Chapter 147 Poor Fish and Rich Fish (2/2)

They've all made their home on the seabed, shouldn't they be collecting some shipwrecks and finding some treasures? Why is there nothing?

Just as she was lamenting the poverty of the sea creatures, the octopus surfaced again.

"What did you catch this time?"

As soon as Gu Xi finished speaking, the octopus "biu" launched an object precisely toward the ship.

The object traced a perfect parabola through the air, flying straight towards her. Then, she heard a dull, clear "thud," and the thing lay down on the deck.

She quickly approached and took a closer look, only to discover that it was actually a fish, and quite a large one at that, about three meters long.

The fish had a round, plump belly, and its scales were arranged in a regular pattern like gold coins, confirming that it was a fish she had never seen before.

After the fish landed, it kept thrashing about on the deck, but since it had no legs, it couldn't get up no matter how hard it tried.

"Why are you giving me dried fish?" Gu Xi asked, pointing to the fish.

"Chirp chirp"

You mean this fish is a treasure?

"Chirp chirp"

"Really?" Gu Xi was skeptical, but it was a new species of fish, and she was definitely going to raise it.

Gu Xi rummaged through a nearby storage box and took out some fish food, then poured it into the fish's mouths. After pouring out a bag, the fish-raising system did not give any notification.

Gu Xi, who already had some experience in raising fish, was inwardly complaining.

Sharks only need to eat one bag of fish food to be bound, but this fish is even smaller than a regular shark, so how come it eats more than a shark?

The more food a fish eats, the more powerful it is.

Gu Xi could only feed it one packet after another, but even after finishing all the fish food, she still didn't hear the notification that the fish had been successfully bound.

She's now feeding the ray more fish than she would normally feed it, but there's still no sign of life.

Gu Xi stopped what she was doing and asked the octopus suspiciously, "What kind of fish did you catch? It doesn't look that strong, so how can it eat so much?"

"Chirp chirp"

"What? You're saying this kind of fish hoards treasures?"

Gu Xi looked suspiciously at the octopus's beady eyes, then turned back to look at the fish thrashing about on the ground. Since she had stopped feeding it, the fish was now thrashing about even more violently.

"Are you sure you're not mistaken? This fish doesn't look like it's worth much!"

"Chirp chirp!"

The octopus slapped the water with its tentacles, splashing water all over the deck and almost getting her shoes wet.

"Okay, okay, I know, don't be angry." Gu Xi's tone was as perfunctory as could be.

The octopus's intelligence was clearly different from before. Seeing that its owner didn't believe it, it pulled out its tentacles and attacked the fish on the deck.

Gu Xi hadn't expected the octopus to make such a move. Before she could stop it, she saw the octopus's tentacles slap against the fish's belly on the deck.

Then, a miraculous scene unfolded.

Logically speaking, octopuses have very high attributes, and this fish is only three meters long. If an octopus were to strike it, it would surely be reduced to a pile of minced meat. However, not only was this fish unharmed, it even opened its mouth.

If it had just opened its mouth, it wouldn't have surprised Gu Xi so much, but it actually opened its mouth and spat out a box.

Seeing this, Gu Xi was stunned.

Then, the octopus's tentacles slammed down again, and another box popped out of its mouth.

Once Gu Xi realized what was happening, she didn't know whether to stop the octopus or let it attack the fish.

After all, this fish didn't just spit out ordinary boxes, it spat out treasure chests. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
