Chapter 174 Essential Items Before the Auction (2/2)

There were quite a few things inside, but because of limited time, she couldn't possibly look at everything, so Gu Xi directly asked Hai Youling to recommend some items to her.

Upon receiving Gu Xi's request, Hai Youling carefully observed Gu Xi after obtaining her consent. In less than a minute, she found three items that were particularly suitable for Gu Xi.

Sea Ghost diligently promoted, "Dear customer, based on your specific circumstances, Sea Ghost wholeheartedly recommends this 'Mist Pendant' to you."

"Wearing it can subtly conceal your mental power level, making you appear blurry and indistinct to other intelligent species, like a phantom in the mist."

It was obvious that Hai Youling thought Gu Xi's mental strength was relatively low, which was why she recommended this item to her. However, Gu Xi wasn't ungrateful; she understood Hai Youling's intention in recommending this item, and she genuinely needed it.

"Is this thing applicable to all species?" Gu Xi asked.

Sea Ghost: "Of course not, but those with mental strength below SS level can be shielded."

The Sea Ghost's answer was quite reasonable. If it had said that no mental power user could sense her mental power level, Gu Xi would have been skeptical. After all, this thing only cost 10 gold coins. To think that something costing 10 gold coins could block mental power of SS level or higher was just wishful thinking.

Besides, this is a common item, so there must be quite a few people using it. The fact that many people use it is actually advantageous for her; at least it won't be as conspicuous when she wears it.

So Gu Xi immediately made a decision, "Okay, I'll take the pendant. Anything else?"

New customers don't hesitate at all; once they understand what they want, they buy immediately without saying a word. Sea Ghost loves these kinds of generous customers. Just then, it heard the customer asking about other products, and happily began introducing them again.

The Sea Ghost pointed to another item on the board and said, "This is called the Illusion Bracelet. It can conceal the wearer's race."

After it finished speaking, the Sea Ghost glanced at Gu Xi thoughtfully. "As you know, esteemed guest, these days, the various deep-sea tribes are quite frantic in capturing slaves. It would be terrible if you were accidentally captured."

She had no idea about capturing other races as slaves, but she was curious, "Don't you guarantee the safety of your guests?"

Sea Ghost: "Of course, we can guarantee things at the venue, but we can't control what the hostile deep-sea creatures will do when they encounter each other at the auction."

Gu Xi nodded, pointed to the transformation bracelet, and continued, "How are these selling?"

Sea Ghost honestly replied, "Almost everyone who came to the auction bought it."

This was somewhat unexpected for Gu Xi, and she asked further, "Is it selling even better than the Mist Pendant?"

Sea Ghost: "Yes, after all, every deep-sea race has its hostile races, and everyone has to be on guard."

Hearing her say that, Gu Xi became interested in the hostile races of the Sea Ghosts and asked, "Then what are the hostile races of you Sea Ghosts?"

The question caused the Sea Ghost to fall silent for a moment. After several seconds, it finally spoke: "The Sea Ghost has no enemies."

Gu Xi scoffed inwardly. Who could it possibly be fooling? If it really didn't, why was it silent?

However, we can at least learn one thing from it: the inter-species relationships among deep-sea creatures are quite complex. The more we understand about them, the greater our chances of survival in this world will be.

Because the two, one human and one ghost, talked so much, time passed quietly in the midst of their tug-of-war. In the end, Gu Xi spent 40 gold coins to buy two items: the Mist Pendant and the Transformation Bracelet.

The sea ghost was overjoyed to have made a fortune before the auction even started, and it was reluctant to part with Gu Xi until it finally delivered her to the auction venue. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
