Chapter 20: Alone

Chapter 20: Alone

"Where?"

When Shen Nanxing received Huo Yunting's questioning, he was enjoying the breeze by the river.

Although extremely reluctant, Ana Shen still sent him a location.

The river wind was howling, and Shen Nanxing looked at the river calmly, letting her hair become messy. It seemed that in the three years in Jiangcheng, she had never thought of her home there once.

The scenery on both sides of the river is completely different.

The wind in Jiangcheng is so strong that it makes my eyelashes flutter. It is nothing like the wind at home.

She stretched out her hand towards the sunshine, facing the river breeze, turned her wrist and gently clenched it, trying to hold something.

There were subtle footsteps behind him, and Ana Shen didn't expect Huo Yunting to really come.

But she just glanced at him and continued to look into the distance.

Huo Yunting was filled with anger and wanted to take the opportunity to vent, but Jiang Feng held her hair in his palm. A strange feeling arose in his heart, and his anger inexplicably dissipated.

"Are you missing home?" Huo Yunting asked softly, following her gaze towards the other side.

There was nothing there except the endless river.

He came here just to question her about finding a job, but he didn't expect that he couldn't bear to disturb the tranquility in front of him at this moment.

"The buildings over there are very low, unlike in Jiangcheng, where you can see tall buildings from far away. That's why people in Jiangcheng call this river the 'Golden Money River.'"

Shen Nanxing rarely wanted to talk. Maybe people always like to talk about random things when they are sad.

Huo Yunting stared at her with his dark eyes. "Do you also think that it was the Jinqian River that blew the wealth from the other side to Jiangcheng?"

"That's just nonsense."

The wind by the river was cold and strong, not at all as gentle as on the other side. They were two completely different places.

Shen Nanxing rubbed his arms tremblingly, and inadvertently saw Huo Yunting pause in taking off his coat. He didn't know what he thought of, but put it back on.

"The place where I used to live had a nice name."

It was rare for her to bring it up on her own initiative, so Huo Yunting responded without disappointment, "Oh?"

“It’s called Fawntown.”

Ana Shen glanced at Huo Yunting and found that he was looking into the distance and didn't seem to be listening, but it didn't prevent her from recalling, "If you are lucky, you can even see the white deer known as the protector of the town. It is snow-white and has big eyes. If you can touch it, you will have peace and good luck for the rest of your life."

Speaking of this, the corners of her mouth couldn't help but rise, and there was a hint of nostalgia in her eyes.

When she was a child, in order to catch a white deer, her grandfather took her to wait in the snow for three days. They almost got lost, but fortunately they got what they wanted.

But when I grew up, my wish for peace came true, but my fate was always full of misfortunes.

Listening to her description, Huo Yunting suddenly thought that the yard of the villa was large enough to raise one, and he blurted it out almost subconsciously.

"If you want, I can give you one."

A strong wind blew by, and Huo Yunting's voice had been weakened by half when he spoke, and only scattered tail sounds reached Shen Nanxing's ears.

Shen Nanxing did not delve into what the other party said, but instead took the initiative to leave.

It's too cold here.

But after she took her first step, Huo Yunting was still reluctant to move.

A word of dissatisfaction came into Shen Nanxing's ears.

"You've lived on the other side for so long, haven't you ever thought about going back?" Huo Yunting stood in the sunshine, but his whole body exuded an elusive depth.

She took a deep breath and naturally wanted to go back.

Just not now.

She didn't dare to tell Huo Yunting what was in her heart, and only said: "I'm used to living here."

He suddenly asked what this sentence meant. Also, his company was in the city center, so why did she suddenly come to find him? Could it be that he found out about her job search?
