Chapter 55 Taking the Initiative, Burning the Island (2/2)

But after visiting the island twice, she also realized that many limited supplies could only be found on the island.

She's already a big step ahead of everyone else, so it's okay if she's a little ahead again.

So Gu Xi summoned the sharks, and had them propel the small boat eastward.

On the 16th, the midday temperature reached 46℃, but for Gu Xi, who had drunk some heat-relieving medicine, it was just a bit humid and hot.

The sharks pulled the small boat forward at great speed, creating a gust of wind.

Gu Xi had a sudden inspiration and made another self-cooling air conditioner, placing it at the bow of the boat. She stood behind the air conditioner, enjoying the refreshing cool breeze.

The shark was moving very fast, and the surrounding seawater could be seen receding visibly.

This speed is many times faster than that of a small boat drifting with the current.

The sharks continued to pull the small boat forward.

As the sun sets, the sky is bathed in a golden glow, and the sea sparkles like countless diamonds.

Suddenly, a burst of vibrant colors bloomed on the horizon, a gradient of orange-red appeared, and the clouds gradually transitioned from a delicate pink to a deep vermilion.

These colors are not alone; they blend and permeate each other, forming distinct layers of fiery clouds.

Within just a few minutes, the fiery sunset clouds burst into Gu Xi's view.

This was the first time Gu Xi had seen a fiery sunset in several days. Gazing at this rare celestial phenomenon, a strange excitement welled up inside her.

However, as she got closer, she gradually realized that something was wrong.

That fiery sunset cloud seemed to be more than just a natural wonder; thick smoke could be faintly seen rising from it, accompanied by waves of heat.

Immediately afterwards, an even more vibrant red appeared in sight.

It's fire!

The flames, set against the backdrop of the fiery clouds, appeared exceptionally dazzling, as if they were about to devour the entire sky.

Gu Xi took a closer look and couldn't help but gasp.

It turns out that at the center of that fiery sunset was an island that was burning fiercely!

Flames raged, flames soared into the sky, and the red flames intertwined with the fiery clouds, creating a scene that was both beautiful and terrifying.

Gu Xi checked the time; it was only a little past 5 p.m. Normally, the fiery clouds shouldn't appear at this time.

But given the massive fires burning the island, this scene doesn't seem out of place at all.

Good news, the island has been found.

Bad news, the island is on fire!

The question is, what should she do?

It's definitely not possible to go to the island today.

After all, with that kind of fire, no one would dare to go up.

She had taken a heat-relieving medicine, not a fire-avoiding one. At that temperature, going up there would have been suicide.

But she felt it would be a loss to give up the island she had finally found.

After some hesitation, Gu Xi decided to stay there and wait until the island rose up tomorrow before assessing the situation.

Since there is no wind, there is no need for anchors or sharks anymore.

Gu Xi immediately stopped the shark, and the boat didn't move.

A raging fire brings more than just smoke, flames, and heat. It also brings a variety of smells.

Gu Xi felt a wave of heat. She looked at the thermometer and saw that the temperature here was as high as 56°C.

"It seems that there is an upper limit to the temperature control effect of heatstroke relief medicine."

She was glad she knew this beforehand, and even more glad that she hadn't recklessly ventured onto the burning island.

Fortunately, I had my own air conditioning, and the temperature dropped significantly as soon as I entered the room.

However, Gu Xi soon became uneasy.

She was fine, but the things in the planting box and the chickens and ducks had problems.

Startled, Gu Xi quickly retreated to a distance of over a kilometer.

A kilometer away, the temperature was 48°C, and the plants and chickens and ducks in the planting box had only just recovered a little.

However, the plants suffered from the heatwave's debuff. This chapter has been read (please click to continue reading the next chapter!).
