The next day, the gloomy sky seemed like a huge lead plate, pressing heavily on the Shannan County Government Building.
Jiang Weihua hid in the office alone, with the curtains closed to block out the faint light.
He held a letter of denunciation tightly in his hand, the letter paper trembling slightly at his fingertips, and then he carefully put it into a slightly old yellow envelope.
Just as he was racking his brains to think about how to quietly deliver the letter to the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, the cell phone on his desk suddenly vibrated violently.
Jiang Weihua's eyes subconsciously swept towards the screen of his mobile phone. The three words "Secretary Liu" kept flashing on the screen like a jumping flame, instantly igniting the anger in his heart.
The corners of his mouth rose slightly, revealing a sneer of contempt, which was full of disdain and ridicule.
Once upon a time, he always thought that Liu Yong was his solid support in officialdom, but now it seems that all the past care and support were nothing but illusions, and were just illusions that deceived himself.
Liu Yong, this shrewd guy, usually looks honest and simple and smiles at everyone he sees, but in fact, he is the one who truly masters the way of survival in officialdom.
The officialdom philosophies of being wise but appearing foolish, judging the situation, and seeking benefits and avoiding harm are fully reflected in him.
With disgust in his heart, Jiang Weihua took a deep breath and pressed the answer button.
He did not speak first, but just leaned back in his chair quietly. The electric sound coming from the receiver seemed to be an echo of his inner struggle and anger at the moment.
"Weihua, are you listening?"
Liu Yong's familiar voice came from the receiver, still with some concern, but to Jiang Weihua, it sounded particularly hypocritical.
"Secretary Liu, I'm listening." Jiang Weihua responded coldly, without a trace of warmth in his voice.
"Oh, I was surprised to receive your transfer documents today. Did you know about this in advance?"
Liu Yong pretended to be surprised in his tone, but Jiang Weihua could clearly feel the perfunctory tone behind his words.
Jiang Weihua sneered and asked, "Secretary Liu, I didn't apply for transfer from my current position. How could the city skip the county committee and suddenly transfer me away?"
He knew clearly that it was impossible for Liu Yong to be unaware of the city's adjustment of the county's team.
Now Liu Yong was pretending to be innocent here, which made Jiang Weihua feel sick. He asked this deliberately just to see how Liu Yong could continue to act.
Liu Yong paused for a moment on the other end of the phone, then said in surprise, "Weihua, I don't know the specific situation! Otherwise, why don't you go to the Municipal Party Committee Organization Department to ask? Don't you have friends there?"
In order to save Jiang Weihua's face, Liu Yong has been hinting that this was the city's idea and the county was not aware of it.
But Jiang Weihua didn't buy it at all. His attitude made Liu Yong gradually lose his patience, so he simply let him find out on his own.
Jiang Weihua's face darkened instantly. He no longer hesitated and asked directly, "Secretary Liu, if you say that the county committee was unaware of this, then I will go to the Municipal Committee Organization Department to find out what mistake I, Jiang Weihua, made that they ignored the organizational procedures and insisted on transferring me out of Shannan County!"
He knew in his heart that if he really went to the Municipal Party Committee Organization Department and made a scene, Liu Yong would definitely lose face and might even be criticized by the city leaders.
This was undoubtedly a way to flatter Liu Yong. He wanted to let Liu Yong know that he was not so easy to bully.
However, Liu Yong was not angered by his threats. He just laughed and said, "Weihua, I have already conveyed the decision of the municipal party committee to you. Do you want me and County Magistrate Li Lin to take you to your new workplace?"
Liu Yong cleverly avoided Jiang Weihua's attack and shifted the topic to sending him to a new unit.
Seeing that Liu Yong did not accept the challenge, Jiang Weihua could only snort coldly and give up.
He suppressed his anger and sneered, "Thank you for your kindness, but it's not necessary!"
Then he hung up the phone without hesitation, as if this would sever the hypocritical connection between him and Liu Yong.
Liu Yong's perfunctory attitude towards him acted like a catalyst, further strengthening his determination to report Li Lin.
He quickly picked up the phone and dialed the driver's number.
After a while, the driver hurried into the office.
Jiang Weihua handed over the envelope in his hand, his eyes revealing a hint of majesty that could not be refused, and ordered, "You have been with me for so long, and I have not treated you unfairly. Please do me one last thing and put this letter into the reporting box of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection!"
The driver took the envelope and a hint of hesitation appeared on his face.
He knew that sending a letter might seem simple, but once it involved reporting, he might get into trouble.
But then he thought that he was just a letter deliveryman. No matter who the letter reported, it should have nothing to do with him and no one would hold him responsible.
After hesitating for a moment, he nodded, turned and left the office.
At the same time, in another office of the county government, Li Lin was busy arranging work.
As soon as Jiang Weihua's transfer order was issued, he immediately arranged for comrades from the Municipal Audit Bureau to move into the Shannan County Government.
Comrades from the Audit Bureau quickly got to work, carefully checking through the mountains of project documents.
Without any outside interference, their work went on very smoothly.
Soon, many clues of violations of regulations and disciplines gradually surfaced like poisonous snakes hiding in the darkness.
That night, under bright lights, Li Lin sat at his desk with a draft audit report.
