"The nature of the Deep-Sea Humans is plain for all to see. Their willingness to cooperate is a good thing for many of us Deep-Sea Clan. But you, you start off with madness, telling them to go and die. This isn't discussing cooperation; you're clearly trying to force them to their deaths!"
"You don't actually think you're so great, do you? You're not even SS-rank yet, how dare you challenge someone of SS rank? Who gave you the guts!"
The sea urchin race is a formidable species in the deep sea. Although not as top-tier as the SSS-class, its population is enormous and its defenses are formidable, making it a force that most deep-sea creatures dare not provoke easily.
Its statement undoubtedly signals a wavering of neutrality among the deep-sea creatures.
"The deep-sea humans are different from us. They rose to power suddenly and possess unheard-of technologies. Who can guarantee they don't have other intentions towards the deep sea? Making them pay some 'pledge of allegiance' is also for the safety of the entire deep-sea world," the serpentine snake said sinisterly.
"Safety?" Flame Scale couldn't help but let out another "poof," so angry that it wanted to spit out a small burst of blue-purple flames.
"I think you guys are the ones with something to hide, you can't stand seeing other fish! If you're not happy, then let's fight. After we get out of here, your Grandpa Flame Scale will be waiting for you anytime!"
While Flamescale's words were crude, they also reflected the sentiments of many neutral races. In the deep sea world, strength reigns supreme, but even that doesn't preclude a modicum of decorum. The predatory behavior of races like the Illusion Jellyfish and the Spiny Eel was indeed rather unseemly.
The octopus clan chief then slowly spoke.
“Phantom Jellyfish, Spiny Eel, you’ve gone too far. In the ocean, strength reigns supreme. If you’re really not convinced, feel free to do your thing once you’re outside. But don’t treat the deep-sea creatures here like fools.”
It turned to Gu Xi.
"I think the 'contract system' proposed by your deep-sea human race is a very good start. As for your island construction and future development, I believe that as long as you have the strength, no deep-sea race will interfere."
The octopus clan chief's statement acted as a reassurance, easing the tense atmosphere in the meeting room considerably.
It was simply because it expressed the sentiments of the deep-sea creatures present.
Seeing this, the jellyfish knew that it was no longer possible to force humans to submit through such extreme conditions. It gently swayed its body, and its tone softened slightly.
“Old Octopus, you’re right. Perhaps my previous suggestion was a bit too hasty. But if the Deep Sea Human Race wants to establish itself in the Deep Sea World, it must show some sincerity that can convince everyone. Empty words will ultimately not reassure people.”
“Sincerity?” Gu Xi’s eyes were calm and unwavering. “Our presence here is the greatest expression of sincerity. We are showcasing our achievements, explaining our ideas, and expressing our willingness to engage in equal dialogue with all ethnic groups. This is our sincerity.”
"If that's not enough, then I'd like to know, in your eyes, what kind of 'sincerity' is considered sufficient? Is it only when our deep-sea human race lays bare its heart and soul and offers up everything that we can earn your 'peace of mind'?"
Her words were neither humble nor arrogant, yet they carried an invisible pressure that left the jellyfish speechless for a moment.
Just then, Luo Lin, who had been standing silently behind Gu Xi, suddenly spoke. His voice was not loud, but it was exceptionally clear.
"Regarding 'sincerity' and 'trust,' I believe that actions speak louder than words."
Lorraine raised his head, his gaze sweeping over the representatives of the deep-sea race present. His eyes were deep and focused, and his SS-level aura made most of the deep-sea race present dare not ignore him.
"Right now, only we possess the information from the Tar era. Don't you want to know about the potential crisis?"
These words silenced the entire room. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
