Chapter 190 An Accident at the Ice Rink (1/2)

"Hey~ Shark 1 to Shark 100, where are you?"

Gu Xi megaphoned her hands and shouted across the ice. The fish she used to pull the boat were nowhere to be seen.

Not only that, but the fish in the water were no longer visible; now only the octopus that had been staying on the boat for so long remained by her side. She released her mental energy to try and probe downwards, but found that her mental energy was blocked by the ice and could not penetrate deeper.

If she hadn't known she was at sea, she would have mistaken the ice field for land. So, when and how did her ship enter this ice field?

Gu Xi sighed and decided to check the thickness of the ice first.

She gently extended one foot and stepped onto the ice. After gradually increasing the pressure and finding that the ice was very thick and wouldn't collapse, she then placed both feet on the ice.

Gu Xi summoned spikes, then forcefully stabbed them into the ice. With a crack, spiderweb-like patterns appeared on the ice. She thrust again, and a hole the size of a basin broke through the ice.

Judging from the thickness of the ice, it's not particularly thick, only about 2 meters. At this thickness, breaking through the ice and continuing forward shouldn't be too difficult.

Gu Xi crouched down and used her spiritual power to examine her fish. The octopus sat beside her, its dark eyes curiously staring into the hole.

Her mental energy penetrated the ice and covered the area, finding that all the fish were under the ice, but the ice was too thick for ordinary fish to come out.

As for the other sea monsters, Gu Xi learned through communication that although they could come out, the ice layer blocked their mental energy, so they could not determine the location of the Future. They were worried that breaking through the ice would capsize the ship, so they stayed obediently under the ice.

After learning that all the fish were safe, Gu Xi immediately designated a location and instructed the octopus to break the ice and rescue the ordinary sharks.

The octopus grew larger and slammed its tentacles down, creating a huge hole in the ice. Sharks slowly swam toward the hole.

Seeing this, Gu Xi was also somewhat worried. Given the sharks' current state, it would be nearly impossible for them to continue pulling the boat. As for retrieving the crates, that was out of the question. Since the ice floes appeared, the number of crates had been gradually decreasing, and there wasn't a single crate after entering the ice field. She guessed that the ice field had blocked all the crates outside.

Therefore, the important task of sailing the ship will now be entrusted to the sea creatures.

Gu Xi immediately began assigning tasks. Octopus was responsible for clearing the way with the fire cannon, while the other sea beasts cleared away the obstructing ice. Shark King used its talent to guide and encourage the sharks to pull the boat, while also shouldering the heavy responsibility of pushing it.

Upon returning to the ship, Gu Xi's first action was to adjust the fire elemental cannons to the correct orientation. For safety reasons, she had reserved half of the fire elemental essence, and the newly constructed deck, made of materials with temperature-regulating properties, also provided protection against another fire.

After the Fireball Cannon was repositioned, the Octopus swarmed up, and the Shark King took its place at the stern. The Radiant Ray and the Pearlfish nibbled at the ice connecting the hole to the bottom of the ship. Everything was ready, just waiting for Gu Xi to give the order.

Gu Xi raised his hand to signal, and with a captain's air, shouted loudly, "Future, prepare to depart! Octopus, fire!"

Octopus: "Chirp chirp!"

As Gu Xi gave the order, Octopus snapped the control handle shut, and the energy cluster of the Fire Element Cannon began to gather.

A ball of energy shot out, heading straight towards the ice surface, which had no specific target point but a clear direction. The extremely high temperature instantly melted the thick layer of ice.

Although the melting wasn't complete, as long as the sea creatures cleaned it up a bit more, there wouldn't be any problems with sailing.

Once the energy cluster disappeared into the distance, the shimmering rays and pearl fish emerged together, clearing a path through the energy cluster's path.
