Chapter 68 Chocolate Almond Cake: Separation for a Better Reunion
After White Valentine's Day, there are only a few days left until the final exams.
Gong You slumped over his desk, sighing. How could such a pleasant moment have been followed by such immense sadness?
If I fail this final exam, I'll have to stay for remedial classes and a make-up exam, and then I won't be able to see Mina off—
Miyaji was the same, but he lowered his eyes and said nothing, instead flipping through the notes that Amaho Akina had lent him.
Fortunately, thanks to Akina Ame, who had been tutoring them, the results were pretty good; at least there wasn't anything in the notes they couldn't understand.
Akina Amako sighed. She was sitting across the table, facing her final exams the next day.
"Yu, instead of sighing here, you should start reviewing quickly. At least you can get a few more points on the test," said Akina Tensui, tapping the table.
Gong You sullenly pulled over a test paper and began to write.
The table fell silent. Miyaji was still flipping through his notebook, but his eyes were vacant, and it was unclear whether he was actually absorbing anything. Amako Akina was also looking at her notebook; she didn't really need to review anymore, and was simply reinforcing her memory.
"Okay, I'm done writing. Akina, please help me see if I can pass this time." After a while, Miyako pushed the test paper in front of Akina, looking at her with starry eyes.
Akina Amaho pulled over the test paper, looked at it, and made a few circles and a few checkmarks on it, the number of which was about the same.
She weighed the test paper for a moment, and finally nodded to Gong You: "It's about right, you should be able to pass this time."
Gong You clenched his fist and whispered a "yes".
Miyaji suddenly sat down next to Amaho Akina, pointed to a formula in the notebook and said, "I don't quite understand how to use this formula. Akina, could you teach me?"
Akina Amako glanced at it, then rubbed her temples: "Isn't this a formula our physics teacher just explained a while ago? Didn't either of you listen in class?"
She glanced at the two men hesitantly, and both of them turned their heads away as if feeling guilty.
Akina Amako sighed, picked up a piece of draft paper, and her delicate handwriting appeared on the paper: "You two look carefully, this formula is derived like this, so the principle used should be like this..."
The tutoring period ended quickly, and the next day they would face the final exams.
Gong You swallowed hard, glanced at the exam paper, and then breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, the key points of this exam were still those that Amaho Akina had mentioned.
Gong Zhi looked at the test paper. The formula he needed to use for this big question was exactly the one he had asked Mina about last night. He confidently substituted the formula and began to calculate.
Both of them were confident that they would pass.
The final exam results showed that they had passed all their subjects.
After announcing the results and the teacher finished going over the test, they were about to leave the school. Miyako and Miyaji rushed straight to the door of Amaho Akina's classroom to wait for her.
While still packing her things, Akina saw the two people still standing at the door waiting for her, sighed slightly, quickly finished packing, and came out.
"Alright, seeing how happy you two are, you must have both passed, right?"
“Yes, it’s all thanks to Mina for tutoring us,” Miya Yu said.
If it weren't for Minna guiding their homework almost every night this month, plus the cramming before the final exams, this exam probably wouldn't have been so easy.
"Speaking of which, Mina actually got first place in the whole grade this time," Miyaji said.
“Yes, while teaching you, I’ve also found it easier to apply some of the knowledge.” Akina Amaho shrugged.
The three of them walked downstairs together and headed towards the school gate. On their usual way home, Gong You and Gong Zhi once again took her hand.
"...Minna, can't you just stay here? There are some good art universities here, right?" Miya Yu's voice suddenly became somewhat somber.
His heart was heavy. Amako Akina would only stay here for another week at most before leaving for Tokyo.
Spring break is so short.
Akina Amane shook her head: "But my only goal is Tokyo University of the Arts, which means I have to go to Tokyo. Only there can I learn more."
Miyaji's expression also turned cold; clearly, he didn't want to accept this.
"Mina, you'll come back someday, right?" Of course, even if she doesn't come back, the two of them will try their best to see her.
“Of course I’ll come back, after all, my only two friends are still here.” Akina Ama said, glancing at them.
When she spoke, she consciously lowered her voice and didn't say one word.
"Minnai, remember to send us a message." Miyako still had a bitter face; her usually confident and spirited expression now looked somewhat sad.
"Of course I'll message you guys, but could you two please stop acting like I'm leaving any second now? I'm not leaving for at least another week." Amamiya sighed.
Actually, when it really came time to part ways, she didn't feel good either. She would always recall the times when she laughed heartily with them, and then, what would come to mind was the process of how they had unknowingly grown closer to each other.
Even though they've only known each other for a few months, they're already very familiar with each other.
“That’s true. In that case, we should certainly make the most of these seven days.” Gong You quickly perked up again, seemingly having shaken off his previous negative emotions.
Miyaji glanced at Amaho Akina and thought to himself that if Akina planned to settle in Tokyo in the future, he would open a branch there.
However, even though we agreed to make the most of these seven days, the time passed by without stopping, whether we were together every day, watching Amamiya paint, Amamiya watching the two of them play volleyball, or joining in, or the three of us sitting on the sofa playing games and finally falling asleep together.
They even stayed overnight at Tianhui's house for the past few days, snuggling together tightly at night until they fell asleep, and before they knew it, it was the last day.
Reluctantly, Miyako and Miyaji escorted Amako Akina to the station. Both of them were carrying a suitcase, which belonged to Amako Akina.
"Can't you really stay here for another week before leaving?" Gong You was still a little unwilling.
Even if she stays for another week, there are still three or four days before school starts, which is enough time for Akina Ama to get ready.
“It’s better to go sooner rather than later, since this is my first time living in Tokyo alone,” said Akina Amasui.
"You shouldn't make things difficult for Mina. We should be very grateful that she can stay with us for a week." Miyaji glanced at Miyayu.
Akina Amazu felt that this sentence sounded normal at first glance, but upon closer examination, it was somewhat strange and even had a hint of resentment.
Well, neither of them really wants me to leave.
She sighed, "I'll definitely come back during the holidays. I haven't sold the house here, and I've left the keys with you. But the next time I come will probably be during the summer vacation."
"Even if we take a step back, can't we go to Tokyo with you? Look, it's so inconvenient for you to carry these two big suitcases all by yourself." Miyako didn't want to be separated from Amiho Akina. It hadn't been that long since White Day. Although she had made preparations, she still didn't want to let Amiho Akina go like this.
“If you two haven’t transferred schools, you should wait until you have another chance to come to Tokyo.” Akina Amami shrugged, took the two suitcases from them, and was about to turn around and board the train.
Gong Zhi suddenly walked over and kissed her on the corner of her lips.
After all, she's leaving, so I should get something in return; otherwise, I'll have to wait several more months for her to come back.
It was damp, soft, and carried an indescribable scent. For a moment, she didn't know if it was just her imagination, but she felt that Gong Zhi was very domineering.
Gong You's eyes widened, and he shouted, "You pig, you actually ran away again!"
As he spoke, he leaned in and kissed Akina Amaho on the corner of her lips, making a loud "smack" sound.
A wet watermark remained on the corner of Amamiya's lips. Her face was a little red, and she didn't bother to wipe it off. She just quickly turned around and walked towards the train door.
"The train is about to depart, I need to get on quickly."
Of course, there was still a sense of panic and disarray in her movements.
Gong You waved at her, watching the train drive away, not caring whether she could hear him or not, and just shouted, "We will definitely come to Tokyo!"
Gong Zhi didn't want to bother with his brother, who sometimes seemed stupid. He simply opened his phone and sent a message in the group chat.
[Miyaji: We'll go to a training camp in Tokyo next time, see you then.]
The coach was already somewhat interested in sending us to a training camp in Tokyo and having us compete against other schools in Tokyo.
[Tenho: I'm not joining the volleyball club. Even if you guys go to the training camp, if it's a closed-campus one, you won't see me.]
As Akina looked at the message, she shook her head. Of course, she had also noticed what Miyayu had just shouted.
It seems they really are twins sharing the same DNA.
As she thought this, she couldn't help but curl the corners of her lips into a smile.
Next time we meet... how about giving them a surprise?
