She now has quite a lot of supplies.
Mineral water*67, plastic*78, wood*20, nails*32, fiber*46, rope*4, potting soil*16, pumpkin*1, tomato*1, cooking oil*1, spicy strips*2, eight-treasure porridge*1, compressed biscuits*4...
Wow, there are so many, it made her eyes blurry.
After this little tidying up, the cabin felt much more spacious, with room freed up and a place to put the table.
Gu Xi placed a 1-meter table opposite the bed. Although it didn't take up much space, it was very useful. At least she could have a table to eat at instead of squatting or lying down. This was truly a cause for celebration.
Around noon, Gu Xi lit the stove, took a non-stick pan, and cooked himself a packet of instant noodles.
She thought she could cook, but when she took out the pumpkin, she realized she didn't have a knife or a cutting board. In the end, she had no choice but to give up and just opened a pack of instant noodles that didn't require any tools.
The biggest difference between instant noodles and boiled noodles is that boiled instant noodles are more chewy and elastic.
After the water boiled, the dough slid down the edge of the pot. Gu Xi stirred the dough a couple of times with the utensils, and then squeezed the tomato with her bare hands. The juicy tomato dripped into the pot, and after being washed by the boiling water, it carried the aroma of the tomato into the air, and the whole raft was filled with a rich tomato smell.
Looking at her hands covered in tomato juice, Gu Xi felt disgusted. Although she had washed her hands for a long time to crush the tomatoes, she still felt a little disgusted with herself.
After washing her hands briefly with water, the aroma of the instant noodles in the pot became even stronger. After adding the seasoning and stirring, Gu Xi felt that the seasoning was still a bit lacking, so she added a braised egg for herself.
As the instant noodles were nearing the end of cooking, the thick, yellowish-brown broth made her feel like something was missing. After observing it for a long time, she realized that the instant noodles were missing a bit of green!
"Sigh~ I can't even make instant noodles without a knife, cutting board, leafy greens... I thought my life had gotten better, but it turns out it was all just my imagination."
But despite the complaints, when it's time to eat, you have to treat the food properly.
The piping hot instant noodles were poured into a bowl. Gu Xi carried the noodles in one hand and a plastic stool in the other, heading straight for the small table. After sitting down, she took a satisfying sniff, then happily opened the chat channel, eating her noodles while also enjoying some gossip.
District 2333, Regional Chat Group (84162/100000):
"Guys, it's lunchtime again. What are you all eating? I'll go first. I'm having bread with butter. Sigh, I'm really unlucky; I've had this for three meals in a row now."
"Upstairs, I suspect you're Versailles, and I have evidence. For example, I can only eat steamed buns, while you can eat buttered bread. Where is the justice?!"
"I only have compressed biscuits, it's so annoying, they're so dry, I have to drink a lot of water to eat them."
"I was eating a cucumber when I caught it."
...
Gu Xi slurped her noodles while looking at the chat screen. She was shocked to see how bad everyone's lives were! She thought that while they might not be able to afford hot pot, they should at least be able to afford grilled fish and potatoes.
With such a clear contrast, even the instant noodles in her bowl tasted delicious to her.
She slurped up a mouthful of instant noodles and drank a sip of the tomato-infused broth. Gu Xi thought, next time she'll definitely add a few slices of meat!
After eating and washing the dishes, Gu Xi lay comfortably on the bed again. A good nap during lunchtime is essential for maximizing energy in the afternoon. (This chapter has been finished. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
