In the end, they were all pitiful people after all.
"What are you thinking about?" The Book of Greed asked when Gu Xi remained silent.
Gu Xi shook her head and brought the topic back, "No, I just think this world is really amazing. By the way, you still haven't told me how to use the Abyss Scale Pearl to avoid water?"
The Book of Greed: "It's very simple, it's all about mental strength. The level of your mental strength determines how long you can avoid water."
Gu Xi rubbed her forehead. She had been overthinking things. How could she forget that when you don't know how to use many things in this world, just input your mental energy?
Gu Xi: "You're right."
But her casual remark was met with a rebuttal from the Book of Greed.
The Book of Greed: "Are you thinking that if you don't know what an item is, you can just input your mental energy?"
Gu Xi paused, rubbing her forehead. "How did you know I thought that?"
The Book of Greed: "There are all kinds of fools in this world, and there's no shortage of fools like you. Randomly injecting mental energy into unknown objects may ultimately be the beginning of disaster."
"You're not trying to trick me into buying information every time I come across a new item, are you?" Gu Xi thought about it more and more, and felt that the Book of Greed was very likely to do that.
The Book of Greed offered no explanation, only saying, "Believe it or not."
After obtaining the information he wanted, Gu Xi bid farewell to the Book of Greed and emerged from the special space indicated by the invitation.
Regarding the last statement, she still believed in the Book of Greed. Different deep-sea races used their mental power in completely different ways, so it was normal for there to be traps targeting mental power. Hadn't she encountered them before?
Gu Xi carried the basket and looked up at the sky. The sky was clear and cloudless, making it the perfect time to go into the water.
Although it's very cold now, since the Abyss Scale Pearl has the effect of repelling water and maintaining a constant temperature, she can go into the water first to test the basic effects before making a detailed plan.
Gu Xi called over the octopus and gave him some instructions, then picked up a Yuanlin Pearl and channeled his mental energy into it.
Just before entering the water, she recalled the game's warning when she first entered the game: don't go into the water lightly. So, was she going into the water lightly now?
There is always a first time for everything. Now she has at least solved the problems of water avoidance and constant temperature. If she doesn't try, how will she know the outcome?
With a splash, Gu Xi jumped into the sea.
The instant she jumped into the sea, the Abyss Scale Bead in her hand instantly created a waterproof membrane for her. The spherical waterproof membrane enveloped her, allowing her to float two meters underwater, through which she could see the light above her head.
When her pet sharks saw that their owner had gone into the water, they happily gathered around her and circled her.
"This is such a pleasant surprise! We can actually go into the water."
Although it was a pleasant surprise, many problems remain unresolved.
For example, how effective is this waterproof membrane? How will she move in the water? Pressure resistance, movement time, and other issues all need to be investigated over time.
Good things always take time to discover, so let's begin. She had a strong feeling she'd soon find this useful. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
