Chapter 22 Iron Ingot Income, Hunting Poisonous Snakes (2/2)

Gu Xi's eyes flashed with a fierce light, and he hurled a wooden splinter down with all his might.

With a soft "plop," came the sound of a wooden splinter piercing flesh.

The enormous snake's mouth pierced a small splinter completely, slamming the snake's head firmly to the ground.

Three wooden spikes completely immobilized the python, rendering it unable to move.

But a giant python is still a giant python. The game neither displayed its health nor gave any indication that it had died, so Gu Xi could only continue attacking.

After the pain subsided, the python opened its eyes and stared coldly at its opponent.

Gu Xi currently has one wooden spike and one iron spike left. The wooden spike is clearly not powerful enough, so she switched to the iron spike and kept stabbing the giant python's body.

Each time she poked it, the giant python let out a pitiful cry.

"Hey~ Stop screaming. If it hurts so much, why don't you just die?! That way you'll be free, and I'll be free too."

Whether her words had any effect or not, after being stabbed more than ten times, the giant python finally let out a miserable howl and collapsed to its death.

[Game Notification: You have defeated the giant python and obtained Island Treasure Chest*1, Snake Skin*58, Snake Meat*102, and Venom Sac*12]

No experience?

After a moment's thought, Gu Xi understood that this game didn't rely on experience points for leveling up. As for how to increase strength, new content would definitely be added later.

Once the giant python died, the wooden spikes embedded in its body disappeared along with the corpse, leaving only a few items mentioned in the game notification.

She wouldn't eat the snake meat; she planned to trade it directly. Snake skin was a type of fabric material that could be used to make items, while the use of the venom sacs was still unknown. After a quick glance, Gu Xi put them all away.

Then she looked at the highlight of what the giant python produced: the island treasure chest.

[Island Treasure Chest: A special treasure chest that contains items related to the island.]

The treasure chest wasn't very large, about half the size of a storage box. It was made entirely of an unidentified metal, with flowing blue water ripples faintly shimmering on its surface. The top lid of the chest was inlaid with eight prismatic gemstones, four long and four short, and the blue water ripples all flowed towards a multicolored transparent bead in the center of the gemstones.

[Open the treasure chest?]

"yes!"

The moment the treasure chest was opened, blue water ripples spread out, and the colorful transparent bead on top immediately lost its energy and became dim.

Then the eight prismatic gemstones gradually lost their color and turned into dust in the air.

The lid was gone, leaving behind two parchment scrolls, but one of them was particularly different because it was covered with blue water ripple patterns.

With just one glance, Gu Xi knew that this was the most valuable item in the treasure chest.

She picked up the parchment scroll, and a game prompt immediately popped up.

[Island Resource Map: Possessing this map gives you a clear picture of the distribution of resources throughout the island. Please note that the island resource map is valid for the same period as the player's arrival time on the island.]

Gu Xi opened her eyes wide and quickly unfolded the resource map. What she saw was the shape of the island and the terrain map. Not only that, the map also clearly marked the distribution of island resources, and even the location of her raft was marked with an inverted triangle.

Gu Xi was overjoyed. With this map, she could efficiently gather resources! Killing this giant python was truly worthwhile; it was worth the three wooden spikes she had wasted.

After calming down a bit, Gu Xi picked up another drawing. She wondered if it was a blueprint.

Gu Xi unfolded the parchment scroll with anticipation, then quickly closed it again three seconds later.

Good heavens! What she saw wasn't a blueprint, but a potion recipe!

Gu Xi unfolded the parchment scroll once more and happily began to look at the recipe.

[Cold Medicine: Treats colds; effectiveness depends on potion-making proficiency. Crafting materials: 2 Small Wild Grass, 3 Honeysuckle Leaves]

[Have you unlocked cold medicine? Would you like to learn more?]

"yes!"

It has just been confirmed that this potion formula is slowly burning away, as if ignited by an invisible fire.

[The potion has been unlocked, and the new feature, potion making, is now available.] This chapter has been read (please click to continue reading the next chapter!).
