Gu Xi: "What, half a steamed bun?"
Xu Lulu: "I saw a half-steamed bun listed for sale, and the seller's name is Gu Xi. Is that you?"
Gu Xi thought back and realized that such a thing had indeed happened. So, someone saw her steamed bun? She felt quite embarrassed that only half a bun had been put on the shelf.
Gu Xi: "Yes..."
Xu Lulu: "Did you break this steamed bun in half or bite it with your mouth?"
Gu Xi was a little confused. The message she wrote was clearly about negotiating the trade of precious materials, so how did it turn into discussing half a steamed bun?
Gu Xi: "Broken open."
Xu Lulu: "That's great!"
As soon as Xu Lulu finished speaking, Gu Xi heard the message that the transaction had been successful; the transaction involved a piece of timber.
Gu Xi's lips twitched. She felt that things were getting out of hand, even more outrageous than when someone was causing trouble in Zhushi Lane.
Gu Xi: "Didn't you build eight rafts in the chat channel? Are you still short of food?!"
Xu Lulu swallowed a mouthful of steamed bun and slowly said, "Don't you think I'm lying?"
Gu Xi: "It's fun to show off for a while, but when you die, it'll be even more of a joke."
Xu Lulu: "You're right. But I really do need food, and I also need water."
Xu Lulu's situation completely piqued Gu Xi's curiosity. She couldn't understand how someone capable of building eight rafts could lack water and food.
Seeing that Gu Xi didn't speak, Xu Lulu continued, "Because all the boxes I opened were filled with building materials."
Upon hearing this, Gu Xi instantly understood. She didn't know whether to comment on Xu Lulu's luck or not.
You could say she was bad, but the chest she got contained enough materials to expand her raft to eight pieces. You could say she was lucky, but she didn't even get a drop of water or food.
Xu Lulu: "What kind of negotiation or deal are you talking about?"
Gu Xi: "Cultivation soil".
Xu Lulu opened her backpack to check her supplies and found this item before continuing the conversation: "Yes, but today I only need water and food."
Thinking of Gu Xi, who would even buy half a steamed bun, she felt that Gu Xi's request was reasonable.
Gu Xi: "What do you want?"
Xu Lulu: "Five portions of potting soil, in exchange for a bottle of water or a whole food."
Gu Xi thought about it and felt that the exchange was acceptable, and neither party would lose out, so she agreed.
Xu Lulu: "You answered so readily. Won't you take this opportunity to rip me off? Say something like I need food and water to survive, but the potting soil you need can wait, or someone else might have it and you can exchange it for it at a cheaper price."
This kind of tug-of-war is what Gu Xi hates the most.
Of course, it's undeniable that some people like to maximize the value of items, but this is just the beginning. If you expend that kind of energy at every step, you'll be exhausted.
No need, really no need, that's good enough.
Gu Xi: "I prefer a fixed price; stalling isn't my style."
Xu Lulu was taken aback, then smiled and said, "It seems you're quite satisfied with the conditions I offered."
Gu Xi: "So, I'm planning to exchange this for a bottle of water and a compressed biscuit. Do you have ten portions of potting soil?"
Xu Lulu: "Yes, trade, put it on the list."
Gu Xi liked straightforward people. After hanging up the phone, she listed the goods in the trade according to the agreed terms.
Sure enough, she soon received a notification that the transaction was successful.
Then she received another message from Xu Lulu:
Happy transaction, nice to meet you.
Along with the message came two portions of potting soil gifted by Xu Lulu. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
