Chapter 186 Sharing Crab Meat, Ice Crystals on the Sea Surface (1/2)

It smells so good, it really smells amazing.

Gu Xi couldn't help but wipe away the drool that wasn't actually at the corner of her mouth; she couldn't wait to take a couple of bites.

The snowman crab has been cooked for so long that its original white shell has turned red.

It's red and ripe!

Gu Xi chuckled inwardly and happily picked up a crab leg. She knew that eating sea crab would be hot, so she had taken a heat-resistant potion beforehand. Therefore, she wasn't afraid of getting burned at all and could eat to her heart's content.

She broke off the thorns on her leg, revealing tender crab meat beneath the spiky shell. The crab meat clung tightly to the shell; a simple scrape was all it took to get a mouthful of meat. Despite being thorns, they were actually about as thick as her finger; just a few thorns were enough to fill her stomach.

The tender crab meat has a subtle aroma of wine, and the strange smell that was removed by the ginger earlier has now been eliminated, leaving only the plump and delicious crab meat.

Gu Xi picked up a piece of crab meat and took a big bite. The crab meat was both sweet and delicious, with a firm yet elastic texture. After taking that bite, her eyes lit up instantly, and she ate several more pieces before stopping.

She was currently in a state where her mouth was still full, but her stomach was too full to eat anymore. She looked at the remaining meat with some regret. Since she couldn't eat it now, she could only take it back and enjoy it slowly.

After Gu Xi finished processing the remaining crab legs, she put away all the Fire Essence. Full and satisfied, she hummed a little tune happily.

However, while she was happy, the fish who had been busy all day and hadn't gotten anything in return were unhappy.

The octopus thrashed against the ice, while the manta ray darted in and out of the water, splashing water restlessly. Their increasingly large movements finally caught the attention of the fish owner. He didn't notice them until it was time to pack up.

Seeing their childlike, temperamental behavior, Gu Xi glanced sideways and casually uttered words of utter surprise, "Ah! I first tested whether the snowman crab was cooked through. Now it's time to reward our great hero."

The sea creatures didn't understand much, making them particularly easy to fool. Therefore, as soon as Gu Xi spoke, the sea creatures quietly lined up, waiting for their fish owner to feed them.

Looking at the several hungry mouths and then at the crab shell plate with hardly any meat, Gu Xi had a sudden inspiration.

Octopuses are usually omnivorous and will eat any kind of human food they come across, but other marine mammals now only eat fish food, so the manta rays should be easy to fool.

Gu Xi squatted down and beckoned a few shimmering rays over, saying, "I know you don't like eating snowman crabs, right? So I'll use fish food instead, okay?"

The luminous rays were completely bewildered. They usually ate fish food, which was quite delicious, so when their owner asked if they wanted to switch, they were definitely willing.

Just as they were about to agree, the octopus slapped several of the light rays.

"Chirp chirp!" (Don't fall for it! If you don't want it, I can trade it for fish food!)

The octopus knew perfectly well that its owner probably wanted to appease the manta ray with two or three bags of fish food, but it was willing to trade five bags of fish food for a manta ray as a reward of snowman crab meat.

Gu Xi looked at the octopus innocently, thinking that the octopus was quite smart. But the most important thing was that the octopus had a lot of fish food, and it could store unopened fish food, which was why it was able to trade with the shimmering ray.

Furthermore, the fact that the octopus made the sea creatures eat this meat suggests that it must have other uses for them.
