When the mental energy touched the edge of the seawater at the edge of that luminous spot, the seawater seemed to sense a powerful deterrent and reacted instantly.
Starting from the seawater directly above the ball of light, the ice shards began to spread rapidly in all directions.
The ice shards below resemble a giant beast, devouring the surrounding seawater bit by bit, transforming it into a world of ice.
Eventually, a giant ice pillar formed around this light.
“Plop! It’s a pillar!” Ais said to Gu Xi. “This pillar is more than 300 meters long.”
"More than 300 meters!" Gu Xi exclaimed softly. "Could this pillar go all the way to the seabed?"
Ais shook her head: "Pfft~ I don't know either, I still can't figure it out."
Gu Xi suppressed his surprise and said to Ai Si, "Ai Si, build another ice path downwards along this pillar."
Ais nodded and once again channeled her mental energy to touch the ice pillar.
A section was carved out of the center of the ice pillar, where the ice surface showed subtle ripples, and tiny ice crystals were extracted from the surface.
After the ice crystals dispersed quickly, they stuck together and piled up in a thin layer arranged vertically.
More ice crystals spread towards the sides of the ice pillar, expanding outwards from the pillar as a center, with ice crystals constantly replenishing the area, and the width of the ice path continued to increase.
The ice crystals at the bottom of the ice path began to layer, with each layer tightly attached to the other, continuing to spread downwards into the depths around the ice pillar.
When the ice tunnel was completed, Gu Xi's gaze was drawn to a pillar inside the ice column that was faintly emitting a light.
This luminous pillar is over 10 meters in diameter and is crystal clear, as if it were carved from a single piece of the purest crystal.
It extends from about 3 meters below the sea surface to the seabed, until it disappears into a depth beyond her sight.
The light inside the pillar was not still, but flowed and changed slowly as if it were alive.
The light had an extremely strange color, as if it were a fusion of the deep blue of the ocean and the starlight of the night sky, with wisps of silvery white showing through the deep blue, as if some kind of mysterious power was sealed within it.
The light was not dazzling, but it possessed a profound depth that could penetrate the soul; one glance seemed to draw you in.
On the surface of the pillar, tiny sparks of energy occasionally flicker and leap, these sparks sometimes moving quickly along the pillar's texture and disappearing in an instant.
"Plop! You can go down now."
Ai Si's voice woke Gu Xi up. She quickly brought her attention back, then jumped up the steps from the spikes and led the way on the ice ladder.
Because of the light from the crystal pillar, she didn't even need lighting to descend freely.
The tranquil atmosphere was like an invisible veil, enveloping the entire ice track.
Gu Xi could only hear the faint sound of her and Ai Si walking. The sound was amplified in the silence, and each step was accompanied by a slight echo.
Gu Xi carefully descended the ice stairs, her eyes scanning her surroundings warily.
Soon, she and Ais reached the 300-meter mark. Below that were the pillars of light submerged in the seawater.
The crystal pillars gleamed coldly in the light, and apart from the ice path built by Ais, there was nothing special about this place.
Gu Xi breathed a sigh of relief, but was also somewhat disappointed.
She thought there was some secret here.
Boom—
A clap of thunder startled Gu Xi, causing her to swallow the breath she hadn't yet exhaled.
The deafening thunder roared into Gu Xi's ears.
The splashing sound of water crashing against the outer ice wall.
Suddenly, tiny droplets of water began to fall from above. (This chapter has been finished. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
