Whoosh whoosh!!!!
Luxury yachts sped across the vast ocean, leaving trails of white foam in their wake.
Chen Ping checked the direction indicated by the island's compass, and after confirming that it was correct, he set the yacht to autopilot mode, then left the cockpit and headed to the lower cabin.
When he stepped into the cabin, the scene before him left him speechless: several plates of unidentified food, black in color and emitting a strange aura, were placed on the dining table.
Chen Ping stared at the "dishes" on the table with a puzzled look on his face, then gasped. He quickly turned his gaze to the kitchen and found Gabriel busy inside.
He had a bad feeling. After weighing the options carefully, Chen Ping quietly threw all the "dishes" on the table into the sea, thinking that perhaps these unknown foods would become "delicacies" for sea monsters.
Unfortunately, Chen Ping was unaware that not long after the yacht sailed away, a sea monster over a thousand meters long suddenly appeared on the surface of the sea where the dishes had been thrown out, belly up.
......
Gabriel was completely unaware that Chen Ping had quietly thrown her meticulously prepared dishes into the sea. She remained focused on cooking the final dish in the kitchen. The kitchen was filled with the clanging of spatulas against woks and the aroma of various spices. Gabriel's only thought was to present Chen Ping with a perfect dinner at sea.
At the same time, after successfully dealing with the unidentified food, Chen Ping immediately opened the chat group and quickly placed an order for several special dishes that were dark in color and looked quite tempting, to ensure that they could replace the original "dark cuisine" in time.
Soon, a group member accepted the order, and several dishes were quickly delivered. Chen Ping carefully placed them on the table, trying to restore them to their original state to avoid arousing Gabriel's suspicion.
Afterwards, Chen Ping returned to the cockpit with light steps, pretending that everything was normal, and continued to sail the luxury yacht on the vast sea, praying in his heart that Gabriel would not discover his little trick of replacing the dishes.
Gabriel finally finished cooking the last dish. She carefully carried the equally dark and translucent delicacy out of the kitchen and placed it on the table, alongside the previous dishes.
Looking at the dishes on the table, all with a similar style, Gabriel didn't notice anything amiss. On the contrary, she was quite satisfied with her cooking skills. She secretly guessed that the last dish's slightly different color was probably due to its longer cooking time, making it a deeper color.
Gabriel nodded in satisfaction, turned, and walked towards the cockpit to inform Chen Ping that dinner was ready. Her steps were light and cheerful, completely unaware that, except for the last dish, Chen Ping had cleverly substituted for the rest of the dishes she had prepared. Meanwhile, inside the cockpit, Chen Ping held his breath, closely watching Gabriel's every move, afraid his subtle actions would be exposed.
After Gabriel entered the cockpit, Chen Ping casually turned around and looked at her, then asked in confusion, "Well, Gabriel, it's so late, aren't you going to sleep?"
Upon hearing this, Gabriel glanced at the sky. Hmm, the sky was only just beginning to darken, but it would still be at least another half hour before it got completely dark. Was it already too late?
He then shook his head and said, "Since it's evening, let's go down for dinner. I've put my heart and soul into making these dishes, they're sure to taste just as good as what you made before. Come down and try them."
Upon hearing this, Chen Ping laughed and said, "Oh, really? Then I'll have to have a good taste. Come on, let's go downstairs."
Upon hearing this, Gabriel couldn't help but laugh, almost leaving Chen Ping speechless.
After the two went downstairs, Chen Ping looked at the dark and murky dishes in front of him and couldn't help but swallow. Thank goodness, he had replaced all the dishes except for the last one. Otherwise, he would have had to go to the bathroom several times during this meal.
Gabriel immediately pulled Chen Ping to sit down, then picked up her chopsticks, placed a piece of meat in Chen Ping's bowl, and said with a smile, "Try it and see how it tastes."
Seeing this, Chen Ping secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, it was the black sweet and sour pork he had bought, only the flour coating had been replaced with squid ink flour, which was why it looked so dark.
After taking a bite, Chen Ping nodded in satisfaction and smiled, "Not bad, this tastes good, sweet and sour, very delicious. You should try it yourself."
Chen Ping also put a few pieces of sweet and sour pork on Gabriel's plate, and then watched her eat.
Seeing this, Gabriel picked up a piece and ate it, then said with some confusion, "Hmm, the taste is indeed good, but something feels off. I remember this dish should be spicy, so why is it sweet and sour? Could it be..."
Upon hearing this, Chen Ping became worried and looked at Gabriel, asking, "Could it be? Could it be what?"
Gabriel: "Did I change the seasonings wrong? Did I mistake sugar for salt?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Ping breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Maybe, maybe. After all, the containers for salt and sugar are exactly the same, so it's inevitable that we'll make a mistake. Haha, wait a minute, I'll write something on the containers so you won't make a mistake in the future."
Upon hearing this, Gabriel happily replied, "Alright then, how about trying this dish as well?"
Seeing this, Chen Ping nodded. This dish is braised pork belly with preserved mustard greens, which is fine too; it's fatty but not greasy.
After the meal, all the food was eaten, including the dishes that Gabriel had cooked herself. There was no other way; if Gabriel had eaten them, wouldn't they have been exposed?
However, there was only one dish, and the portion was small. Otherwise, Chen Ping felt that he wouldn't have been able to finish it. Moreover, after this meal, a lot of questions popped into Gabrielle's little head because many of the dishes didn't taste right.
But Chen Ping kept rambling on and on, so he didn't suspect anything, only that his skills had improved.
Watching Gabriel clear the table, Chen Ping discreetly marked that group member. From now on, whenever Gabriel cooks, she'll have to buy the food from him; otherwise, if the taste isn't right, she'll be exposed.
After dinner, it got dark.
......
In the pitch-black night, the luxurious yacht continued its journey on the inky black sea, steadily heading towards its destination.
Sitting on the sofa, Chen Ping looked at Gabrielle, who was writing on the condiment containers, with a troubled expression. It was something they had mentioned at dinner earlier: writing on the containers would prevent them from making mistakes.
So right now, Gabriel is writing in the various containers with great interest, so she won't get them mixed up again. She's feeling very confident about tonight's dinner. If the seasonings she got wrong tasted so good, wouldn't it be even more delicious if she got them right?
