Chapter 853 Report! Strange Movements in the Dark Abyss Mist!

Angelica sat on her throne, gazing at the flickering flames before her. The light and shadow of the flames danced in her deep eyes, reflecting her complex thoughts.

She recalled her conversation with Seren, her heart filled with mixed emotions. Seren's realization brought her some comfort, but the reckless actions of the other Abyss Lords worried her deeply.

"If things are left to their own devices, the abyss will no longer be an abyss, but will become a breeding ground for indescribable things."

Angelica muttered to herself, her fingers tapping lightly on the armrest. Each tap seemed to strike a chord in her heart, reminding her of the weight of her responsibility.

She knew that relying solely on personal surveillance and restraint was far from enough; more effective measures had to be taken.

Therefore, Angelica decided to convene a meeting of Abyss Lords to make all the lords aware of the seriousness of the problem, and at the same time to formulate strict regulations to restrict the research and use of unspeakable power, just in case.

The meeting was prepared quickly and efficiently.

When the day arrived, the various abyss lords gathered from their respective territories. Some were curious, some were apprehensive, and others were disdainful and provocative.

Angelica stood in the center of the meeting hall, her gaze sweeping over each lord present, her eyes filled with both authority and a hint of barely perceptible worry.

"Lords, we are gathered here today because of an imminent crisis."

Angelica's voice echoed in the spacious hall, steady and powerful, "Some of us have begun to study that indescribable power, which not only violates the laws of the Abyss, but also plants a time bomb for the future of all of us."

She paused, glanced around to make sure every word reached the ears of the lords present, "I understand your thirst for power, but the price of such power is one we cannot afford."

We must establish a strict regulatory mechanism to prohibit unauthorized research, and violators will be severely punished.

......

A few days after the meeting, Angelica received requests from several lords to meet privately.

She knew that there might be discontent and challenges hidden behind this, but she still decided to meet with them one by one in order to find a way to solve the problem.

In a simply decorated reception room, the first lord to visit—Carlos, a demon lord known for his cunning—sat down and got straight to the point: "Lady Angelica, I have to question your new policies."

Restricting research into the unspeakable power is tantamount to stifling the Abyss's potential for advancement.

Angelica sat upright, her expression serious and calm: "Carlos, I understand your thirst for power, but you should also understand the kind of disaster that uncontrolled power will bring to the abyss."

We must find a balance between security and progress.

Carlos sneered: "Balance? My lord, aren't you being too idealistic? The essence of the abyss is chaos and struggle. We should embrace that power, not run away from it."

“Escape was not my intention, Carlos,” Angelica retorted. “I was seeking control, to prevent the Abyss from becoming the next battlefield.”

Do you really want to see us embroiled in endless war again?

The meeting ended in a tense atmosphere, and Carlos left with a look of resentment on his face.

Over the next few days, Angelica had similar conversations with several lords. Some lords expressed understanding and support, while others were furious, believing that she was stripping them of their power.

One of the Abyss Lords, named Morag, whose territory was a breeding ground for the study of unspeakable powers due to its special geographical location, expressed his dissatisfaction almost in the form of roars.

"Angelica, you are betraying the very nature of the Abyss! We should be free to explore, not bound by your so-called rules!"

Faced with Morag's anger, Angelica remained calm: "Morag, what I did was to protect the freedom of all of us."

Rules are not constraints, but rather guarantees of order. Without restraint, the abyss will collapse into internal strife before its external forces do.

After a series of difficult dialogues, Angelica was unable to completely eliminate the dissatisfaction of all the lords, but her firm stance and decisive actions gradually won the understanding and respect of some of them.

She knows that true peace and stability cannot be achieved through a single meeting or a few regulations; it requires sustained effort and a wise balance.

In the days that followed, Angelica not only strengthened oversight of unauthorized research, but also began working on establishing a more comprehensive education system.

The aim is to guide the Abyss Lords to understand the relationship between power and responsibility, allowing the power of the Abyss to develop within a controllable range, thereby ensuring that the future of the Abyss will not be devoured by unspeakable forces.

Unfortunately, the plan was quickly implemented in the territories of the few opposing lords, but the abyss lords who supported her were very cooperative.

Most of the Abyss Lords who supported her were those who had participated in that defensive battle; they were lords who had personally gone up to fight.

Those lords who researched the power of the unspeakable, except for one who participated in the war, were basically lords who only sent soldiers to support them, and were completely unaware of the terror of the power of the unspeakable!

......

The guard hurried into Angelica's office, his expression stern and his steps somewhat hurried, which was unusual, as guards are usually well-trained and able to remain calm.

He stopped, bowed respectfully, and said in a slightly nervous voice, "Lady Angelica! There is an emergency that needs to be reported immediately."
