Chapter 30: The Potter Sees the Light of Day
Cang Ming thought Li Xianzhen would faint from anger, but she didn't. Her lips trembled, her face was droopy, her legs were weak, and she seemed to have aged in the time it took to drink a cup of tea.
But she still moved her legs, taking one deep step and one shallow step, walked to the door, leaned against it and said, "Yier, what happened? Is what they said true?"
Hua Yi screamed shrilly, "Go away!"
"Ah." Li Xianzhen slid down the door panel and knelt on the ground, his nails digging deep into the wood. He suddenly cried out miserably, "Who is it! Tell mother! I'm going to kill him!"
Cang Ming advised: "Miss Li, things have come to this point, don't be impulsive, let's start from the beginning."
Li Xianzhen said: "I want to kill him."
Cang Ming said: "That shameless old man is a demon. Don't sacrifice your life in vain. I will help you make a long-term plan."
"I want to kill him," Li Xianzhen repeated. "Only by killing him can my child survive."
Cang Ming was speechless for a moment, then he heard Li Xianzhen keep saying, "Yier is ruined. He is ruined."
"Ms. Li, he wants to get up." Cang Ming said solemnly, but was interrupted.
"I'm going to kill him," Li Xianzhen said through gritted teeth. "Yier will never be happy again. I want him to understand that he has no hope, but hatred and revenge can keep him alive."
Cang Ming was completely speechless. She suddenly felt that after years of hunting ghosts, she had never even come close to becoming a god, yet a mother in the underworld seemed to handle things with ease, surpassing even a deity. Her master had once said that those with the strongest minds could conquer their enemies with their thoughts, even if they were powerless. When emotions reach their peak, they transform into profound internal energy, transforming branches into swords and leaves into wounding blows. Every branch and leaf could become a weapon. Perhaps Li Xianzhen could actually tear the Old Ghost Lotus to shreds with his bare hands.
Cang Ming said firmly: "Miss Li, don't worry, I will find that old ghost, and the last blow will be left to you."
Tian Xinshu pushed her aside, walked to Li Xianzhen and squatted down, curling up like a miniature snow mountain.
Tian Xinshu said, "Senior Sister, I have already taught a lesson to the man who harmed Yi'er."
Cang Ming glanced at Wei Ci and conveyed the message with his eyes: "Aren't Xue Diao and Lian Hua a group?" Wei Ci raised his eyebrows and did not comment.
Tian Xinshu continued, "That old ghost lives in Shiqiyan. I couldn't find Yi'er anywhere, and finally found out that he had kidnapped her... I went to Shiqiyan to confront him, but he escaped."
She glanced at Cang Ming and Wei Ci, as if describing a disgusting phenomenon: "These two despicable little thieves probably went to Shiqi Yan after me and rescued Yi Er."
Li Xianzhen acted as if she didn't hear what they said. She repeated, "I'm going to kill him."
In just one meal, her hair began to turn white. Tian Xinshu lifted her up and placed her on a worn chair.
Li Xianzhen raised his head like a criminal, looked at Tian Xinshu and said, "It's my fault. I hurt him. Yi'er said that day that he didn't want to be trapped in this hellhole every day. I scolded him, so he sneaked out."
Tian Xinshu said, "Sister, stop talking about this. Just pack up and move to my place."
Li Xianzhen said sadly, "I used to like this thatched cottage very much. It's exactly like my husband and I used to live here. But Yi'er didn't like it and wanted to run away..."
Tian Xinshu said, "Senior sister, that man left you and died. He was extremely useless. What is there to be nostalgic about?" Cang Ming turned his head and looked at her, very dissatisfied. Tian Xinshu was so domineering that he didn't even let her die.
Li Xianzhen didn't listen at all. The two sisters were talking about their own things. She grabbed Tian Xinshu's hand and almost bit her teeth. "Where is that old ghost? Take me there now. I want to kill him."
Cang Ming suddenly said, "Mr. Tian Xinshu, since you went to Shi Qiyan, why didn't you rescue Hua Yi?"
For the first time, a look of despair and fear appeared on Tian Xinshu's face.
Cang Ming stared at her and said, "You are lying."
Wei Ci had a happy smile on his face and looked at Cang Ming with great admiration: "Yes, I think so too."
Tian Xinshu said with difficulty, "I was too embarrassed to see Yi'er and Senior Sister, so I left him there. I decided not to rescue him."
“…”
Tian Xin said weakly, "Old Guilian... is my father."
The scene became psychedelic and incredible, and Li Xianzhen's crying suddenly stopped.
Cang Ming looked at Tian Xinshu suspiciously, then said to Wei Ci in a low voice, "See? She might be cheating."
Wei Ci actually smiled brightly, pulled her to a corner of the kitchen, and crossed his arms idly.
The pot of porridge on the stove was almost burnt out, and Wei Ci even waved his hand happily to help put out the fire.
Cang Ming shook his head as if facing a naughty child: "You, just love to watch the fun."
Tian Xinshu reiterated, "Senior Sister, the old ghost Lian who persecuted Yi'er is my father."
Cang Ming really wanted her to shut up. On the other side of the door, Hua Yi didn't make any movement. He must have heard everything.
Li Xianzhen looked at Tian Xinshu steadily: "Didn't you say your father was dead?"
Tian Xinshu said, "He abandoned me at the Li residence and left me to my uncle and aunt to take care of me. It's as if he were dead."
Li Xianzhen suddenly stood up, staring with bloodshot eyes and said, "Then I will kill him."
Tian Xinshu walked slowly towards her with no expression on his face, as creepy as a pale, floating stone statue. "Senior Sister, don't move. Let me handle this..."
Li Xianzhen pushed Tian Xinshu away fiercely, forcing her to take two steps back. Her eyes were red as she stared at Tian Xinshu's tall snow sculpture, as if she wanted to melt it with her fiery disgust.
She gritted her teeth and said, "Okay, okay, okay. You and your father are in cahoots. You protect him."
Tian Xinshu trembled slightly and said, "No, Senior Sister, that's not what I meant..."
Li Xianzhen's voice became lower and lower, and his face gradually twisted, like many evil spirits that Cang Ming had seen: "Even after such a thing, you are still protecting him."
"I don't……"
Cang Ming stood at the other end of the room and said loudly, "Miss Li, since I've come across this matter, I'll naturally see to it. I'll capture Old Guilian and throw him at your feet."
Li Xianzhen grabbed Cang Ming and eagerly dragged her out the door: "Take me with you, I'll go with you, let's go!"
Tian Xinshu yelled, and a layer of frost crept onto Cang Ming's robe. Cang Ming felt a chill all over his body, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.
Wei Ci pulled Cang Ming into his arms with one hand, then thrust out his other hand, sending a flash of silver light flying. Before anyone could see what was happening, Tian Xin Shu had already slammed heavily against the wall. The hut swayed, and although Tian Xin Shu was quite sturdy and hadn't shattered, it was imprisoned by the magic, completely embedded in the wall, unable to move.
Cang Ming leaned against his warm embrace and suddenly shuddered. She thought of the ancient building she had not left. If she entered the building from the front door, the pavilions and terraces were cascading and exquisite, and the walls were carved with layers of strange statues.
Perhaps it was not a carving, but an inlaid, gradually dried defeat.
Amidst the chaos, Li Xianzhen suddenly regained consciousness, rushed to the small room, and kicked the door open. The graceful grace and decisive strength of her movements, revealing the traces of a skilled dancer, made Cang Ming stare at her for a moment at an inappropriate moment.
Li Xianzhen stretched out her hands and lifted Hua Yi up from the muddy body, pulling her out of the hut: "Mom will take you away. She is no longer your aunt!"
Hua Yi pulled his mother back: "I'm not going, I don't want to go out..."
Li Xianzhen pulled him over so hard that he almost fell over. "You silly boy, your aunt is in cahoots with that damn old ghost. How can you still stay here?"
Tian Xinshu hung on the wall and screamed miserably, "Senior Sister!"
Li Xianzhen ran up the bridge holding Hua Yi, muttering: "Shiqiyan...Shiqiyan..." She was like an angry and rampaging female beast, as if she had forgotten that she wanted Cang Ming to avenge her.
Cang Ming wanted to rush out, but Wei Ci held him tightly against his chest, preventing him from moving his legs. He could only stretch his neck and shout anxiously, "Ms. Li, wait a minute! Let's discuss this in detail! Although we've only met once, we have a strong affinity and will definitely lend you a hand!"
Li Xianzhen ran back with Hua Yi in his arms and said anxiously to Cang Ming, "Someone needs to watch over them after I leave."
"They? Who are they?" Cang Ming looked around, but there was not even a cat or dog in this small space.
Li Xianzhen put Hua Yi down. Hua Yi was dazed and desperate, and seemed to want to do nothing. He turned around and wanted to rush back into the small room: "I'm not going anywhere!"
Li Xianzhen grabbed him and said to Cang Ming breathlessly, "They."
She pointed to the wooden rack on the stove.
Cang Ming said to Wei Ci, "Let me go." Wei Ci let go of his hand, and Cang Ming gently struggled out of Wei Ci's arms, moving his limbs that were warmed by him, and looking at the bottles and jars on the shelf in confusion.
"Ms. Li, are these precious seasonings?" Although Cang Ming didn't quite understand, he was still trying to agree.
Li Xianzhen hurriedly pushed aside the bottles and jars and pulled out two clay eggs from a secret compartment. She waved them in front of Cang Ming's eyes and then hurriedly stuffed them back into the secret compartment. "This thing is related to human life. Please keep an eye on it for me."
Cang Ming said: "Okay, I'll watch it for you."
Li Xianzhen pulled Hua Yi up and rushed out again, her face ablaze with hatred, a strange and fierce light flickering in her eyes. Their figures swayed several times among the snow-covered trees before finally disappearing.
Cang Ming walked over and took out the clay eggs, which turned out to be two extremely ugly pottery figures.
Just as he was about to take a closer look at the puppets, Wei Ci's expression suddenly changed. He snatched the two clay figures, held them in one hand, and looked at them with a sneer.
I don’t know if it was Cang Ming’s illusion, but Wei Ci seemed to see the enemy he had been looking for for many years. His eyes were gloomy and eager, exactly the same as Li Xianzhen just now.
Tian Xinshu roared against the wall, "Get your dirty hands off me, you thief!"
Wei Ci's hands clenched and tightened, nearly crushing the two clay figures. Cang Ming twisted his fingers and said, bafflingly, "Miss Li means that we can just put them back where they came from and keep them safe. There's no need to hold them in our hands..."
Wei Ci grabbed both of Cang Ming's hands and led her out the door. The two pottery figures vanished from their reality in his hands and were transferred to the shelves of the antique shop without anyone noticing.
Cang Ming hurriedly said: "Wait, Wei Ci, we still have to investigate the curse..."
Wei Ci strode forward, pulling Cang Ming out in a slightly impatient manner, pinching her arm so hard that it hurt.
