Chapter 69 Successfully Rescuing the Goddess

Chapter 69 Successfully Rescuing the Goddess

Fang Tai and Mo Ming stood guard at the cave entrance, anxiously watching the movements below. Moonlight shone on the steep mountain peaks, adding a touch of mystery to the tranquil night.

The villagers below had gradually dispersed, their shadows stretched long in the moonlight, like a group of lost and bewildered ghosts.

Their shouts and curses gradually faded away and eventually disappeared into the night sky.

Once they were sure it was safe, the two breathed a sigh of relief and turned to enter the cave.

The cave was dark and damp, with the flickering light of torches adding a touch of warmth to the deep space.

The Fairy of Yaochi and Taoxi were already sitting on one side of the cave. Although their faces were pale, their eyes shone with a determined light.

Luo Qing stood beside them, her long sword sheathed, but her aura remained cold and sharp.

"The villagers have all gone back."

Upon hearing this, Luo Qing and the others finally relaxed.

She gently sheathed the longsword on her back and handed it back to Qi Ru. In the firelight, her face appeared even more resolute and beautiful, her eyes gleaming with an indomitable light.

She walked over to the Fairy of Yaochi and Taoxi, squatted down, and asked softly, "Are you both alright?"

The fairy maiden from Yaochi nodded slightly, her face pale, but her voice was firm: "We are alright, thank you for coming to save us."

Tao Xi looked at Luo Qing and the others with gratitude, her eyes glistening with tears: "You are truly our saviors."

Fang Tai and Mo Ming also came over. They sat around the fire, the firelight illuminating their tired but resolute faces.

Luo Qing frowned slightly and said in a deep voice, "Although the villagers have temporarily retreated, they will not give up easily. We need to think of a way to completely solve this problem."

The fairy of Yaochi sighed softly. She looked up at the cave ceiling, a hint of confusion mixed with determination in her eyes: "I can't let the villagers be harmed anymore. I will take Taoxi back to the top of Yaotai."

"Return to the summit of Yaotai?" Luo Qing frowned, looking at the Fairy of Yaochi with concern. "But wouldn't doing that bring danger upon yourselves?"

The fairy of Yaochi shook her head. She stood up, her figure appearing even more ethereal in the firelight, as if she might be swept away by the wind at any moment.

"The summit of Yaotai is my home and the source of my strength. As long as I disagree, they will never be able to enter."

"Only there can I completely get rid of the villagers' entanglement and protect Taoxi and the peace of the world."

Her voice was soft yet firm, every word conveying an undeniable determination.

Luo Qing and the others exchanged glances, all agreeing that this method seemed feasible.

As a celestial being, the Fairy of Yaochi possesses immense power. Returning to the summit of Yaotai would indeed protect her and Taoxi, while also preventing the villagers from continuing their harassment.

Moreover, this way, the villagers would no longer be able to find any trace of them, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone.

Mo Ming looked at the Fairy of Yaochi, a hint of worry flashing in his eyes, but more so with respect and trust.

He took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "Goddess, the villagers are asleep in the latter half of the night. It is safest to set off then."

Moonlight streamed through the cave entrance, illuminating Mo Ming's face and highlighting his resolute features. His voice echoed within the cave, carrying an undeniable firmness.

The fairy of Yaochi nodded, gazing at the bright moon outside the cave, a resolute glint in her eyes.

"Okay, then we'll set off in the middle of the night."

Although her voice was soft, it carried an undeniable power.

The night was as dark as ink, and the moonlight as smooth as water.

Inside the cave, the flickering firelight illuminated several tired yet determined faces.

Luo Qing, Qi Ru, Fang Tai, and Mo Ming sat around the fire.

In the latter half of the night, the villagers were already fast asleep, and the entire village was immersed in silence.

The Fairy of Yaochi stood up, her figure appearing even more ethereal in the firelight, as if she might be swept away by the wind at any moment. Tao Xi stood up immediately after her, both of their faces filled with determination.

"We should set off now," the Fairy of Yaochi said softly, her voice gentle yet carrying an undeniable power.

Luo Qing and the others stood up and bowed deeply to the Fairy of Yaochi and Tao Xi, expressing their sincerest blessings and respect.

The Jade Pool Fairy and Peach Blossom stood at the cave entrance, preparing to return to the Jade Terrace. Their figures appeared even more ethereal in the moonlight, as if they had blended into the tranquil night.

The fairy of Yaochi turned around and looked at Luo Qing and the others, her eyes shining with determination.

She smiled gently, the black iron token in her hand shimmering faintly in the moonlight.

"If you encounter any difficulties, you can seek my help." Her voice was gentle yet firm, like a gentle breeze blowing through the hearts of Luo Qing and the others.

Luo Qing and the others nodded in agreement, watching as the figures of the Fairy of Yaochi and Tao Xi gradually disappeared into the night.

Their silhouettes stretched long in the moonlight, like two eternal beams of light, frozen in this tranquil and mysterious night.

Qi Ru turned to look at Luo Qing, the moonlight illuminating her beautiful face, her eyes filled with anticipation: "Luo Qing, once they successfully return to the summit of Yaotai, our mission will be complete, right?"

Luo Qing nodded slightly, gazing intently into the distance.

"Yes, our mission is almost complete," she said softly, a hint of relief in her voice.

In the firelight, Luo Qing's figure appeared even more resolute and beautiful.

As night fell, the sky began to lighten with the first light of dawn.

Luo Qing and the others stood at the entrance of the cave, gazing at the gradually brightening horizon in the distance, a strange sense of anticipation welling up in their hearts.

Suddenly, a strong feeling of dizziness struck, as if the whole world was spinning.

Luo Qing and the others kept their eyes tightly shut, struggling to maintain their balance. When they opened their eyes again, the scene before them had changed dramatically.

They returned to a time more than a decade later, standing at the foot of the immortal mountain atop Yaotai.

But for some reason, the notification sound indicating that the task was completed never rang.

The group decided to go back to Peach Blossom Village for a visit.

When Luo Qing and the others stood at the entrance of Peach Blossom Village again, the scene before them left them speechless with astonishment.

The small village of yesteryear is long gone, replaced by a bustling town.

The streets are wide and flat, lined with shops on both sides, bustling with people.

In the distance, towering buildings rise majestically into the sky, their imposing presence awe-inspiring. The air is filled with the aromas of various foods and spices, mingled with the fresh scents of the countryside, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.

As Luo Qing and the others strolled through the streets of Peach Blossom Village, it felt as if they were in a flowing painting.

The shops lining both sides of the street were dazzling with their colorful signs, which shimmered in the sunlight. Pedestrians came and went in an endless stream, some hurrying along, others strolling leisurely, and everyone's face was filled with a happy smile.

Just then, a familiar voice interrupted Luo Qing and the others' thoughts.

"Luo Qing, you're back!"

Everyone turned to look and saw a girl standing not far away, smiling at them.

It was actually the village chief, Tao Ruonan!

Luo Qing and the others looked at Tao Ruonan in surprise. They had gone back in time and changed the development of this village. Logically speaking, Tao Ruonan should not know them.

Judging from her behavior, she clearly remembered them. Why is that?
