After turning a few pages, the book finally stopped on a certain page.
"Oh! Found it!" The Book of Greed stopped and explained its contents to Gu Xi.
The Book of Greed: "Flame in water is not a thing, so it's normal that you can't find it."
It stopped after it finished reading.
For some reason, Gu Xi felt that it was somewhat gloating.
"So?" Gu Xi asked patiently.
The Book of Greed exclaimed, "So that's why you couldn't find it at the auction!"
Gu Xi's patience was about to run out. "Hurry up and tell me."
The Book of Greed: "You're so fierce!"
Gu Xi: "Do you still want to have time to clean?"
As expected, the Book of Greed yielded to the blatant threat.
The Book of Greed: "This isn't a thing at all. It's flames spewed by a creature called a Flamefish Beast, and it can't be preserved. By the way, not all Flamefish Beasts can spew flames, and the power of the flames varies among Flamefish Beasts that can. What did you bring this for?"
Gu Xi did not answer its question, but continued to ask its own doubts.
"What is a Flamefish Beast? Is it a deep-sea creature or a sea monster?"
The Book of Greed: "Uh, sea monster."
Gu Xi: "Where to look?"
The Book of Greed reacted particularly quickly: "This is the second problem; it requires payment."
Gu Xi stopped, recalling the question the Book of Greed had just raised. She needed underwater flames to burn the corpses of the zombie sea beasts in the water; with such a vast number, she absolutely needed to find a powerful flame fish beast.
The problem now is where to find a powerful Flamefish Beast?
Gu Xi looked at it for a moment and asked, "How many gold coins?"
The Book of Greed was quite surprised to see her so agreeable, as it had originally thought Gu Xi would try to bargain and renege on the payment.
"1...1 gold coin." It stammered, and only after it finished speaking did it realize that it had omitted a zero.
Gu Xi raised an eyebrow and launched a golden bomb directly at him.
The Book of Greed, which had been hit by the gold coin, cried out, "Wrong! Wrong! I misspoke! It's 10 gold coins!"
Gu Xi chuckled: "We humans have a saying, 'A word spoken is like a horse let loose,' which means that once something is said, it cannot be taken back!"
I feel so bad for the book "Greedy Book" that I feel like I've just given Gu Xi a free message again.
Gu Xi paid and it was time to receive the goods. "Where is the powerful Flame Fish Beast?"
The Book of Greed, already half-dead, weakly said, "The arena of life and death~"
Upon hearing the news about the Book of Greed, Gu Xi recalled another invitation that he had stuffed into his drawer.
"Okay! I have something to do today, I'll come back to tidy up next time." After saying that, Gu Xi turned and left the space, completely forgetting about the dazed Book of Greed.
As for tending to the flowers and plants, she's currently focused on dealing with the pile of corpses and doesn't have time to tidy up the space.
As soon as Gu Xi left the space, she turned around and went to the workroom to take out another invitation. When she saw this invitation, her eyes flickered slightly.
Ais popped up and asked, "Puru~ How's it going?"
Gu Xi handed him the arena invitation.
“Here,” she pointed to the arena invitation, “the Book of Greed says that flames in the water are spewed by Flamefish Beasts, and you can find powerful Flamefish Beasts here.”
Ais didn't know what it was, but nodded as if she understood.
"Plop plop~ This seems like a lot of trouble. Maybe I should just take the ice out and crush it."
But this time, Gu Xi disagreed.
“No, we need the Flame Fish Beast,” Gu Xi replied solemnly.
It wasn't just because the Flamefish Beast was a sea creature, but also because its underwater flames could burn away virus-infected corpses, meaning she would have another advantage in dealing with similar viruses in the future.
