Chapter 18 Official Signing

It wasn't until the weekend four days later that Yan Zi received the news that she was being asked to come to the company. She'd seen the news the previous night, saying Jiangdu Entertainment had completed its acquisition of Tianfeng Entertainment in just three days—literally, lightning speed. Jiangdu Entertainment was incredibly easygoing, agreeing to many of their less stringent terms.

This time when Yan Zi arrived at Tianfeng Entertainment, she went directly to the Artist Department. The person who received her was the head of the Artist Department who signed the contract with her last time. Knowing that she was recruited by the company's top sister Wen Feifei, he was quite polite to her.

"Yan Zi, are you here? Sorry, as you know the company is undergoing restructuring these days, so I only notified you to come today. Please wait a moment, I'll call your agent and the assistant assigned to you."

Soon, a woman in formal clothes, black-framed glasses, and with her hair tied up walked in. She looked to be in her thirties and was full of mature charm.

"Hello, I'm your agent, you can call me Sister Chen." The woman who called herself Sister Chen stretched out her hand to shake hands with Yan Zi, and her whole aura was full of power.

"Hello, my name is Yan Zi."

"Sister Chen is the manager of famous artists such as Li Xiaohuan, Rao Guangwei, and Lu Bowen."

"There's no need to talk about the past," Sister Chen interrupted the supervisor. "I've been out of the entertainment industry for about three years. While some people still know me, I'm not sure if they'll still be loyal to me. But since I'm your agent, I'll definitely be responsible for you. I also hope you can be strict with yourself. That's also a way to be responsible to yourself."

There was another knock on the door, and a man walked in and said, "Sorry, I was delayed a little while going to the Human Resources Department to handle the transfer procedures."

"Feng Xiaoyun!" Yan Zi exclaimed at Feng Xiaoyun. A few days ago, when Feng Xiaoyun was resting at home, he went to Aunt Mei's house for a meal. The two met twice. At that time, Yan Zi also asked Feng Xiaoyun about his work.

Feng Xiaoyun just said that he had not arranged any new artists for him yet and was free at the time. He didn't expect to see him at Tianfeng Entertainment today.

The head of the artist department flipped through the documents and said, "Yes, it's Feng Xiaoyun. Because of our current relationship with Jiangdu Entertainment, they said he was your temporary assistant for a while, and you two worked well together, so they transferred him over. Of course, if you're not satisfied, we can replace you."

Although Yan Zi was just a newcomer in Tianfeng Entertainment and not a big shot, Feng Xiaoyun was just a small assistant and a new artist. If Yan Zi was not satisfied, he could be replaced at any time.

"No, thanks." Yan Zi and Feng Xiaoyun didn't have any conflicts. Although she found him sometimes unreliable and glib, they were familiar with each other. She was actually afraid of dealing with unfamiliar people. The unfamiliar and overbearing agent, Sister Chen, who came today, made her feel very uncomfortable. Now that she had Feng Xiaoyun, a familiar person, as her assistant, she felt a sense of security.

"Okay, then Sister Chen will arrange your future work for you." The head of the artist department said and prepared to leave.

"Wait, where is our assigned car?" Sister Chen called out to the supervisor.

"Which one..." The supervisor pulled Sister Chen over awkwardly and whispered, "Sister, this is a new artist. How can they be given a car right after joining the company? If you need a car to participate in an event, just go to the logistics department and apply for it."

It was also because of Sister Chen that he lowered his posture to explain that the artists signed by ordinary companies don’t even make a penny for the company, so how could they be given a car? You have to know that the car provided to celebrities must be a nanny car worth hundreds of thousands of yuan.

Sister Chen also knew that the artists she was managing now were different from the previous celebrity artists. After thinking about it, she didn't argue anymore and waved her hand to let him go first.

"Okay, you can see that being an artist without fame and works is like this. And artists, especially female artists, rely more on their youth, so let's get started today."

After saying that, Sister Chen opened her tablet and said, "I've applied for access to the company's music library. Come take a look! The songs here are all songs that the company has purchased the copyright for but hasn't released yet. Take a look and see if there's anything suitable."

"Should I choose too?" Feng Xiaoyun asked, pointing at himself.

"What? A dropout from the Vienna State Conservatory of Music, with no other skills, can't you tell which songs are good and which are not?"

Feng Xiaoyun's diploma column clearly states that he graduated from the Vienna State Conservatory of Music. Although I don't know how he got the job as an assistant with this diploma, Sister Chen still believes that he has the minimum musical literacy to be admitted to the Vienna State Conservatory of Music.

"Okay, okay!" This agent is really fierce. Feng Xiaoyun couldn't help but look at Sister Chen again. She is really fierce.

Open the music library. As a former leader in the record market, there are really a lot of songs in the music library.

But after reading a few of them, Feng Xiaoyun discovered the problem.

There are many songs, but hardly any quality ones.

After reading the lyrics of "Unlucky Girl", it tells the story of a girl's misfortunes.

When Feng Xiaoyun saw the music score of "I Dreamed of You", he was shocked. Are you sure that such fast-paced and powerful electronic music will not wake you up from your dream?

As for the song "I Don't Know Where," Feng Xiaoyun felt the author was a complete idiot. How did these people manage to escape nine years of compulsory education and become songwriters? They can't even write a coherent sentence, let alone catchy lyrics.

Finally, I found a song called "Yesterday and Tomorrow". The lyrics are okay, but the music is a bit disappointing. I don't know if it can be saved if the music is recomposed.
