Chapter 340 The Dark Clouds Disperse, the Storm Rises Again (1/2)

Gu Xi carefully put away the Heart of the Island, her face beaming with joy, but she still tried her best to suppress her inner elation and maintain a calm expression.

"Ais," she called softly.

Ais looked over upon hearing the sound.

“Take this technical manual to the lab to study, and remember to make a backup,” Gu Xi said, pointing to the book in Ai Si’s hand. “Also, organize what you recorded in the tower and give it to me.”

"Plop plop~" Ais replied, clutching the book pages tightly in her hand as she turned and walked towards the laboratory.

Gu Xi watched Ai Si leave, then breathed a long sigh of relief, feeling much more relaxed.

She turned and headed towards the cabin, intending to go back to her room and get some rest. The continuous high-intensity mental exertion left her feeling exhausted, and her head was spinning.

Back in her room, Gu Xi collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep without even taking off her clothes.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she was awakened by a slight shaking, as if someone was gently pushing her bed. Gu Xi opened her eyes, still a little groggy. She got up and left the room to see what was happening outside.

Filled with doubt and unease, she hurried from the room toward the small garden, her heart beating faster as she got closer.

A moist sea breeze swept over me, carrying a slightly salty smell. The sky was overcast, and dark clouds rolled in the distance, like a pack of angry beasts baring their fangs and claws as they approached, threatening a storm.

"Chirp chirp?" The octopus was perched on the railing, waving its tentacles as if observing something, occasionally scratching its head with its tentacles.

"What's going on?" Gu Xi walked over and asked softly, "Is the boat moving? You didn't start the boat, did you?"

"Chirp chirp." (No) The octopus shook its head, "Chirp chirp!" (You didn't let me drive, so I didn't drive!)

Gu Xi reached out and patted its head, then looked up at the sky. Her brows furrowed slightly, and the unease rising in her heart intensified.

Since entering the Cloud Wall, the sea here has been calm. Although there has been some wind, it shouldn't be enough to wake her up.

"Plop plop, everything is ready."

Suddenly, Ai Si's mental energy entered Gu Xi's mind. After a brief stop in the small garden, Gu Xi rushed to the laboratory without stopping, and the inexplicable unease in her heart had not dissipated.

The laboratory door opened, and Ai Si, carrying a thick stack of books, walked lightly to Gu Xi. He handed the books to him.

Gu Xi took it, her fingertips tracing the uneven texture on the cover, her gaze sweeping over the dense symbols between the pages.

How much of this text can you understand?

Ais shook her head. "I can't understand most of the text, but I can decipher some of the part about mental power."

Gu Xi nodded, turned the pages, and the paper made a soft sound under his fingertips.

"No rush, organize these materials first."

She took a crystal-clear photographic stone out of her backpack and handed it to Aisi.

“Copy the information you collected in the tower into here, and then I will give it to Lorraine for interpretation. He should be able to help a lot with the text.”

Ais took the recording stone, a glint of light flashing in her icy blue eyes.

Seeing that Ai Si was busy again, Gu Xi opened the door and left the laboratory, no longer wanting to disturb him.

The sky had darkened again, as if by magic. Dark clouds, like a giant curtain, blocked out all the light. The sea wind howled, whipping up towering waves that crashed against the ship with a dull thud.

Gu Xi frowned, her unease growing stronger. She quickly left the laboratory and returned to the small garden on the third floor. Looking up into the distance, she saw the sea surging and roaring like countless giant beasts.

In the distance, a bolt of lightning ripped across the sky, illuminating the dark world. Immediately afterward, thunder roared, deafeningly loud.

Sure enough, another storm is brewing.

Gu Xi's heart sank as she recalled the scene when she first entered the dark cloud layer.

Undoubtedly, the Cloud Wall was the protective structure of the Tower. Now that the Tower has disappeared, the Crystal Pillar and the Cloud Wall that coexisted with it should also change.
