Chapter 48 Strange Valley, Burning Potion (1/2)

48. Strange Valley, Burning Potion

The monkey was particularly agile, patting Gu Xi's red bottom every now and then, creating a very strong mocking effect.

Gu Xi aimed at the monkey and threw the shark tooth spike in his hand.

With a soft thud, the spikes sank into the soil, still a long way from their target.

Because both sides were running, Gu Xi's aim was very poor.

She kept her eyes fixed on the monkey, circled around it, pulled out the thorn, and continued her chase.

Panting, Gu Xi chased the monkey into a valley surrounded by rocks on three sides.

She stopped and looked around, trying to spot the mischievous monkey.

However, the monkeys vanished without a trace.

Apart from the echoing footsteps and the occasional birdsong, she seemed to be all alone in the valley.

Gu Xi looked at the valley.

The entrance to the valley was narrow, only a little over a meter wide. She peered inside and found it to be very spacious, the entire valley resembling a purse.

Clusters of light clouds drifted in the air at waist height, while the land beneath her feet was obscured by the hazy mist.

In addition, a tree grows in the valley with straight and upright branches, standing tall amidst the soft white clouds.

Most surprisingly, these trees are laden with brightly colored fruit.

They shimmer with candy-like colors, are about the size of ping-pong balls, round and plump, and exude an alluring luster.

Gu Xi stood at the entrance of the valley, hesitated for a moment, and then decided to enter the valley to explore.

She cautiously explored the ground beneath her feet, but the fluffy white clouds seemed to be crowding towards her.

These clouds don't resemble ethereal water vapor; they're more like a strange, misty cotton.

Upon seeing this strange thing for the first time, Gu Xi curiously picked up a cloud with her hands.

[Game Hint: Cotton Cloud Found]

Gu Xi found it rather strange and put a cotton cloud into her backpack.

She originally approached it with a try-it-out mentality, but unexpectedly, she actually succeeded.

[Cotton-like clouds: Clouds formed in special geographical environments, soft and fluffy, but because they are essentially clouds, they will dissipate soon after leaving their formation environment.]

Sure enough, a countdown timer appeared on the cloud.

Gu Xi put the cotton cloud back with some regret.

Gu Xi swept aside the cotton-like clouds with her hand, making room for herself to walk towards the trees.

Walking under the tree, Gu Xi casually picked a pink candy-colored fruit.

[Game Hint: Sea Candy Found.]

[Pink Sea Candy: Eating it induces a feeling of happiness in other creatures. Duration: 1 hour.]

Gu Xi casually picked another blue fruit.

[Blue Sea Candy: Eating it causes other creatures to experience hallucinations of sadness. Duration: 1 hour.]

Next came the yellow fruits.

[Yellow Sea Candy: When consumed, it induces a warm hallucination in other creatures. Duration: 1 hour.]

Finally, there are the purple fruits.

[Purple Sea Candy: Consuming it induces elegant hallucinations in other creatures. Duration: 1 hour.]

"What strange and bizarre things are these?"

Gu Xi was both amused and exasperated upon seeing the description.

It's more like an atmosphere than a hallucination; after eating the fruit, a corresponding atmosphere is generated around you.

However, the things were quite interesting, so she decided to pick a few to play with.

Different colored sea candies still cannot be stacked, so Gu Xi could only reluctantly fill one compartment of her backpack with each type of fruit.

After searching for a while, Gu Xi couldn't find the monkey. It was getting late, so she decided to head back.

Sweeping away the cotton-like clouds, Gu Xi moved forward slowly.

Suddenly, a strange place caught her attention.

It was a pile of rubble clinging to the rocky wall of the valley.

"Putting something like this here, so obviously, is clearly meant to be noticed!"

Gu Xi complained as she walked toward the corner of the wall.

As you dig through the pile of rubble, the contents gradually come to light.

"banana?"

"Condensed fruit?"
