Chapter 1 Ocean Survival Game
At 5 a.m. in July, the sky was still overcast, and the whole city was silent, still shrouded in sleep.
Luo Qing, who had been staying up late reading a novel, held her phone in her hand. Unable to stay awake any longer, she finally closed her eyes and fell asleep, unwilling to give up.
At 5:20, a white light suddenly appeared in the sky. The light grew increasingly dazzling and its coverage expanded, soon enveloping the entire Earth.
In an instant, everyone vanished into thin air, and the city became a dead city.
"It's so cold! Did I forget to close the window?" Luo Qing shivered from the cold wind and curled up to find a blanket.
"Where's my blanket? Did it fall off the bed again? This bed is so hard today, my back is aching from sleeping on it." Luo Qing finally realized something was wrong and sat up, opening her sleepy eyes.
Luo Qing sat there, as if time had frozen. The scene before her exceeded all her imagination and understanding.
All around was a vast ocean, with a few small black dots on the distant sea surface. The sky was even more unusual, with four suns, one in each of the four directions!
Looking at myself, I was wearing tattered beggar clothes that I didn't know where they came from, sitting on a broken wooden raft that was about 4x4 meters long, with a broken bowl in front of me.
"What does this mean? Begging at sea? There's no one around here who can give me money," Luo Qing said, pursing her lips in surprise.
The sea breeze, carrying a salty, damp scent, brushed against her face, and Luo Qing couldn't help but shiver. She hugged herself tightly, trying to retain the last bit of warmth she had.
"Beep—, welcome to the ocean survival game, I am your beloved system." A cold, emotionless electronic voice suddenly rang in Luo Qing's ears, and at the same time, a blue screen like those in a science fiction movie appeared in front of her.
The screen is divided into six areas: player information, player chat area, system inventory, system chat box, system shop, and weather.
"Beep—Due to the extremely harsh environment on Earth, all humans have now been transferred to the game. In order to survive, players please note the following:"
"First, death in the game is real death, so please do not have the idea of committing suicide or quitting the game."
"Secondly, each player will receive a fishing net to salvage resources and an SSS-level lottery chance as a newbie gift pack."
"Third, the game weather will change unpredictably, and extreme weather will occur frequently."
"Fourth, the first three days of the game are a new player protection period, during which players will not be attacked by monsters. Please take this opportunity to collect resources as soon as possible."
Fifth, to improve player survival rate, all players will receive one A-level lottery draw opportunity at 8 AM on the first three days.
"Sixth, please make sure to protect your raft. Players who lose their raft will be forcibly eliminated by the system."
"The new player gift pack will be distributed in 15 minutes. Have a great time, and goodbye!"
As soon as she finished speaking, a fishing net appeared out of thin air at Luo Qing's feet. A line of text automatically appeared on it:
[Fishing Net: Used to scoop bubbles in the game to obtain mysterious resources, or to directly retrieve resources from the sea. No loss during use.]
Luo Qing rubbed her messy hair and opened the player information.
Player Name: Luo Qing
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Strength: 8/50 (slightly higher than average)
Speed: 5/50 (Normal level)
Luck rating: 100/100 (Unbelievable!)
Health: 200 (A bit squishy)
Skills: None available
Luo Qing was stunned to see the maximum luck stat. Her parents died when she was only a month old, and her relatives cursed her as a jinx, abandoning her in an orphanage. How could she possibly have maximum luck? Was it true that the more unlucky you were in real life, the luckier you were in the game? But she hadn't been that unlucky.
Lost in thought, Luo Qing opened a few more pages.
The chat is divided into several parts:
World Chat Zone (Locked)
Regional chat area:
187488 (100000/100000)
Friend chat area (empty)
Group chat: (empty)
Luo Qing guessed that 100,000 likely referred to the population, and 187,488 to the region code. It seemed that humanity had been divided into regions based on numbers of 100,000.
The chat was constantly scrolling through player messages, making Luo Qing dizzy.
[Qiao Shu: I haven't fed my dog yet, I want to go back, let me go back, dog system.]
Liu Bo: The number of people in the chat group has changed; two people have died!
Xu Yifeng: Help! I don't want to die! I want to go home! Waaah! I want to go home! Someone please save me!
Luo Xin: Didn't the system say that the first three days were a safe period? How come people are still dying?
Mu Qimeng: Maybe he couldn't swim, and was transported here while he was sleeping, fell into the water and drowned.
Tian Ke: The system said to collect bubbles, but I didn't see any bubbles on the sea.
……
Luo Qing also found it strange. She had looked around and hadn't found the bubbles the system had mentioned. However, the system said to "scoop them up," so maybe they were in the sea.
Open the system inventory; it has 20 slots, each capable of holding 1000 of the same item, and time will not run within the inventory.
"The system is quite generous; this way the food won't spoil." Luo Qing finally felt a little happier.
The system shop is where you sell resources at reasonable prices, but it's a one-way transaction where you exchange resources for coins from the system.
However, Luo Qing felt that players could exchange any resources they wanted via private message, so there shouldn't be any problems with trading.
The purpose of gold coins is currently unknown. However, the system panel indicates that gold coins can be obtained not only by selling resources, but also by collecting bubbles, defeating monsters, and participating in lotteries.
The weather forecast is similar to a real-world weather report, showing the weather conditions for today: July 3rd, Ocean Calendar Year 1, Sunny, Light Breeze...
I checked the time; it'll be six o'clock in one minute, and then I can draw the newbie gift pack.
"I wonder what's in the newbie gift pack. If my luck is maxed out, I should get something pretty good." Luo Qing said expectantly. "In novels, people in the apocalypse always have spatial abilities. I wonder if there are any spatial abilities among the prizes in the lottery."
At six o'clock sharp, a golden lottery button appeared on the screen, behind which was a spinning wheel similar to that of Pinduoduo.
Luo Qing bowed to the sky before clicking on the lottery. The sound of good luck rang out, and the wheel on the screen began to spin rapidly. Colorful prizes flashed before her eyes, and her heart rose and fell with it, as if she were experiencing a thrilling adventure.
Suddenly, the pointer slowed down, and Luo Qing held her breath nervously, her eyes glued to the screen. The prizes on the wheel flashed by one by one, and her heart pounded with each turn, until finally—
[Congratulations to player Luo Qing for obtaining the game's unique God-level space; soul binding is about to begin.] Exciting text flashed on the system screen.
Luo Qing's eyes lit up, and she was so excited she almost jumped up. "Is this the power of maxed-out luck? Hahaha, this is so awesome!"
The next second, an ancient and complex array appeared beneath Luo Qing's feet, and she felt something connecting her to it. Following this feeling, she entered a new space in a flash.
Before me stretched fertile black soil, all prepared for direct cultivation, with a crystal-clear stream flowing alongside it.
Luo Qing even discovered that time within the space could be adjusted by region, achieving the effect of one month inside and one day outside in the fastest time.
"My God, this is simply a survival game artifact! And it truly is an artifact." Luo Qing looked at this vast expanse of land with bubbling happiness, and she couldn't wait to plant something.
It seems that Chinese people awaken their farming genes as they get older.
Unfortunately, there were no seeds to plant now, and Luo Qing returned to the raft with regret.
"I'm a little hungry." She picked up the net, hoping to catch something to fill her stomach.
The net is very long, about 1.5 meters, and the front pocket is also very large, big enough to fit a six-year-old child.
Luo Qing put the chipped bowl into her backpack. Although it was old and worn, it was one of her few possessions, and she couldn't let it fall into the sea.
She looked down along the edge of the raft.
He couldn't see anything clearly, only a pale blue expanse. But Luo Qing still decided to try and fish it out; after all, there was nothing else to do, so he could only try and fish to pass the time.
Luo Qing stretched out the net and moved it left and right in the sea, intending to pull it up.
"It seems a bit heavy. I wonder what I've caught. I hope it's food. I haven't had breakfast and I'm starving..." Luo Qing thought as she lifted it up.
Then, she saw a strange, large bubble in the net.
