The arena was in an uproar, but the deep-sea race players who were being secretly manipulated by Ai Si were in a sorry state.
A deep-sea creature covered in sharp spikes fell flat on its back. It struggled to its feet, its eyes filled with confusion.
"Damn it, how could I suddenly lose my footing?" It shook its head. "Was I too nervous?"
Not far away, an octopus-like deep-sea creature with tangled tentacles also tripped and fell hard, its tentacles getting into a knot and causing it to fall to the ground.
It pounded the ground in frustration, "What happened? I was so careful!"
In the audience, various deep-sea creatures were discussing among themselves.
"Tsk tsk, these deep-sea creatures are all show and no substance. They're a disgrace to our deep-sea race. They can't even stand properly." A huge whale-like creature shook its head.
"Don't say that, maybe it's just bad luck. After all, so many have fallen, a few more won't make a difference," a small seahorse nearby kindly defended.
"Luck? Ha! Competitions are all about skill. What's the point of participating if you don't have the skill?" The whale clan scoffed, spewing out a string of bubbles.
"I should have done it myself!"
"You! I think you'd be about the same if you went up there."
Upon hearing the result, the deep-sea creature's owner, a member of the S-class sea beast, became proud.
"Look, look! I told you we should treat our marine animals better. Look at mine, and look at those who abuse them."
"I knew I was right to bet on my sea monster! My sea monster has always lived up to expectations."
The other deep-sea creatures nodded in agreement.
"Indeed, so many deep-sea creatures that raise sea beasts went to participate in the competition. Although everyone fell badly, these few were particularly badly hurt."
"It really is karma."
"No, I guess I have to be nicer to my sea creature. It wanted to participate earlier, but I didn't agree. If there are any more competitions and it still wants to go, I'll send it."
After all, not everyone mistreats sea creatures; the vast majority of deep-sea creatures get along well with them.
As for those who abuse marine animals, people are too distant from each other in terms of ethnic differences to say anything.
These deep-sea creatures now see their "bad luck" as retribution.
With a long, drawn-out horn call, the first round of the competition came to an end.
The octopus excitedly waved its tentacles, leaped onto the ice curtain, and loudly announced the ranking results.
"Chirp chirp! (The first place is...)" It deliberately dragged out the tone, whetting the audience's appetite.
The deep-sea creatures below the stage held their breath, their eyes fixed on the octopus, their faces filled with tension and anticipation.
Some of the deep-sea creatures clenched their fists tightly, while others couldn't help but whisper their guesses.
The entire venue was so quiet you could hear a pin drop; only the sound of an octopus echoed in the air.
"Chirp chirp chirp! (Heavyweight sea monster!)" The octopus finally shouted out the name of the number one.
