Chapter 5 Strange Activities, Planting Box Blueprint (2/3)

Gu Xi gripped the end of the fishing rod with both hands and pulled hard to the right, causing the fishing line and hook, which had been carried away by the wind, to bend to the right.

This time, the fishhook successfully hooked onto the wooden box.

The wooden crate had been hooked. Gu Xi reeled in the line and dragged the crate back.

Once the wooden crates were brought ashore, Gu Xi checked the time. The first crate had been retrieved in less than 20 minutes. The retrieval speed was almost twice as fast as before the event.

Gu Xi grinned; she was very satisfied with the event.

After removing the wooden crates, the contents were laid directly on the raft, eliminating the need to open the crates.

The wooden crate successfully provided Gu Xi with two pieces of timber and a bottle of mineral water.

Although the items weren't many, getting her one of her key needs—mineral water—was a good start.

After quickly packing up his supplies, Gu Xi focused his attention back on the fishing box, carefully casting his line at the right moment.

And so, she pulled the boxes back to the raft one by one.

In just over an hour, they caught five wooden boxes.

[Game Announcement: There are 5 minutes left until the end of this event.]

The announcement that the game event was over sounded, but Gu Xi acted as if she hadn't heard it, staring intently at a floating box.

This box is clearly different from the others; even from a distance, you can tell that its workmanship is more refined.

That's it!

Upon seeing it for the first time, Gu Xi was certain that this was the final target of her activities for the day.

However, the box was more than 5 meters away from her.

The other crates seemed to be trying to distract her, drifting into her grappling range and constantly moving closer to her, while the particular crate seemed to be moving further away.

How can we tolerate this!

Gu Xi immediately took out a piece of wood, holding one end in her hand and submerging the other end in the water. She shook and swung the wood with both hands, trying to use it as a paddle.

[Game Hint: Wood is not an oar and cannot control the raft's direction.]

After her first attempt, Gu Xi immediately received a notification from the game.

Although the game discourages using items for multiple purposes, using wood to make paddles still has some slight effect.

And this small effect is exactly what Gu Xi wanted.

Yes, she was gambling, giving up a chance that would guarantee her a regular wooden crate in order to pursue a special wooden crate with a slim chance of success.

It was precisely that slight displacement provided by the wood that prompted her to speed up her work.

[Event countdown: 3 minutes 46 seconds]

Gu Xi had a clear goal and swung towards the special wooden crate.

[Event countdown: 2 minutes 20 seconds]

There are still 4 meters to go before reaching the special wooden crate.

At this distance, if it's not during the day, she will definitely try to hook the hook. Even if she misses the first time, she will always be able to hook it the second or third time.

But now, with the raft accelerating and rocking, her chances of hooking onto it are slim.

Once the event period ends, this special wooden crate will likely disappear.

If she gets just a little closer, her chances of success will double.

[Event countdown: 50 seconds]

The estimated distance to the special wooden crate is 3 meters.

Not enough!

With 50 seconds left, she can still increase her chances.

[Event countdown: 30 seconds]

The estimated distance to the special wooden crate is 2.5 meters.

Gu Xiteng stood up abruptly, quickly aimed, and with a flick of his rod, hooked the special treasure chest securely. He pulled back with all his might.
