Chapter 4 The Girl in the Doghouse
She still remembers how she froze for a moment when he said those words, and a sense of unease welled up inside her.
That feeling left a deep impression on her and remains unforgettable to this day.
...
Luo Tingwei pulled herself out of her memories.
Unexpectedly, three years later, she ended up in this man's hands by sheer coincidence.
She thought sadly that she was finished.
He had humiliated her so much before, and now he might get what he deserved.
"Hurry up and get to work, don't slack off!"
Seeing that her subordinates were slacking off, a maid quickly stepped forward and scolded them.
Upon hearing this, Luo Tingwei immediately perked up.
By the time she finished mopping the floor, it was already past nine o'clock at night.
The kitchen left her two steamed buns, which were already cold and hard. Luo Tingwei had been working for so long and was really hungry, so she forced herself to eat one of the buns.
Unsteady on her feet, Luo Tingwei returned to her room and got into bed, only to be startled to find the area under the bed damp.
There's water? How come there's water?
Was this someone's prank?
Luo Tingwei got goosebumps all over; she definitely wouldn't be able to sleep now.
She stepped out of the room. The villa was quiet; no one was there. Everyone was resting.
She dared not sleep on the sofa; she knew her current status.
As she walked down the path, she noticed a small nest in the garden by the entrance, with a soft carpet on the ground.
She walked over and stepped on it; it was quite soft, and she figured she could manage to sleep on it for the night.
When Li Yanzhou got home, he felt something golden flash by at the door, which stood out prominently in the dim light.
Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be coming from the doghouse.
As he got closer, he realized it was actually Luo Tingwei's rose gold hair reflecting the light.
What is she doing here?
Li Yanzhou's heart skipped a beat. He saw Luo Tingwei hugging him, curled up in the doghouse, looking like she was sleeping soundly.
The temperature may not be high at night.
Li Yanzhou frowned slightly and walked over.
"Wake up."
He kicked her.
Luo Tingwei did not wake up.
He bent down and patted her face, his voice becoming a few decibels louder.
The woman's eyelashes trembled slightly, and after a few seconds she slowly opened her eyes, looking at him with innocent and bewildered eyes.
Li Yanzhou? He's back.
Upon realizing this, Luo Tingwei immediately shuddered.
Why are you sleeping here?
Li Yanzhou looked down at her, his voice devoid of emotion.
"My bed is wet, I can't sleep."
She told the truth honestly.
"Is the bed wet?"
The man narrowed his eyes, his tone filled with doubt.
"Perhaps one of the maids disliked me and secretly poured water on my bed."
Upon hearing this, Li Yanzhou's eyes darkened imperceptibly, but the next second, he curled his lips into a mocking smile.
"So, you've been sleeping in this doghouse?"
Luo Tingwei blinked, her expression seemingly blank and unaware. A few seconds later, she realized something...
This is actually a doghouse?!
Just as she was filled with surprise, the man's teasing voice suddenly rang in her ears again.
"You're quite sensible. I told you to be like a puppy, and you actually voluntarily slept in a doghouse. Miss Luo, you really surprised me."
His words humiliated her again, like an invisible slap across her face.
After saying that, the man chuckled and left without paying her any attention, as if everything that had happened here had nothing to do with him.
Achoo!
He had only taken a few steps when a loud sneeze came, and he instinctively stopped in his tracks.
As if possessed, he turned his head slightly and saw Luo Tingwei hugging him tightly, her body seemingly trembling.
The man's expression faltered slightly, and his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.
Damn it, why is she trembling? She's acting so pitiful, I don't know if it's real or an act.
This is truly bizarre.
Every time she trembled, it felt as if she could shake his very soul out of his body.
He pondered for a moment and finally concluded that letting her get cold would only make things worse, and he would have to call a doctor for her, which would be a lot of trouble.
Thinking this, he turned around and strode towards her.
Just when Luo Tingwei thought she wouldn't make it through the night, a heavy coat came crashing down on her.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that, little princess. Don't catch a cold."
A slightly playful male voice came from above.
...
Unbeknownst to her, upon returning to the villa, all the servants were summoned.
Li Yanzhou sat on the sofa with a livid face. A maid who had made a mistake was kneeling in front of him, and he lowered his head deeply.
“Aunt Wu, teach her a lesson and make her realize who she is.”
"Yes, young master."
Wu Ma responded and then stepped forward to start slapping the maid's face.
The maid bit her lip tightly, afraid to make a sound.
Out of jealousy of Luo Tingwei's beauty, she secretly poured a glass of water on Luo Tingwei's bed during the day.
Anyway, the young master loathes her to the extreme, so I suppose no one cares whether she lives or dies.
Unexpectedly, in the middle of the night, Li Yanzhou suddenly started investigating this matter, and she was immediately brought up in the open.
Li Yanzhou did not call a halt, and Wu Ma did not dare to stop whipping him.
Blood was seeping from the corner of the maid's mouth, and her once fair face was now a horrifying sight, indistinguishable from a ghost.
The other maids were terrified and lowered their heads, fearing they would be the next ones to suffer.
Two minutes later, Li Yanzhou finally called for a stop.
"Aunt Wu, get rid of him. The rest of you, disperse."
Li Yanzhou rubbed the bridge of his nose wearily, then got up and left.

After taking a shower, the man casually wrapped himself in a bathrobe and stood in front of the large French windows.
He heard the whistling of the wind outside the window.
Soon, a light drizzle began to fall again.
It must be very cold outside, he thought.
After finishing a glass of red wine, he turned off the light and went to bed.
But for some reason, hearing the sound of rain outside, he tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep.
It's so noisy.
Li Yanzhou sat up in bed, a strange sense of irritation welling up inside him.
...
From inside the doghouse came the soft sobbing of a girl.
Ever since Li Yanzhou left, Luo Tingwei hadn't been able to sleep. The increasingly loud wind and rain only added to the noise, making it harder for her to fall asleep, and she was also shivering from the cold.
Unable to sleep, she couldn't help but think about her father's safety.
My own situation is already so bad, how can my father be any better off?
Just then, footsteps were heard.
Luo Tingwei hurriedly closed her eyes and held her breath.
The footsteps stopped in front of her. After a moment, she thought she had misheard, and then she heard a faint sigh above her head.
The next second, she felt a lightness in her body and was suddenly picked up.
A faint woody scent follows.
Luo Tingwei was too nervous to open her eyes, wondering what trick Li Yanzhou was playing.
Li Yanzhou carried her all the way up to the second floor and into his bedroom.
Luo Tingwei keenly sensed the changes happening around her, and her heart leaped into her throat.
He wouldn't be thinking of...
no!
Just as she was about to open her eyes, she was put on the ground.
The wool blanket on the floor came into close contact with my skin.
The room was warm, so warm that she wanted to cry.
Li Yanzhou smiled slightly, thinking he had done the greatest mercy, and went back to bed.
She doesn't deserve to sleep in his bed.
However, when Luo Tingwei woke up the next day, her screams echoed throughout the entire bedroom.
"Blood……?"
When she opened her eyes, she was startled to see a large bloodstain on the wool blanket beneath her.
