In the next few days, the two went to Jiangdu Entertainment together in the morning and went back together after practicing singing in the afternoon.
Chen Mei knew that Feng Xiaoyun was now Yan Zi's assistant, and she often invited him over for dinner.
Feng Xiaoyun was quite happy about it and offered to pay for living expenses, but was rejected by Chen Mei. Later, he had no choice but to buy some food from the supermarket from time to time and bring it back.
One day, Huang Yinyin discovered that the two of them always went to the company together in the morning and left together in the evening, which ignited a raging fire of gossip. However, Yan Zi coldly said that they were just neighbors.
And so, time came to Friday, the second round of the Century Supernova live competition.
Not only did the elderly couple Chen Mei sit in front of the TV, but Yan Zi's parents also switched their shifts with their colleagues and sat together in the high-speed rail lounge to watch their daughter appear on TV for the first time.
First, of course, the host came out with a barrage of chatter, as if he'd borrowed the words from someone and had to return them quickly. He rattled off all sorts of names like sponsor, star promoter, chief, exclusive, etc.
Yan Zi's father, Yan Mingyu, lowered his head to drink a sip of tea, and when he looked up again, he had finished babble, and no one knew what he said.
Then they started to form groups. In this round, the players competed against each other in pairs. The drawing method was also very interesting. The sixteen players from number one to eight chose a player from number nine to sixteen one by one to play rock-paper-scissors.
Then the eight people who win the rock-paper-scissors game will each draw two numbers from the lottery box. These eight groups of numbers will become eight pairs of players who will compete against each other.
The host gave a passionate commentary, making the draw and grouping seem like a grand event. In the middle, there was even a round of advertisements, which made Yan Yuming anxious. He kept asking why the groups had not been drawn yet.
Finally the camera turned to Yan Zi, and the person playing rock-paper-scissors with her was a girl.
In the first round, both of them played paper, and in the second round, Yan Zi kept his hand stretched out. The girl opposite was stunned for a moment, then carefully played scissors, and then won the rock-paper-scissors game.
"Hey, look at him, look at him, why does this kid seem to be so indifferent to everyone?" Yan Yuming asked with a disappointed look on his face.
"That's her temper. Hey, with that kind of temper, she still insists on joining the entertainment industry. Can she make it?" Yan Zi's mother Li Lan was speechless. She really didn't know who her daughter looked like. Both of them worked on the train, which was considered a public service industry. They always greeted everyone with a smile.
Although Yan Zi often followed Chen Mei and her husband next door when he was a child, Chen Mei and her husband were both warm-hearted people, and even Ma Dong's child was very lively.
Thinking of Ma Dong, the couple felt sad again. When they received the news that Ma Dong was in trouble, they were still thousands of kilometers away from Jiangdu and had no time to rush back.
"Hey, it's out, it's out, the groups are out. Yanyan is number 16, and her opponent is number 5. So the one who's going to compete in the fifth team is her, right?"
"Yes, that's right, it's the fifth one to come out."
"Okay, you watch here, I'll go for a walk first." Yan Yuming was not interested in the singing and dancing of these young people. Since his daughter was the fifth one, he planned to go for a walk and come back to watch.
At the recording site, Huang Yinyin patted her chest and exclaimed that she was lucky. She was the seventh pair to go on stage, and not being matched up with Yan Zi was her biggest luck. This made the younger brother who was competing against her very angry.
"How is it? Are you nervous?" Feng Xiaoyun asked as she stood beside Yan Zi. She was now the second person in the third group, which meant that it was her turn to go on stage in another group.
"Nervous." Yan Zi spoke frankly. It was his first time on such a big stage. Although the judges were the same ones during the auditions, there weren't that many audiences, and it was also a recorded broadcast.
"I went to a performance with my instructor at the Vienna State Conservatory of Music for the first time. I was so nervous. Do you know what my instructor said?"
"What did you say?"
"Either look up and close your eyes, or look down and close your eyes. As long as you don't look at the audience below, you won't be so nervous. It's best to frown to show your deep affection. Occasionally, shake your head to the rhythm."
"Pfft..." Yan Zi was amused. This guy was not serious after speaking a few words. She knew that Feng Xiaoyun majored in piano abroad. It was funny to think about playing the piano according to what he said.
However, with such jokes, Yan Zi felt less nervous. She thought about how her mother had called today and said that she and her father would watch her live broadcast on TV. Although she didn't say anything at the time, she had already decided to show her best side today.
The two were chatting backstage, time passed quickly, and it was Yan Zi's turn to go on stage next.
"Come on." Feng Xiaoyun said as he did as he had just said, raised his head, frowned, closed his eyes, made piano-playing movements with his hands, and shook his head a few times.
"Okay, I'm going upstairs." Yan Zi suppressed his laughter, straightened his face, and walked upstairs.
"Sister Wen, the song they are singing is yours." One of the judges in the singing group was Wen Feifei, and another judge next to her, Chen Hong, was chatting with her in a low voice.
In fact, these instructors all know that choosing the instructor's song in this situation is sometimes not a good choice. Because if you don't sing well, you will naturally not be given a high score. And the instructor will unconsciously compare your performance with hers.
"Well, it's one of my old songs. It was on an album six or seven years ago. I didn't expect people would still sing it now."
"It means your song is popular, Sister Wen."
While they were talking, the host had already introduced Yan Zi's identity as the challenger, and the prelude sounded.
