The top of the ice puck melted away, as if the lid of the ice puck had been lifted, and the Flame Fish Beast trapped inside suddenly poked its head out, trying to break free.
However, the opening could only accommodate its head; its body remained stuck inside the ice puck. It struggled desperately, trying to break through the ice wall.
"Plop! Don't move!" Ais warned.
But the other party wouldn't listen at all, and instead struggled even harder.
The puck rolled along.
Although the Flamefish Beast's head emerged, it forgot that even though the ice ball was slightly flattened, it was still a ball, and it didn't affect its rolling at all.
The Flame Fish Beast, which had been standing, instantly went from upright to lying down. It tried to stand up by swinging its tail, but the ice puck restricted its balance, causing the entire fish to lose its equilibrium. Its whole body lay down again along with the puck.
"Pfft! Damn it! What kind of ball is that?!" The Flamefish Beast suddenly cursed.
Although participating in this hellish life-or-death competition was not its own choice, being locked up like this is really unpleasant!
It thought that since the ball already had a hole, breaking it wouldn't be a problem. Little did it know that instead of breaking the ball, it had made a mess of things. What a blunder!
"Pfft! I told you not to move!" Seeing how impatient it was, Ais felt a little like punching it.
"Pfft! How can I get out if I don't move?!"
As the Flamefish Beast twisted, the flames that were originally inside the ice ball turned into liquid and flowed out of the ice ball's mouth.
A pool of liquid flames flowed onto the arena, scalding the ground with a sizzling sound.
The Sea Ghost Judge quickly used his spatial abilities to isolate the pool of liquid flames within the space.
After clearing the flames from inside the ice ball, Ais melted the rest of the ice ball.
The two-legged Flamefish Beast, dragging its long tail, leaped out with a thud. Perhaps due to its anger, it was now engulfed in flames.
The Flamefish Beast has a human head and a fish body, with fins replacing its hands and two legs. Above its eyes are bony protrusions that resemble leaping flames. Its mouth is wide and filled with sharp teeth, which are also decorated with red patterns.
Gu Xi saw its appearance clearly and exclaimed in his heart: It's a monster!
The Flamefish Beast was trapped inside the ice sphere, but emerged completely unharmed. Some of the deep-sea creatures who bet on it to win were naturally unwilling to accept this outcome, but the most unwilling among them was Fishman Number One.
It roared, "Referee, the Flamefish Beast is unharmed! The duel is invalid!"
Its face was ferocious, and it was extremely dissatisfied with the outcome.
The mere thought of losing to the deep-sea human race, and even losing the precious SS Flame Fish Beast, filled the entire fish with resentment.
At this point, the referee, Sea Ghost, was also somewhat embarrassed, as this was the first time such a thing had happened.
It had never heard of a game where a winner could be determined without any casualties in a life-or-death arena.
Its coils began to malfunction, and it struggled to determine how to respond to the current situation.
The Sea Ghost Referee looked at the Flame Fish Beast, then at Ais.
"Pfft! Whatever!"
Ais's nonchalant attitude drew cheers from many Deepsea Clan members in the audience, some of whom even asked the referee to play another round.
The atmosphere in the audience heated up dramatically, but the outcome of the challenge wasn't determined by a single fish.
All eyes turned to the Flame Fish Beast.
"Pfft! I give up~"
Just when everyone was filled with anticipation, the Flame Fish Beast surprised all the fish. With remarkable grace, it made a stool out of flames, lay down, and simply admitted defeat.
This behavior shocked all the deep-sea creatures.
Fishman Number One nearly fainted from anger, constantly cursing it. (This chapter is now complete. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
