Chapter 23, Shi, you've changed!

"I really like Shi!"

Shi Youxi looked at him with surprise and disdain. The boy's tone was so firm that it was as if he were shouting a slogan for joining the Party.

"I want to be your little brother... no! Your friend!"

The boy hurriedly explained, his ingrained servility reaching its peak at that moment, as if he was afraid that because of his slip of the tongue, he would no longer recognize his elder brother.

"I absolutely have no other intentions, I'm serious!"

Shi Youxi didn't even bother to put on a cold face. He put the cheese candy that Guan Shiyan had given him into his schoolbag and walked away without looking back.

Guan Shiyan was disappointed and aggrieved.

Finding an older brother was much more difficult than he had imagined...

That's true. Someone like Shi is probably in high demand and they won't just take anyone.

Just as he was about to leave, he saw Shi Youxi, who had just walked out, return.

The boy still had a cold and aloof expression, his phoenix eyes half-closed.

Guan Shiyan sniffled and mumbled, "I'm not going with you, I want to go back—"

Where is the music room?

"ah?"

"The music room. Where is it?"

Shi Youxi frowned impatiently. He had already been delayed for too long, and he didn't know why he had asked Guan Shiyan.

Maybe we shouldn't go at all.

He took out his phone to call Mu Yiran, but his backpack strap was grabbed again.

Guan Shiyan: "I know! I'll take you there, let's go, classmate Shi."

"School's out, my young master? Why haven't I seen you come out?"

When the call connected, Mu Yiran's clear voice came through the phone in a muffled tone.

Shi Youxi pulled her backpack strap back. "Okay! My sister's out of school and she's going to the music room for rehearsal now."

Mu Yiran swallowed the cheesy potato in her mouth, handed the lunchbox to the driver with an amazed look in her eyes, and said indistinctly, "Um...oh, rehearsal, you have to go to rehearsal, go ahead."

She was pleased to see the driver's face light up with a blissful expression as he prepared to move on to the next dish. Even Guan Shiyan, who was standing next to her, could tell that Shi Youxi's reply was perfunctory.

It seems that Shi cares a lot about that older sister.

Sure enough, the boy next to her stopped, his expression instantly becoming more animated, his eyelashes fluttering upwards. "Sister, you're eating with someone else again, aren't you!"

The boy's tone was clearly firm, but there was a hint of helplessness in his eyes.

Mu Yiran remained completely unfazed when caught slacking off, while the driver beside her immediately swallowed a mouthful of potatoes upon hearing this, wiping his mouth haphazardly with the back of his hands.

He wiped his face while frantically shaking his head at Mu Yiran.

Mu Yiran remained calm as a dog, "We need to taste it together and find out which one is the best before we can give it to the young master."

"snort."

Guan Shi stopped in front of a heavy, soundproof door. "Student Shi, we've arrived at the music room."

"Hmm?" Mu Yiran raised her eyebrows in curiosity upon hearing an unfamiliar voice.

"Young Master, who are you with?"

This was the first time Mu Yiran had heard someone else's voice while she was near Shi Youxi since the start of the semester.

Shi Youxi did not intend to answer the question, but pointed to the stairwell and gestured for Guan Shiyan to leave.

Guan Shiyan left, but when he walked to the side where Shi Youxi was holding her phone, Shi Youxi's eyelids twitched. Before she could push him away, Guan Shiyan greeted her warmly: "Hello, I'm Guan Shiyan. We met when school started."

"School starts... Oh oh oh oh."

Mu Yiran was as surprised as a crowing rooster. She immediately remembered, "You are my young master's little brother!"

Shi Youxi: "..."

A pincer attack from both sides.

Who exactly is helping him recruit followers?!

Guan Shiyan was delighted to receive approval and was about to say "yes" when Shi Youxi shot him a sharp glare, forcing him to shut his mouth obediently.

But even that couldn't suppress the corners of his mouth that were desperately turned up.

This older sister is so kind!

Mu Yiran was very pleased that the boy she raised had become socially adept and knew how to make friends; even his younger brother was considered a friend.

Sure enough, pretty kids only play with other pretty kids.

Mu Yiran wanted to continue chatting, but then the sound of a piano came through the receiver. The elegant melody was "Air on the G String".

Guan Shiyan was surprised to find that the music room was already occupied, and it was Principal Ace's daughter, Heng Qian.

The girl, with blonde hair and wearing a pleated skirt, sat gracefully in front of an expensive grand piano. Her slender, fair fingers danced nimbly across the keys, and the arrival of the two boys did not interrupt her rhythm.

Hengqian calmly stood up only after the entire performance was over, as if she had just realized that someone had come in.

"Long time no see, Shi."

Shi Youxi ignored her. He felt that this girl wasn't very bright, even though he had just seen her at the meeting yesterday.

He casually tossed his backpack onto the sofa and walked over to the cello in the middle of the room with his phone.

This cello was specially prepared for him. Although it cannot compare with the one Bai Shengsheng gave him, it is still playable.

Hengqian fiddled with her hair and walked up to the boy. Shi Youxi's pale skin, illuminated by the overhead spotlight, looked like the most expensive jewel in a display case.

Eye-catching and captivating.

Heng Qian could hardly hide her affection. She took a deep breath, smelled the faint orange scent on herself, and walked to Shi Youxi's side with perfect poise.

The boy seemed to be searching for something.

"Student Shi, is there anything I can help you with?"

"Looking for a music stand."

Hengqian was overjoyed; this was the first time she had received a response since she had taken the initiative to speak to him in so many days.

“I know where it is, I’ll get it for you.” She walked toward the storage room in the room, only to see that Guan Shiyan, who had been silent from the beginning, had already taken the music stand.

Heng Qian stopped Guan Shiyan and, under his questioning gaze, took the music stand directly. "Thank you, this is none of your business. You can go back now."

"Shi, I brought it to you."

Guan Shiyan: "...?..."

He knew that Heng Qian looked down on illegitimate children like him, so Guan Shiyan would not take the initiative to provoke these people.

But that doesn't mean Hengqian can take Shi Youxi's job from him!

Guan Shiyan strode forward, wanting to do something more, but Heng Qian kept seemingly blocking his way.

He clenched his fists in annoyance, scoffing inwardly. So what if Hengqian was so attentive? Shi had no interest in anyone else.

He believed that Shi would not be so easily bought off by Hengqian!

Sure enough, the next second Shi Youxi frowned and then coldly uttered that classic, domineering, and forceful sentence.

"You stay by my side until I finish rehearsal, and you're not allowed to go anywhere!"

Hengqian: "!!!"

Guan Shiyan: "???"

Shi, you've changed!
