Chapter 4 Raising a Shark and Expanding the Raft (1/3)

"I've been waiting for you for so long!"

The fish that Gu Xi had been waiting for finally walked into the net, and Gu Xi was overjoyed.

She took the wooden splinter and stabbed it directly into the shark's belly. The shark, in pain, gave up biting.

But instead of swimming away, it began to circle the raft, which was only 1 square meter in size.

This shark wasn't very big, about two meters long, and its dorsal fin looked like a sharp blade cutting through the sea.

It propels itself rapidly through the water by swinging its strong tail fin.

It slightly opened its mouth, revealing rows of sharp teeth that gleamed coldly in the sunlight.

Although this fish didn't look particularly fierce, it seemed to have good teeth and looked quite intimidating, so Gu Xi was quite satisfied with it.

She took out the prepared fish food and sprinkled it directly around the shark's mouth.

The shark, which was originally fierce and violent, seemed to smell an unparalleled delicacy the moment the fish food entered the water. It opened its mouth wide, swung its jaws forward, and slurped the food into its mouth.

[Fish locked in...]

[Fish locked.]

[Fish-raising mode now activated.]

Three consecutive beeps indicated that Gu Xi's feeding plan had been successful. She opened the fish-raising system, and new content appeared on the taming interface.

Name: Number 1 (Tentative)

Species: Shark (?)

Taming progress: 1%

Interaction: 8% (0/3)

Feed 10% (0/3)

Food intake: 1

Note: Interaction and feeding frequency are updated daily at 00:00.

In addition to the information, the interface also features a cute chibi-style shark.

There was a question mark after the category. Gu Xi clicked on it casually and found that it was all information about sharks.

The interface of the fish-raising system is very clear. If she completes the daily interaction and feeding tasks, it will take at least two days to tame a fish.

Watching the shark with its adorable, blank eyes swim around the raft, Gu Xi crouched down and waved from about 20 centimeters above the water.

As if sensing the call of the person feeding the shark, it swam over happily and then touched her hand with the top of its head.

The fish felt cool to the touch and was also a bit hard, so Gu Xi didn't find it very comfortable to pet.

However, seeing how well-behaved it was, she took out another portion of fish food and fed it to the shark.

After one interaction and one feeding, the shark's taming progress reached 19%.

In the following time, Gu Xi fished up the box again, after all, she was still quite far from her goal of ten pieces of wood.

After working for another hour or so, Gu Xi retrieved two boxes.

Found: 1 bottle of mineral water, 2 iron nails, 2 fibers, 1 piece of plastic, 1 200g seaweed and pork floss bread, and 2 pieces of wood.

She was lucky this time; she got not only mineral water but also wood, plus the dismantled wooden crates, giving her six pieces of wood in one go.

Including the previous 7 portions, the total number of timber portions has now reached 13.

Having achieved her small goal ahead of schedule, Gu Xi rewarded herself with a sip of water.

So far, she has caught six boxes and has more or less figured out some patterns in how the wooden boxes are produced.

For example, the total number of items in the wooden box is less than 5, and the types are not many, mostly basic materials.
