Chapter 83 Novel Project: Revisiting the Cabin (2/2)

Gu Xi: "Are there many of these?"

Li Ruoyang: "Not many, I only have two pieces, each of which is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper."

Gu Xi: "What do you want me to do by telling me this?"

Li Ruoyang: "I want to invest!"

Gu Xi: "Investment?"

Li Ruoyang: "Yes, because writing a novel takes a lot of time. My current resources are not abundant. I not only have to face shark attacks, but also train my attributes, so I simply don't have time to write."

Upon hearing Li Ruoyang's explanation, Gu Xi understood Li Ruoyang's predicament.

Although she knew Li Ruoyang could produce novels, he couldn't possibly take the supplies from her before the novels were even in the works.

After weighing the options, Gu Xi came up with a solution.

Gu Xi: "How about this, you write a short story for me to see first. I will make an investment based on the story."

Li Ruoyang: "Okay, it's a deal. I'll hand over the novel to you by this time tomorrow night at the latest."

Gu Xi checked the time; it was 10 p.m.

Gu Xi: "Okay, if you still haven't been able to contact me by then, just contact me again the next day."

Li Ruoyang agreed.

After hanging up the call, Gu Xi fell asleep in blissful contentment.

On the 26th of the maritime calendar, the sun could not penetrate the thick white fog, but the faint light still awakened the sleeping people.

Gu Xi woke up from her dream and habitually checked the time. After that, she began her simple routine: washing up, eating, and packing up her shark-shaped suitcase.

With everything ready, she tied the long rope around her waist again and directed the shark to pull the boat closer to the island.

Upon arriving on the island, she followed her memories from the previous day and headed towards the eerie hut.

The thick fog nearly caused her to get lost several times. Fortunately, she had marked the path on her way back yesterday and eventually found the eerie hut without incident.

Gu Xi released her mental energy and first explored the area around the eerie hut.

Only after finding no danger did she use the defensive barrier to step back into the cabin.

Although she had only seen the strange formation once, the mental disturbance it caused was so pronounced that her emotional memory of it was vivid enough.

Gu Xi walked cautiously along the wall, avoiding the range of the formation. After a few minutes, she finally reached the table.

Yesterday, she only saw it from afar; the table was messy and covered in dust. Now that she was in front of it, she realized just how thick the dust was.

Remembering yesterday's lesson, Gu Xi didn't immediately take action. Instead, she used the sharp spike in her hand to examine the broken tabletop.

Some of the bottles and jars were empty, and some even had torn corners. The paper was not only yellowed but also chewed up by insects, containing no useful information whatsoever.

After searching through it for a while, all I found was a pile of junk and nothing else.

Gu Xi twitched her lips and focused her gaze on the drawer.

In addition to the tabletop, the table is equipped with two drawers.

She opened the drawer, and dust instantly billowed into the air, irritating her nasal passages and making her want to sneeze.

Simply covering it with clothes, Gu Xi carefully searched the drawer after the dust had settled.

The first drawer contained a bag; opening the bag revealed some gold coins inside.

Gu Xi had seen this kind of gold coin before; it was the strange gold coin he had obtained on Fire Island.

Gu Xi put the gold coins into her backpack and checked the quantity. There was a large bag of gold coins, totaling 182.

Then she opened another drawer, and she knew the contents of the second drawer all too well—these were medicine bottles.

Gu Xi picked up a vial of medicine to examine it.

[Basic mental health remedy: Drink it when you have a headache.]

Gu Xi put away the three vials of medicine and rummaged through the drawer again, but unfortunately, he only had the finished medicine, not the formula.

She closed the drawer, carefully moved it, and leaned it against another table.

The table itself is also full of junk, but the drawers might be a different story. (This chapter has been finished. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
