Chapter 108 Reading Session

For the next ten days, Yan Zi and Feng Xiaoyun lived a very simple and fulfilling life every day.

Every day a different drama teacher would teach Yan Zi some skills on stage.

There are physical changes, dialogue changes, and facial expressions.

Some of these skills will be very useful for Yan Zi's future performances in film and television dramas, while some may not be very useful for the time being. However, Yan Zi is like a sponge, trying hard to absorb everything taught by the teachers.

Sometimes she really wanted to take notes, but Chen Fei stubbornly refused. In his words, you can never learn something if you write it down, but you will never forget something if you write it down carefully.

No matter what kind of people these teachers are, once they are on the stage, they all have their own charm, and Yan Zi has indeed learned a lot from them.

As for Feng Xiaoyun, there was not much difference from the first day, except that the number of people lying on the table increased from two to three. In addition to Feng Xiaoyun and the drama troupe leader and director Du Sixi, there was also the screenwriter Mingtian.

Sometimes the bored Grandpa Niu at the door would join in. Ever since Feng Xiaoyun gave him a high-end hearing aid, Grandpa could hear everything clearly and now he loves to talk to people.

The incident of the four-happiness dumplings that the two of them had caused in the reception room at the door had become a laughing stock in the drama troupe, and members of the troupe would often ask Feng Xiaoyun during meals whether he had eaten the four-happiness dumplings that day.

"Alright!" Du Sixi closed the script. "Every time I discuss the script with you guys, it gives me a headache. I won't participate in script discussions anymore."

"Come on, I heard that 20 years ago." Screenwriter Mingtian didn't give him any face. The two had worked together for so many years, one screenwriter and the other director, and had long become close comrades.

Du Sixi ignored him and took the microphone from his desk and said, "Stop what you're doing and get on stage. Our new script is out and we're going to have a reading."

After saying that, he stood up and stretched: "Oh, I'm getting old and my health is really failing. Xiaoyun, please make ten copies of this script."

"Okay, why didn't you tell me earlier? I'll get a batch of massage tables and chairs someday and replace one for everyone." Feng Xiaoyun took the script and walked to the printer at the door.

"That's a good feeling!"

Du Sixi knew that Feng Xiaoyun was a very generous guy. After he came, he gave a lot of things to the group. If you don't refuse, he will keep nagging at you.

I said it tomorrow that he is so eloquent that the drama troupe seems not suitable for him, and he should be introduced to perform crosstalk.

Later, everyone realized that Feng Xiaoyun's gift was sincere and that he was humble and polite, so they accepted it. Anyway, it was a shame to take advantage of someone else, so at most, he would just pay a little more attention when teaching Yan Zi.

Yan Zi and Feng Xiaoyun hang out in the drama troupe every day. As people who try to figure out people's psychology and micro-expressions, how could they not know the other's little thoughts? Although they say they are just friends, they often joke around with each other.

After a while, the two stopped arguing.

A few people came to the stage from the backstage. The other members of the drama troupe were already sitting in a circle. Only two seats were reserved at the top, which were naturally reserved for the troupe leader and the screenwriter in the troupe tomorrow.

A seat naturally became empty next to Yan Zi, and Feng Xiaoyun walked straight over and sat down.

"Who told you to sit here?" Yan Zi asked softly with a slightly red face.

"Where else can I sit if not here? Isn't this the only seat available?"

Feng Xiaoyun didn't care about her. He just sat down and handed her the script in his hand.

"Okay, the scripts are all sorted out. Let's take a look." The troupe leader Du Sixi said, "Xiao Yun sent two scripts this time, one for 'Phoenix Lute' and the other for 'Beautiful Big Feet'."

"But we had to rehearse the script for the consolation performance first, so I chose 'Beautiful Big Feet.' The reason was because 'The Phoenix Lute' touched on the issue of teachers becoming regular teachers. To be honest, that's a very sensitive issue, and we can't resolve it. So in the end, I chose 'Beautiful Big Feet.'"

"But both of these works are excellent. Come, let's applaud and thank Brother Feng Xiaoyun for sending us these two excellent scripts."

"Not really, not really, Captain Du." Feng Xiaoyun quickly stopped him: "Let's read the script first."

A group of people clapped and laughed for a while before they stopped and started looking at their scripts.

This script is not like a novel. It's basically someone saying something, and then someone else saying something else.

There is very little description of the environment, especially in dramas. Generally, there are a few fixed scenes based on the number of acts. For example, if they perform in the mountains, the background will be even simpler, with just a few different spray-painted canvases to show different scenes.

However, there were no outsiders present, and they had seen countless scripts like this, so the scene soon became quiet.

Only Yan Zi would occasionally ask Feng Xiaoyun beside him a few questions when he encountered an abrupt turn in the conversation.

"The script is really good. It's hard to imagine that it was written by a young man in his twenties." Chen Fei, who was the first to finish reading it, closed the script. He certainly knew that the troupe leader and the screenwriter had been revising the script with Feng Xiaoyun and the other two recently, but this was the first time he had seen the script.

After reading it, I was really shocked. The descriptions of the dialogues between many characters were so vivid. In fact, there are no perfect characters in it. Everyone has their own desires and shortcomings. But it is precisely because of this that the story seems more real and credible.

"Well, actually, a lot of the credit goes to Captain Du and screenwriter Mingtian. The first version I brought was actually quite terrible. Teacher Chen, you are reading the revised version, so please stop praising me." Feng Xiaoyun said modestly.

My dear, there is more to this chapter. Please click on the next page to continue reading. It will be even more exciting later!
