Chapter 60 Dungeon Quest

[Random instance quest: Hunt the Corruptor.]

[Hunt down 1000 Corruptors within one hour. Completion reward: 1 Gold Chest. Failure will result in the player being transformed into a Corruptor.]

[The maximum number of players allowed in this instance is 300. Would you like to register for the instance quest?]

“Yes, yes, yes!”

Gu Mian had just woken up and hadn't even opened her eyes when she heard the system issue a task, and she signed up without hesitation.

Just kidding. Billions of players on Earth are vying for 300 spots. If she hesitates and dawdles when registering, she won't even get a sip of soup, let alone a piece of meat.

[Registration successful, instance full, transporting you...]

Gu Mian: ...

Wait, she's still in her pajamas and hasn't gotten out of bed yet!

Unfortunately, the system couldn't hear Gu Mian's shouts. A flash of white light appeared, and Gu Mian, wearing fluffy coral pajamas, appeared in a mine.

"Wow, this teleportation is too fast! It didn't even give me time to change my shoes."

"Stop pushing! Stop pushing! Who keeps stepping on my feet?!"

"It's so dark in here, we can't see anything! Nobody even knows when the polluter appeared!"

"I have a flashlight, everyone go outside first and we'll talk."

As soon as she finished speaking, a beam of light appeared to Gu Mian's left front.

"Holy crap! Did all 300 people teleport here?! It's a dense mass of heads!"

Indeed, 300 players were crammed together like sardines in a can, making it extremely difficult to even turn around.

"Stop pushing! Have you found the exit? It stinks in here, get out of here, I can't breathe!"

"Found it! Found it! The exit is right here!"

Gu Mian looked in the direction of the voice and found that it was a blue-eyed foreign woman speaking.

Gu Mian: ...

This game even has built-in language translation?

Gu Mian was very close to the foreigner, so she quickly followed the flow of people to the mine exit.

The people around her were still pushing and shoving. Gu Mian was about to leave, suppressing her annoyance, when suddenly she had an idea and took out a short knife from her backpack, hiding it in her sleeve.

The next second, Gu Mian was squeezed out of the mine by the crowd behind her.

"Finally out, I almost stank inside."

Before the speaker could finish speaking, he was stabbed in the stomach and then turned into a backpack that fell to the ground.

"Ah! Murder!"

A bearded foreign man swung an iron axe at Gu Mian. Gu Mian's pupils contracted, and she took a few steps back to avoid the attack.

"Not bad." The foreign man grinned menacingly and chased after them, iron axe in hand.

"What the hell is going on?"

Before Gu Mian could figure out what was going on, a chaotic battle had already broken out all around her.

Once again dodging the bearded man's attack, and seeing that he was still relentlessly attacking her, a cold glint flashed in Gu Mian's eyes. She changed from defense to offense, gripped her short knife, ducked to avoid the axe aimed at her head, and quickly slashed at the bearded man's neck.

"No! No! No!"

The bearded man's attack was too fierce. He didn't have time to turn around and dodge. His throat was slashed open and he fell to the ground like a backpack.

Gu Mian gripped the short knife, looking around warily.

Sensing Gu Mian's fierce gaze, the people fighting nearby subconsciously moved to the side.

After a pause, Gu Mian bent down and picked up the backpack that had fallen to the ground.

[An unclaimed inventory has been detected. Players can pick up the items inside.]

No wonder these people are fighting each other like madmen; it turns out that killing a player allows them to obtain the supplies in the player's backpack.

Just as I was about to check what was in the backpack, I heard someone shout, "The polluter has appeared!"

Gu Mian looked up and saw a continuous stream of polluters rushing out of the mine, instantly surrounding the player.

The players who were still fighting each other immediately stopped fighting and instead took their weapons and attacked the Corruptor.

Gu Mian frowned as she watched the polluters continuously emerging from the mine. This instance only lasted for one hour, and if there hadn't been any infighting among the players beforehand, completing the mission shouldn't have been a problem.

But with nearly half the number of players, can this dungeon quest still be completed smoothly?

As more and more pollutants emerged from the mines, the players found it increasingly difficult to resist, and finally, some began to give in.

"Damn it! Those damn foreigners! They're a bunch of scoundrels! If they hadn't been lying in ambush outside, we wouldn't have lost so many players!"

"Holy crap, I was so happy when I successfully registered, but I never expected that I would be handing myself a dead end!"

"Damn foreigners, I'll drag you down with me even when I die!"

After saying that, the man ignored the polluters around him and instead swung his long knife at the blond foreign man in front of him.

The blond man shouted in surprise, "Are you crazy! Why are you attacking me instead of the polluters!"

If you don't complete the dungeon quest, you'll be transformed into a Corruptor. Do you want to stay in the dungeon forever?!

"It's all your fault, you foreigners! If you hadn't launched that sneak attack, we wouldn't have lost so many players."

"Now you're scared? Ha, now nobody's going to have it easy. At worst, we'll all become corruptors and stay in the instance!"

Gu Mian: ...

No, I don't want to end up like this in the dungeon. Please don't make decisions for me.

She quickly shouted, "All players, avoid the mine entrance!"

Then he took out five mini landmines from his backpack and threw them into the mine one by one.

One of them was thrown but missed and landed outside the mine.
