A catastrophic disaster

A catastrophic disaster

The black cloth blocked out the light, and the alley was suffocatingly quiet.

In the darkness, Wu Siqi could only hear his own rapid breathing, his heart pounding violently in his chest, the sound seeming to crack his sternum.

Suddenly, heavy footsteps came crashing down.

From afar, it approached with overwhelming pressure, each step closer and closer, causing the ground to tremble slightly. Then came the sound of chains rubbing and dragging, the sound of metal colliding and gravel creaking.

A bone-chilling chill hit him in the face, and Wu Siqi felt the breath he exhaled instantly condense into white mist, which was quickly swallowed up by the darkness.

The chill crept up her spine from the soles of her feet, forcing her whole body to tremble. She clenched her teeth and dared not make the slightest sound.

The sound of the dragging chain suddenly stopped in front of her, and a heavy silence descended, as if she was the only one left in the whole world.

A low "Hmm?" suddenly sounded, with an unquestionable question, and seemed to be directed directly at Wu Siqi who was shrouded in black cloth.

Did the breathing sound give it away?!

Wu Siqi's heart tightened, and she immediately held her breath, forcing herself to suppress her trembling body. Her chest was about to burst, but she didn't dare to take a breath of air.

"Hmm." The sound of metal dragging sounded again.

The thing's footsteps were as loud as the beating of a drum, and as it left, the cold and gloomy aura gradually dissipated.

Wu Siqi fell to the ground holding the cardboard box, cold sweat soaking the back of her clothes. She was gasping for breath with lingering fear.

She didn't dare to lift the black cloth, for fear that the thing would come back. Fan Yu said he would wait for her to come back. Such a great immortal would definitely not deceive a small mortal like her.

I don’t know how long it took, Wu Siqi almost fell asleep holding the cardboard box, when the black cloth above his head was suddenly lifted, and the sudden light made Wu Siqi squint his eyes.

"Are you okay?" Fan Yu put the black cloth back into his sleeve pocket, took the cardboard box from her hand, and reached out to pull her up.

It took Wu Siqi a while to adjust to the light. Fan Yu had wounds on her face and her clothes were torn in many places. She gasped, "I'm fine. I guess you're okay, right?"

Following her gaze back at himself, Fan Yu realized that he was not in a very decent state. An idea suddenly occurred to him, and he changed into clean clothes. "I'm fine. It's not safe here. Take us back to your house. When we get there, stick these four talismans on the four walls in the east, south, west and north. Knock on the cardboard box three times. I will then tell you what happened."

After she finished speaking, she handed the cardboard box and the talisman to Wu Siqi, then she touched it in front of her forehead and slipped into the gap in the cardboard box like a gust of black wind.

She could tell at a glance that the four pieces of talisman paper were the isolation talismans used by Yi Ning.

The surface of the cardboard box was also covered with talismans, which were very messy and had all kinds of things on them. Wu Siqi could tell that they were all talismans used for sealing and blocking.

Fortunately, her physique has become stronger. This cardboard box weighs at least ten pounds, and it is not easy to carry it back home in one go. She walked and stopped many times, and it took her half an hour to get home, which usually takes more than ten minutes.

She placed the cardboard box on the coffee table and raised her hand to cast talismans. She added four more talisman papers to the four given by Fan Yu to form a strong barrier. After doing all this, she knocked the cardboard box three times in a row.

The black mist rose up in response and condensed into a human shape in an instant. Fan Yu stood upright in the room, looked around at the talismans on the wall, and sat down cross-legged on the spot with satisfaction.

Wu Siqi asked her with concern: "Master Fan, what happened?"

Fan Yu didn't answer at first, but raised his hand to cut the talisman on the cardboard box, then opened it up to let her see inside.

The cover of the cardboard box blocked his view, so Wu Siqi stretched his head to look.

Just one glance and she was so shocked that she fell to her knees. Yi Nian was lying inside, covered in blood, and looked like he was barely breathing.

Her hands were suspended in the air, wanting to touch her, but afraid that she would hurt her. She looked up at Fan Yu, her eyes full of tears, "Why is she like this?"

"Don't worry, she just looks scary like this, she won't die for a while." Fan Yu waved his sleeves to dissolve the cardboard box, and used his spiritual power to lift the bloody cow cat onto the soft pillows on the sofa.

Wu Siqi touched her paw pad with a distressed look and asked, "Who hurt her like this? Was it that monster in the alley just now?"

"No, Niutou doesn't have that ability." Fan Yu shook his head and sighed, "It was Cui Pan. He was too cruel. He hit her with the ghost stick twice and almost beat her to death on the spot."

"Why did you hit her?" Wu Siqi clenched his fists, angry for her.

Fan Yu sneered, "Don't look like that. I think she deserves a beating. She broke into the Fate Book Pavilion and stole a mortal's fate book. It's only natural for Cui Pan to beat her."

Wu Siqi frowned in dissatisfaction with her attitude, and his tone became harsh: "I believe that even if she was to steal the Book of Life, she wouldn't be beaten to death!"

"If it was just to steal the fortune book, he wouldn't have been beaten like this," Fan Yu folded his arms and nodded, looking at the poor cow cat with great contempt. "But if he failed to steal the fortune book and accidentally set fire to the fortune book pavilion, that would be too much."

"Ah?" Wu Siqi turned his head and looked at Yi Ning, "Do you want to learn from me? Do you want to imitate Lai Siyuan in setting fire?"

Fan Yu told Wu Siqi everything that happened in Tiandi Palace.

At first, Yi Ning was quite obedient and went to work properly for a few weeks, until last night she suddenly threw the roster to Fan Yu, saying that she was not feeling well and would skip work for a day.

Fan Yu looked at this guy with shifty eyes and didn't look like she was up to no good. She was afraid that she would come to the human world to find Wu Siqi again, so she gave all the flower albums to Xie Yu and quietly followed Yi Ning.

She followed her all the way and found out that this guy was not going to the human world to find a lover, but sneaked into the Fortune Book Pavilion and planned to secretly change the fortune book. Fan Yu was so angry at the time that she rushed in to stop her.

Fan Yu pushed open the door, but unexpectedly, inside the house, Cui Pan was holding a ghost-beating stick and confronting Yi Ning.

It turned out that Cui Pan guessed that the person who had changed the fortune book before would definitely come, so he placed a divine sense in the fortune book pavilion, and he really found Yi Ning.

Yi Ning was already confused by the beating from Cui Pan with a stick, and Fan Yu suddenly pushed the door open, scaring her so much that she knocked over the oil lamp next to her, and the shark oil spilled onto the shelf, igniting a fire in an instant.

Cui Pan immediately mobilized his magical power to put out the fire. Yi Ning took advantage of his distraction, ran out of the house, turned back into a cat and rushed into the datura flower field.

Fan Yu followed Qian and put in some effort to put out the fire. Seeing that many ghosts and immortals were coming one after another, he quickly ran back to Meng Meng's courtyard. Sure enough, Yi Ning was there looking for Meng Meng for help.

At this time, Judge Cui sent a message: Despite all efforts to save the Book of Destiny Pavilion, 300 books of destiny were still burned. All of them should be arrested immediately and taken to the judge's office for punishment.

Yi Ning thus committed a terrible disaster of "burning down the fortune-book pavilion and destroying the fortune-book", and became the number one wanted criminal in the underworld.

If she were caught, there would be only one outcome for her - after being struck by ninety-nine thunderbolts on the punishment platform to cleanse her immortal body and demonic spirit, she would be thrown into reincarnation and become a beast again.

In order to protect her from death, Fan Yu and the other two suffered many injuries. Before escaping from the ghost gate, Yi Ning was blocked by Cui Pan, and was beaten with a ghost stick and burned all over by his karma fire.

In the end, Xie Yu knocked Cui Pan unconscious with a club from behind, and only then was Fan Yu able to send Yi Ning out of the underworld.

Wu Siqi knew everything that happened next. The Bull-Headed and Horse-Faced Demons were searching for the cat all over the city. Fan Yu entrusted the cardboard box to her and used it as a substitute to lure away most of the Bull-Headed and Horse-Faced Demons.

Wu Siqi looked at Yi Ning with shock on his face: "She is really capable of causing trouble."

"How audacious!" Fan Yu angrily spit out a stream of anger, gritting his teeth, looking very disappointed. "Now she has nowhere to go, and you are the only one who can take her in. Her soul has been burned by the karmic fire, and she probably won't wake up for a while. I have some spiritual liquid that nourishes the soul, you can just force it into her mouth and pour it in."

After that, she raised her hand and threw a jade bottle to Wu Siqi, then continued: "I can only help her here. Xiaobai and I have to go back to be punished. You will have to bear the rest of the days on your own."

Fan Yu tirelessly urged her, "You must maintain this formation. If you leave the isolation formation, the Bull-Headed and Horse-Faced Demons will follow her energy and come to you within three seconds. If you want to take her out, you must do as I did, putting her in a box and covering it with isolation and sealing talismans."

Wu Siqi nodded obediently.

Fan Yu continued, "President Cui boasts that the laws of the underworld must be strict. If Yi Ning escapes from the underworld under his hands, it will be a disgrace to him. I believe that even the Ox-Head and Horse-Face will not give up chasing her to the ends of the earth. If your conditions allow, bring her to Datong."

Wu Siqi asked doubtfully, "Datong?"

Fan Yu grabbed at the void and condensed a painting on the coffee table. "She gathered her spiritual wisdom in Datong. The land of living beings is the root of monsters. Her aura there will become complicated and difficult to track. Datong is her perfect hiding place."

"This is a watercolor painting she made when she was studying art in the human world. It's said to be the first scene she saw after gaining spiritual intelligence."

Wu Siqi continued to nod obediently.

Fan Yu realized that he seemed to have talked too much. He coughed lightly, stood up and prepared to leave. "You have my number. If there is any problem that cannot be solved, just text me. I will reply to you when I see it. After I leave, she will be handed over to you."

As soon as she finished speaking, she turned into a puff of black smoke and floated away through the open window.

After she left, Wu Siqi fell to the ground in a panic. The jade bottle in her palm was burning from being gripped by her. She stared blankly at the injured kitten on the sofa, her throat blocked and she couldn't utter a word.

What should I do with you?
