rest."

A familiar voice reached her ears, and Su Nian turned her head to see a woman dressed in green.

Xu Xinrou brought hot water to the bedside, wet and wrung out a towel, and gently wiped Su Nian's cheeks.

"Senior Sister Xu, is this your room?" Su Nian asked.

Xu Xinrou paused for a moment and then hummed in agreement.

Su Nian teased, "Didn't you never let me into your room? Why did you let me lie down here today?"

"I don't usually let you in because you're a man. How can I easily let you into a woman's boudoir?" Xu Xinrou said calmly.

"And now?"

"It's because you're injured now." Her tone remained calm, as if she didn't care about the matter at all.

However, Su Nian noticed with her keen sense that Xu Xinrou's hand movements quickened when she said those words.

"Oh, is that so? What a pity. So it was an order. I thought it was because Senior Sister Xu cared about me." Su Nian's face was devoid of any joy, her voice was filled with regret, and her face was expressionless.

This reaction caused Xu Xinrou a strange sting.

Subconsciously trying to fill in the void left by Su Nian's recent grievances, she changed her words and said, "If Senior Sister Xu didn't say it was because she cared about you, would you be sad?"

"There are only six disciples on Liuli Peak. If even Senior Sister Xu doesn't care about me, I might as well be dead..."

Halfway through her sentence, Su Nian felt a jade-like hand cover her mouth.

He looked at Xu Xinrou, and their eyes met. He saw deep worry in Xu Xinrou's eyes.

"You are not allowed to say the word 'death'!"

Su Nian, with her mouth covered, hummed in response.

Xu Xinrou released Su Nian's mouth, her gaze gentle and her voice soft, "Don't overthink it, junior brother. Your senior sister cares about you. You must live well. Those who bullied you, your senior sister will teach them a lesson one by one!"

Su Nian smiled and said, "Thank you, Senior Sister."

Su Nian might not believe it if others said it, but she believed it without a doubt when Xu Xinrou said it.

If we're talking about who treats him the best in the entire Quanxiu, besides the Fourth Elder, it's Xu Xinrou.

The Fourth Elder's affection for him was like a mother's affection for her son, while Xu Xinrou's affection for him was more like an older sister's affection for her younger brother.
