Chapter 247 I Will Be the Source of Your Arrogance

"What else can I do? My master was bitten by a rabid dog, so I have to go and bite back to protect him."

Afraid of seeing it earlier in the season, Mu Yiran anxiously pulled his face away, "There's no need, besides, I am—sigh!"

Before he could finish the last three words, the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing the car to sway.

Shi Youxi frowned and glanced at the several black cars that had quickly appeared around them, displeased: "What are you doing? Don't you know the way?"

Shi Jie quickly replied, "No, sir, it's the car in front, it has the Wen family's license plate."

"What?" Mu Yiran leaned over to look. The white Bentley, with its diamond-studded emblem, was clearly Wen Qingyu's.

Shi Youxi saw it too. He glanced at the road conditions, then slowly pulled Mu Yiran back and hugged her shoulders. "Sit still, what's the rush?"

Mu Yiran thought he didn't know whose car it was, so she sat down obediently. Just as she was about to persuade him to go back, she said, "Forget it, Shi Youxi. I'll get my revenge for that slap later. Let's go back now."

Shi Youxi pinched her face and turned her around, then bent his finger and rubbed her left cheek, his eyes deep and dark. "I can't wait. I promised Mom and Dad, and I have to keep my word."

"Otherwise, if they knew in the afterlife, how could they acknowledge me as their son-in-law, and how could they entrust you to me with peace of mind?"

Shi Youxi kissed Mu Yiran's nose, then her eyes, and finally her brow, with utmost tenderness. Looking at her face so close to his, he murmured, "I always keep my word when it comes to you."

"......"

After saying that, Shi Youxi put his arm around Mu Yiran's shoulder and sneered, "Run into her."

Mu Yiran: "......"

"?!?!"

Before anyone could stop him, Shi Jie didn't even utter a sound. He floored the accelerator, and the modified black Brabus hurtled straight into the gleaming rear of the Bentley.

"--Bang!"

"Aaaaaah!"

The weightlessness caused by the high-speed inertia made the Bentley spin violently several times before crashing into the guardrail and flipping over. "Ahhh! Mom! Mom, what happened?!"

Wen Qingyu's hair was thrown into disarray by the airbag, and she screamed in surprise as she looked at her own pink and white face imprinted on the airbag.

The rear tire punctured, and smoke rose into the air. Jiang Wen, who was sitting next to Wen Qingyu, rubbed her head and came back to her senses. Looking at the chaotic scene outside the car, she screamed without regard for her image. The two of them scrambled together, pushing and shoving against the deformed car door.

In the Brabus, Shi Youxi opened the back door, and Mu Yiran immediately saw the Shi Menmen gathered around the Bentley.

Through the shattered windows of the Bentley, the screams of two people inside could be heard: "Is anyone there! Help! Is anyone there?!"

"Mom! Open the door! I don't want to die here! Mom!"

Jiang Wen had no time to comfort her beloved daughter; her mind was filled with the smell of gasoline and the smoke. She had dreamt of this horrific scene many times before—the devastated and bloody scene, the broken bodies—each scene felt so real that it sent chills down her spine. She desperately wanted to escape this suffocating environment.

Both of them saw the person standing next to the car and howled like wolves in unison.

"Open the door for us! Call the police! Call the police!"

"What are you doing! Come and save people right now! I'll give you money! Open the door or I'll call the police! Hurry up!"

"The truck is full of oil! It's going to explode! Quick, help us open the door!"

Shi Jie glanced at the rear of the car, which only had a flat tire, and said to the person in the back seat, somewhat speechless, "Sir, now?"

Shi Youxi glanced coldly at the overturned car, got out, and pulled the seatbelt over Mu Yiran, who was sitting alone in the back seat. "Sister, wait for me here. I'll be there soon."

Mu Yiran quickly grabbed him, "Are you going?"

Shi Youxi raised an eyebrow, giving an irrelevant answer, "Well, just one slap each, they won't die."

One slap per person?

Mu Yiran rolled her eyes as she looked at the number of Shimen bodyguards, which could almost surround the Bentley.

That's like slapping a billion people in the face!

He can't even kill them? He thinks those two are cockroaches!

"No." Mu Yiran glanced at Jiang Wen and her daughter, who were smashing the car window with their handbags, a cold glint in her eyes. "I want to go myself."

Shi Youxi raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Okay."

Shi Youxi pulled her out of the car and led Mu Yiran forward. After a few steps, Mu Yiran didn't want him to follow. Shi Youxi didn't care. He just stood behind Mu Yiran, like her shadow following his master.

He said, "Sister, don't be soft-hearted."

"Right now, you don't need to let go of anyone you hate, nor do you need to listen to anything you hate."

"From now on, I will be your wings, your mad dog, and only my master will bully others."

"Sister, I am the source of your confidence to act recklessly."

"You can do anything."

"..."

The man had clearly let go of her hand long ago, but Mu Yiran's back felt like it was leaning against a wall that would never collapse.

It was as if she had finally found someone to lean on, and her back no longer had to be bent so awkwardly.

Mu Yiran kicked her legs. Her low-heeled shoes had long been taken off by Shi Youxi, and she was wearing a pair of Crocs on her feet, which made a silent, steady, and solid sound as she stepped on the ground.

When Mu Yiran saw the terror on the faces of Jiang Wen and her daughter Wen Qingyu as they were dragged out, she felt a long-lost sense of relief.

So this is what it feels like to be a person who relies on a dog for power.

Having someone backing you up...that's really great.

She looked at the shadow of the man standing on her feet in Crocs, suddenly smiled, and raised her hand to slap Jiang Wen across the face.

"Smack!"

A resounding slap.

The slap left both Jiang Wen and Wen Qingyu stunned. The slap was so hard that it drew blood from Jiang Wen. Her head buzzed and her vision blurred. Wen Qingyu, who was next to her, was the first to come to her senses and screamed, "Mu Yiran!"

"You dare hit my mom! You bitch! Did you run us over with your car?!"

Wen Qingyu grabbed her handbag and was about to throw it at her when the bodyguard, who was on guard, easily grabbed her wrist. She kicked her legs, not caring whether she would kick her expensive limited-edition high heels in half.

"You bitch! You dare hit my car! You think we'd end up like your short-lived parents?! Dream on! And you even dared to hit my mom, I—"

"Smack!"

Mu Yiran rubbed her wrist a few times and slapped it again.

Wen Qingyu looked up, her head tilted back and her eyes glazed over.

Mu Yiran pinched her chin and stared at her, her tone icy, "These two slaps were for my parents. If you dare to say a bad word about my parents in the future, I will hit you every time you do. If you're not afraid of my mouth being crooked, go ahead and try."

Wen Qingyu had never suffered like this before; she never even imagined that Mu Yiran would lay a hand on her.

She grinned and cried out, "You dare hit me! Mu Yiran! You're asking for it! I'm going back to tell my dad, tell my grandpa! Mom! Mom! She hit me!"

Mu Yiran ignored her crying like a giant baby and turned to look at Jiang Wen.

Jiang Wen seemed to come to her senses, her eyes filled with fear and apprehension, as if she had seen a ghost.

"Mu...Mu Yiran?"

Mu Yiran smiled, the bright car lights behind her shining on her, and she smiled innocently and purely, like an angel fallen into hell, backlit by the light.

"She is my aunt."

The car headlights blinded Jiang Wen, making it impossible for her to see anything clearly except for the girl's faint smile, which resembled that of her deceased mother.

Seeing that she didn't say anything harsh to her, Mu Yiran was a little surprised. "What are you afraid of, Aunt?"

"Didn't I tell you not to be afraid when someone wants to kill you? You're already this scared after just one slap. What are you going to do in the future?"

Jiang Wen snapped back to reality and tried to grab her face, yelling, "Mu Yiran! Go to hell!"

Mu Yiran stepped back to avoid it, coldly watching the struggling woman. The image of that woman's face, feigning concern and heartache in front of reporters after her parents' death, flashed repeatedly through her mind.

How many times after that did she fall for such a fake expression?

Back then, she was so easily fooled by even the smallest bit of false kindness, and she didn't even feel the pain of being deceived until she was completely abandoned abroad. Only then did she realize that all these people, who claimed to be relatives and family, had only wanted the inheritance she could get from her.

“I only slapped you once, not because you only owe me this one slap.” Mu Yiran pointed to her face. “I remember the several times you insulted me and my parents over the years, but you don’t feel the pain when I only hit you.”

She smiled and pointed at Wen Qingyu. The bodyguard understood and, without saying a word, slapped Wen Qingyu, who was swearing.

"Smack!"

"Ahhh! Qingyu! Qingyu!" Jiang Wen cried out, her face showing an expression of heartache that she could hardly contain herself.

"Mu Yiran! How dare you hit my daughter! Let her go! Let her go right now! If you dare hurt my daughter, I'll kill you!"

Mu Yiran scoffed, "I'm really touched. My aunt's maternal love is so great."

She leaned closer to Jiang Wen and smiled cruelly and sadly, "When you used my parents to insult me, did you ever think that you were also a mother yourself?"

"Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have the Shi family and a powerful backer!" Jiang Wen shouted, her eyes bloodshot. Her heart ached at Wen Qingyu's cries, and her eyes were filled with hatred as she looked at the woman in front of her. "I can hand you over to the Shi family! I can make the Shi family abandon you!"

"You shameless slut! You seduce outsiders to bully your family! You'll go to hell—"

Before she could finish speaking, she was kicked to the ground.

Mu Yiran was pulled up by Shi Youxi, whose face was as cold as ice, and went straight back to the car. He gave Shi Jie a look and said, "Clean it up." The other party immediately got out of the car to deal with the aftermath.

Shi Jie pulled out a mask and put it on, not giving Jiang Wen a chance to recognize them.

He took out his phone and started recording.
