"Keep watching the trading platform," Lu Ye instructed Shen Shu in a deep voice, his eyes sweeping across the shimmering yet murderous sea.
"As long as we have enough basic supplies, it's fine. For rare items, we can raise the threshold appropriately, but don't force it. We don't lack these things, so don't let people think we're easy to bully."
Shen Shu nodded, her white fingers sliding quickly across the virtual screen, her eyes focused and calm.
She understood what Lu Ye meant. One should not show off one's wealth, especially in this environment. Excessive hoarding may bring disaster.
"clear."
[Warning: Temporary supply stop at 'Steel Cemetery', remaining stay time: 6 hours.]
The cold system prompt sounded again.
Six hours.
Lu Ye's eyes sharpened as he glanced at the three people who had just been rescued on the deck, and then looked at the other ships that were looming in the distance.
"Time is running out, we have to hurry. Beibei, the three of you rest on the deck first and stay alert."
He paused and turned to Su Baiyue, who had a wary look in her eyes.
"I'll go down and take a look in advance."
"Go down?" Su Baiyue's cold voice was filled with a hint of doubt.
"Shouldn't we gather as many supplies as possible now? Time is running out, and there's plenty of space on the freighter."
In this sea area where supplies are scarce, any bit of resources can mean the difference between life and death.
Lu Ye shook his head, a self-deprecating arc appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Nothing comes easy, especially not in this damn place."
He pointed to the densely packed containers around him.
"The system has made such a big fuss and is stuck on time. Will it let us comfortably pack up and take away our things?"
He didn't say it explicitly, but his intuition told him that this "steel cemetery" was more than just a supply point.
"It went so smoothly, so smoothly that it made me panic." Lu Ye added in a low voice, his eyes deep.
At this moment, Shen Shu, who had been carefully observing the structure of the freighter, suddenly spoke.
"Lu Ye, look over here!"
She pointed to an inconspicuous corner near the inside of the ship.
There is a small door that almost blends in with the color of the surrounding metal walls. It is old in style and the handle is covered with rust. If you don't look carefully, it is easy to overlook it.
"There's a door here?" Lu Ye raised his eyebrows, walked forward and tried to turn the handle.
Crunch——
The small door opened, revealing a narrow passage that was only wide enough for one person to pass through. It was pitch black inside and emitted a damp smell mixed with rust and sea water.
"Let's go down and take a look." Lu Ye didn't hesitate and bent down first to go in.
Shen Shu followed closely behind, and Su Baiyue hesitated for a moment before following in.
The interior of the passage was more depressing than imagined. The air was stagnant and the light was dim. Only the faint light emitted by the bracelet could barely illuminate the metal stairs under his feet.
Unusually quiet.
Lu Ye suddenly stopped and listened attentively.
Click…click…click…
An extremely subtle and regular sound came faintly from the depths of the passage.
It sounded like the operation of some precision instrument.
Su Baiyue's face turned pale in an instant, and her breathing suddenly became rapid!
"This voice..." She whispered, her voice trembling uncontrollably.
"I heard about it during special training! It's the timer for the fixed-point explosive device!"
The air seemed to freeze at this moment.
A chill ran madly up my spine.
Lu Ye's pupils suddenly shrank, but there was no surprise on his face. Instead, it seemed as if something was confirmed.
"Sure enough." He whispered.
"The system's 'surprise' is coming."
This is not a supply point at all, it's a huge trap!
A screening mechanism!
"Su Baiyue, Chen Shu, search separately!" Lu Ye made a prompt decision and lowered his voice.
"Look at how much 'good stuff' is down there!"
The three of them immediately took action and quickly searched the bottom of the narrow and depressing cabin.
The results are mind-numbing.
Less than ten minutes later, when they met up, their faces looked extremely ugly.
"Everywhere," Shen Shu's voice trembled slightly as she pointed around.
“In wall compartments, at pipe joints, under support columns… almost everywhere!”
Su Baiyue added, her tone serious.
"I checked a few times, and the time displayed by the timer and the time when the 'Iron Cemetery' disappeared are almost completely synchronized!"
Accurate to the second!
Lu Ye closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, there was a look of cold determination in his eyes.
"I see. This is the system's way of cleaning up the 'garbage.' When the time is up, the entire 'graveyard,' along with all the players on it, will go off with a 'boom,' a feast of fireworks."
Another cruel screening.
Those players who greedily plundered supplies, thinking they could return with a full load, would probably end up sinking to the bottom of the sea along with this pile of scrap metal.
What a cruel method.
Lu Ye turned his gaze to Su Baiyue, and an idea flashed in his mind.
"Su Baiyue," he stared at her, "Can you defuse a bomb?"
Su Baiyue was stunned for a moment, then reacted and looked at Lu Ye with complicated eyes.
"...I've learned some basic theories and how to handle simple devices. This standard bomb is worth trying."
A gleam of light flashed in Lu Ye's eyes.
"Very good. If the high-energy materials in these bombs can be used by us..."
The rest of the sentence was not finished, but the meaning was obvious.
Turn waste into treasure and avoid danger!
You might even get a batch of powerful weapons!
Su Baiyue took a deep breath and nodded: "I'll try my best."
"Okay." Lu Ye no longer hesitated.
