Although she was reluctant to admit it, she had to admit that the sea ghost in front of her had guessed correctly; she was eager to learn more about the deep-sea race, especially in terms of combat.
For some reason, Gu Xi felt a surge of irritation. She realized that this sea ghost was on a completely different level from the three she had encountered before. A sea ghost that could work as a security guard at an auction house must possess considerable mental and combat strength. It was certainly much stronger than the two outside. Conservatively speaking, its mental strength was at least S-level, and quite possibly SS-level.
The Sea Ghost seemed to sense Gu Xi's irritation and knew when to stop. "Distinguished guest, the farce is over, and the auction is about to begin."
Gu Xi composed herself, nodded, and sat back down on the stool. Now was not the time for her to be lost in thought; the most important thing was to secure the pearl fish and get the Future ship repaired.
The pearl fish wasn't considered a high-priced item, and Gu Xi ultimately bought it for 8 gold coins. After swiping her card to pay the gold coins, she received an item shaped like a glass ball.
Sea Ghost: "This is a special item of the Sea Ghost clan. The glass ball contains a special space. Your esteemed guest only needs to smash the ball, and the pearl fish will come out."
Gu Xi nodded, relieved. Although the pearl fish wasn't as big as the sea monsters she had seen, it was still quite large, and it would be a real problem if she were to take it away.
Aside from the initial commotion, the auction proceeded relatively smoothly. As Gu Xi was leaving, a question suddenly occurred to her.
She pinched the two pieces of jewelry she was wearing and asked, "Can I use these two things outside?"
Sea Ghost: "Of course. Sea Ghost's skills are top-notch..."
Seeing that it was about to start praising the sea ghost again, Gu Xi quickly changed the subject. "I'd like to buy a few more, is that alright?"
Upon hearing this, the sea ghost immediately floated up. These two ornaments were far more expensive than the stingray from before, and now that there was profit to be made, it would be strange if it didn't float away.
Gu Xi watched it float around in place three times before stopping, and then watched it pull out a board.
Gu Xi originally thought she was going to go back to the waiting room to buy it, but the sea ghost took out what she wanted on the spot.
Knowing that this item could also be used outside, she didn't hesitate to order 10 sets of jewelry this time, spending 400 gold coins in one go.
The speed at which the money was being spent made the sea ghost happily spin around three more times.
When Gu Xi returned to the boat, it was already 7 p.m. The first thing she did upon her return was to take care of the stingrays.
She threw the glass ball into the air and had the octopus hit it hard. The glass ball shattered, and a 4-meter-long pearl fish thrashed on the surface of the sea.
Perhaps because it had been caught before, it had a ring on its tail, and it was crying pitifully.
The pearl fish, suddenly released, struggles to escape, but as soon as it has the thought of escaping, the ring on its tail glows, draining its strength.
The octopus, also a marine mammal, and other fish seemed to share the same sense; they all surfaced and circled around the pearlfish, trying to pull off the rings on its body.
Seeing the big fish circling around the small fish and even pulling and injuring its tail, Gu Xi quickly stopped them.
"Stop, stop! Feed it fish food first to help it recover. I'll figure out the ring problem!"
After the fish owner spoke up, the fish calmed down. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
